CalFresh February 2025 payments delayed in LA County? Anyone else still waiting?

I was supposed to get my CalFresh benefits loaded onto my EBT card on the 10th like usual, but it's the 13th and still nothing. Is anyone else in Los Angeles County experiencing delays this month? My rent went up $175 and I'm counting on this food assistance. Called the customer service line but after waiting 45 minutes I got disconnected. Wondering if it's just me or if there's some county-wide issue going on. When did you guys receive your February benefits?

Same boat here! Mine is 3 days late too and nothing from the county. Freaking out because I have 2 kids and we're already out of groceries. They better not be cutting benefits again without telling us.

The distribution dates can sometimes change based on case number. LA County had a system update scheduled for early February according to a notice I got in January. Benefits should still come through, but there might be a 3-5 day delay for many recipients. Did either of you receive the notice about the system maintenance?

Got mine yesterday afternoon (I'm in Pasadena). Check your BenefitsCal account to see if there's any messages or status changes. Sometimes they put holds if they need additional verification docs but don't actually notify you. Happened to me twice last year.

Just checked my BenefitsCal and there's nothing unusual showing. Still says I'm active and eligible for the full benefit amount. Weird that some people got theirs and others didn't. Guess I'll keep waiting and try calling again tomorrow.

If your income recently changed or was reported differently, that could explain the reduction. The 2025 COLA adjustments were also applied in February, which sometimes causes recalculations. You can check your benefit breakdown in your BenefitsCal account or call your caseworker to get the specific reason for the change.

I've been dealing with CalFresh for 6 years and LA County ALWAYS has some kind of issue every few months. Last year they did a system update and it delayed everyone's benefits by almost a week with NO WARNING. They don't care that people are waiting for food money. And good luck trying to get through to a real person on their phone lines - complete joke. You'll wait for hours and then get disconnected right when someone picks up.

It's so frustrating! I spent almost my entire lunch break on hold yesterday only to get disconnected. I can't afford to keep missing work hours trying to get through to them.

After dealing with the same frustrating phone issues last year, I started using Claimyr when I need to contact the LA County CalFresh office. It holds your place in line and calls you back when a worker is available. Saved me hours of waiting. Their video shows how it works: https://youtu.be/eZ19FHRETv8?si=_CXnXqNXbLl26WB8 and the website is claimyr.com. Worth it when you're dealing with something urgent like missing benefits.

I work at a community resource center in Long Beach, and we've had several clients come in this week with the same issue. From what we can tell, there was a technical issue with the benefit distribution system affecting about 30% of LA County recipients. Benefits are being released in batches through Feb 15th. If you don't receive yours by then, that's when you should escalate.

Thank you for this information! This makes me feel better knowing there's an actual system issue and not something wrong with my case. I'll wait until the 15th before panicking.

UPDATE! Just got my benefits loaded about an hour ago! Check your cards everyone!
