Anyone in City of LA received February CalFresh deposit yet? Mine's still pending
Has anyone in the actual City of Los Angeles (not just LA County) received their February CalFresh benefits yet? My EBT balance hasn't updated and I'm getting nervous because rent is due soon and I was counting on these groceries. Called the EBT customer service line but it just says benefits are "pending." I know the issuance schedule is supposed to be based on case number but i'm on day 7 and still nothing! Getting worried since I've seen posts from people in other parts of LA County saying theirs hit already. Anyone else in the same boat or know what's going on?

I'm in East LA and mine just came thru this morning! They seem to be rolling out slower than usual this month. Last month was the 5th for me, this month the 7th. Check your BenefitsCal account too - sometimes that shows a pending deposit before it actually hits your EBT card.

•Thanks! I checked BenefitsCal and it still says "pending issuance" with no date. My case number ends in 3 so I should've gotten it on the 3rd according to the schedule. So frustrating!

I work for an organization that helps people with CalFresh in LA and we're hearing this from several clients specifically in the City of LA this month. There seems to be a processing delay affecting certain zip codes. The county workers told one client it's related to a system update they're implementing, but benefits should all be loaded by the 10th. If yours doesn't arrive by then, you should definitely contact your caseworker directly to check your status.

•Thank you! That's actually really helpful to know it's not just me. I'll wait until the 10th before panicking.

•System update AGAIN?? This is like the 3rd time in 6 months they've messed with the system and every time our benefits get delayed. some of us cant just wait around with empty fridges while they figure out their computer problems!!

I'm in downtown LA and got mine yesterday (the 6th) even though my case number ends in 2. The schedule has been weird lately. Have you tried calling your specific county office rather than the general EBT line? The general line can only see if benefits were issued but not why there might be a delay.

•No, I haven't tried calling the county office directly because it's IMPOSSIBLE to get through. I spent 2 hours on hold last time I tried and then got disconnected.

•If you're having trouble getting through to your county worker, I'd recommend trying Claimyr. It's a service that calls the county office for you and holds your place in line, then calls you when a worker picks up. Saved me like 3 hours of hold time last month when I had a similar issue with delayed benefits. They have a video that shows how it works here: https://youtu.be/eZ19FHRETv8?si=_CXnXqNXbLl26WB8 and their website is claimyr.com. Totally worth it when you need to get actual answers from a real person.

Im in Koreatown and I got mine 2 days ago but my neighbor hasn't gotten hers yet so its definitely inconsistent right now!!! The whole issuance schedule thing seems to be all over the place in 2025. My caseworker told me they're updating the entire CalFresh database and some accounts are taking longer to process than others.

•Yep same in Silverlake. My roommate and I both get CalFresh, we applied together same household, and somehow I got mine on the 4th but she's still waiting for hers. Makes no sense!

THIS HAPPENS EVERY SINGLE MONTH!!! LA County is the WORST about getting benefits out on time. I'm in Echo Park and still nothing. Meanwhile my friend in San Bernardino county already got hers 5 days ago. The system is broken and nobody cares that people are going hungry waiting for them to figure it out.

•While it's frustrating, it's important to note that by law, CalFresh benefits must be issued within the first 10 calendar days of the month, so they're still technically within the required timeframe. If you're experiencing a true emergency food situation, you can request an expedited replacement at your local DPSS office and they may be able to help with immediate needs.

Mines still delayed too. App says pending but I was told by my neighbor that there might be a verification hold on my account whatever that means? Has anyone dealt with verification holds before and does that cause delays?

•Verification holds happen when they need to verify something in your case - like income or household composition - before releasing benefits. You should have received a notice if that's the case. Check your BenefitsCal message center or your mail for any requests for verification documents. If you have a verification hold, you'll need to submit whatever documents they're requesting before your benefits will be released.

Wait are we talking about CalFresh or CalWorks? Because those have different issuance schedules I think? My CalWorks comes on the 1st but CalFresh is based on case number.

•I'm talking about CalFresh (food benefits). I don't receive CalWorks.

•You're right that they're different programs with different issuance schedules. CalWorks cash benefits typically come on the 1st of the month, while CalFresh benefits are staggered throughout the first 10 days based on the last digit of your case number. Both go onto the same EBT card though, which sometimes causes confusion.

My sister just called me and said hers came through about an hour ago and she's in Boyle Heights. Have you had any issues with your semi-annual report? Sometimes if your SAR7 was processed late or had any issues that can delay benefits.

•I did my recertification last month and everything was approved. Got the letter saying I was approved for another year. Nothing about any issues with my SAR7...but now I'm wondering if something got flagged and they didn't tell me.
