Why hasn't my Washington ESD unemployment been deposited this week - payment delays?
Filed my weekly claim Sunday like always but my unemployment payment still hasn't hit my account. Usually get it by Wednesday but it's Thursday now and nothing. My claim status shows 'paid' on the Washington ESD website but my bank account is still empty. Anyone else having deposit delays this week? Really need this money for rent that's due tomorrow.

•There might be a processing delay on Washington ESD's end. Sometimes holidays or system maintenance can push payments back a day or two.

Check your payment history on the Washington ESD website to see if there's any hold or issue noted there. Sometimes claims get flagged for review even after showing 'paid' status initially.

•just checked and it shows paid for the right amount on 12/30. bank says no deposits pending though

•If Washington ESD shows it was paid, the delay is likely on the banking side. ACH transfers can take 1-3 business days depending on your bank.

I've been dealing with Washington ESD payment delays for months. When I finally got through to someone using Claimyr (claimyr.com), they told me there was a verification issue that wasn't showing up online. The rep was able to fix it right away. There's even a video demo at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ showing how it works.

•how much does that cost? i can't afford to pay extra just to get my own money

•It's worth checking out - way better than spending hours trying to get through the regular phone lines. Saved me so much stress.

•never heard of that service but anything is better than calling washington esd directly. spent 4 hours on hold yesterday just to get disconnected

•I feel you on this. The system is so broken. Have you tried calling first thing in the morning?

•tried everything. early morning calls, lunch time, nothing works. they either dont answer or hang up after 2 hours on hold

New Year's week often causes banking delays. Many financial institutions have modified processing schedules this time of year. Your payment might post tomorrow instead of today.

•that makes sense actually. didn't think about the holiday schedule affecting it

Check if you have any issues in your Washington ESD inbox or alerts section. Sometimes they send messages about payment delays that are easy to miss.

•good idea, let me log back in and check that

•no messages or alerts showing up. just the normal weekly claim confirmation

This exact thing happened to my sister last month. Her payment was delayed 3 days because of some backend processing issue at Washington ESD. She eventually got all her money but it was nerve wracking waiting.

•did she have to do anything special to get it released or did it just show up eventually?

•she called and they said it was just a technical delay, nothing she did wrong. payment came through the next day after she called

Try logging out and back into your Washington ESD account to refresh the payment status. Sometimes the website glitches and doesn't show the most current information.

•tried that earlier but still shows the same thing. payment shows as issued but not in my account

•The disconnect between what Washington ESD shows and what banks process is really common. Usually resolves within 48 hours.

I had this same issue and ended up using Claimyr to get through to Washington ESD quickly. The agent explained that sometimes payments get stuck in a queue and need to be manually released. Took 5 minutes to fix once I actually talked to someone.

•might have to try that if this doesn't resolve by tomorrow. can't wait much longer

•definitely recommend calling if it doesn't show up tomorrow. delays this long usually mean there's some kind of hold

banks are weird this week because of the holiday. my direct deposit from work was delayed too. probably nothing to worry about if washington esd shows it as paid

•hoping that's all it is! will give it until tomorrow and then start making calls

Double check that your bank account information on file with Washington ESD is correct. Sometimes payments get rejected if there's a mismatch in account numbers or routing info.

•been using the same account for months so that shouldn't be the issue

•Still worth verifying in your profile settings. Banks occasionally change routing numbers.

•Sounds like there might be a wider processing delay affecting multiple people this week.

When in doubt, call Washington ESD directly. I know the wait times are brutal but sometimes that's the only way to get real answers about payment delays.

•will try calling tomorrow if the money doesn't show up tonight

•Or use Claimyr to skip the wait. Seriously saved my sanity when I was having payment issues.

This happens to me like once every few months. Usually resolves itself within 24-48 hours. The timing with New Year's week probably isn't helping.

•that's reassuring to hear. will try to be patient but it's hard when bills are due

•Totally understand the stress. Maybe call your landlord and explain the delay if rent is your main concern?

I'm experiencing the exact same issue! Filed my weekly claim on Sunday and Washington ESD shows "paid" status, but my bank account is still empty as of Friday morning. This is really concerning since I've never had a delay this long before. Has anyone who posted earlier received their payment yet? I'm wondering if this is a system-wide issue affecting multiple claimants this week.
