CalWORKs payment delayed for February - anyone else not received their Cash Aid yet?

There's definitely something going on with payments this month. I work at a nonprofit that helps CalWORKs recipients, and we've had at least 7 clients call today with the same issue. From what I can gather, there was some kind of system update over the weekend that's causing delays for people who get their Cash Aid on the 1st. Most of our clients who were affected have now received their funds, but it's taking 1-2 days longer than usual.

This happened to me last month and I was PANICKING!! Turns out they were doing a "verification review" on my case without telling me. I finally got through to someone and they said they needed my kids' school attendance records even though nobody asked me for them! So frustrating. Did you submit your SAR7 on time? Sometimes they hold payments if they need more verification.

Try using Claimyr if you need to get through to a worker fast. I was in a similar situation last month when my benefits were delayed because of a "system error" and couldn't get through on the regular line. I used claimyr.com and they got me connected to a real person in like 15 minutes instead of waiting for hours. Before you panic, check if you hit your Income Reporting Threshold (IRT) last month. Even a small increase in income that puts you over your IRT can delay your payment while they recalculate. Also, if you recently added or removed someone from your household, that can cause a delay in processing. Did you report any changes recently?

THEY DO THIS ON PURPOSE!!! every few months theres some kind of "glitch" or "system error" and somehow our money gets delayed. notice how they never make mistakes that give us EXTRA money early? only takes it away or makes it late. system working exactly how they want it to 😤

update: just got off phone with ebt customer service and they said theres a countywide delay for some recipients. they said all payments should process by tomorrow latest. might want to call your landlord and explain

i got mine today insted of yesterday to. but my frend still hasnt got hers. ithink its affecting alot of people

Just a heads up - if this happens again and you're in danger of eviction, you can apply for emergency funds through CalWORKs. They have an emergency payment option that can be processed same-day in some counties if you're facing imminent eviction. You'd need to get documentation from your landlord though. Hope your payment comes through soon!

UPDATE: My Cash Aid just showed up in my account a few minutes ago!!! Two days late but at least it's here. Sounds like it was a system-wide issue like several of you mentioned. Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions!
