Washington ESD unemployment deposit missing - where is my unemployment deposit?
I was supposed to get my unemployment payment deposited yesterday but nothing showed up in my account. I filed my weekly claim on Sunday like always and it showed 'processed' on the Washington ESD website. My direct deposit info hasn't changed and I've been getting payments fine for the past 6 weeks. Anyone else having issues with their deposits being delayed this week? Really need this money for rent.

Same thing happened to me last week. Payment was delayed by 3 days for no reason. Washington ESD never sent any notification about it either.

•Did you ever find out why it was delayed? This is so stressful when you're counting on the money.

•Nope, it just showed up eventually. Their system is a mess.

Check your payment history in your Washington ESD account to see the actual issue date. Sometimes the deposit takes 1-2 business days after the issue date, especially if there was a holiday or weekend.

•The issue date shows as Monday but still no deposit today (Wednesday). Should I be worried?

•If it's been more than 2 business days since the issue date, you should contact Washington ESD to check for any payment holds or issues.

I've been trying to call Washington ESD for two weeks about a similar issue and can't get through to anyone! Their phone system is impossible. Keep getting disconnected after waiting on hold for hours.

•I had the same problem until I found Claimyr. It's a service that calls Washington ESD for you and gets you connected to an actual agent. Check out claimyr.com - they have a video demo at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ that shows how it works.

•That sounds too good to be true. How much does it cost?

•It's worth it when you need to actually talk to someone about your payments. Way better than wasting entire days trying to get through on your own.

Are you sure your bank account information is correct in your Washington ESD profile? Sometimes they mess up the routing or account numbers.

•Yes I double checked everything. Same account I've been using for months.

THE WHOLE WASHINGTON ESD SYSTEM IS BROKEN!!! I've had three different payment delays in the past two months and they never explain why. We're all just supposed to wait around hoping our money shows up eventually???

•I feel your frustration but yelling won't help. The system has issues but most payments do go through eventually.

•Easy for you to say when you're not the one missing rent money!

Sometimes Washington ESD puts a temporary hold on payments if there's any question about your eligibility or job search activities. Did you report any work or changes to your claim recently?

Jamal Wilson
•No changes at all. Filed the same way I always do. This is so frustrating.

Check if your weekly claim actually went through properly. Sometimes it looks like it processed but there was an error.

•It shows as 'paid' in my payment history but no deposit. Makes no sense.

•If it shows as 'paid' then the issue is likely with the bank transfer. You'll need to speak with Washington ESD to trace the payment.

this happened to me before and it was because they had the wrong zip code for my address somehow. took forever to figure out

•How did that affect direct deposit though? Shouldn't that just be bank routing numbers?

I work at a bank and sometimes ACH transfers get delayed or rejected for various reasons. Your bank might have more info about whether they received and rejected a deposit.

•Good idea, I'll call my bank too. Didn't think of that.

•Ask specifically about any rejected ACH deposits from Washington State. They should be able to tell you if something came through and why it was rejected.

Are you using ReliaCard or direct deposit? Because ReliaCard has been having issues lately too.

Jamal Wilson
•Direct deposit to my checking account. Had ReliaCard before but switched months ago.

I've been getting my payments fine but I'm worried this thread is making me paranoid about mine being delayed too lol

•Most payments go through without issues. Don't stress about it unless you actually have a problem.

Update: I used Claimyr yesterday to get through to Washington ESD about my payment issue and they were able to tell me exactly what happened. Turns out there was a system glitch that delayed payments for certain claim types. The agent released my payment while I was on the call.

•Really? How long did it take to get connected through Claimyr?

•About 20 minutes total. So much better than trying to call myself for hours with no luck.

•I'm definitely going to try this if my payment doesn't show up this week. The regular phone system is useless.

Washington ESD really needs to fix their communication. We shouldn't have to guess why our payments are delayed.

•EXACTLY! Basic customer service would be sending us notifications when there are delays.

Check your spam folder for any emails from Washington ESD. Sometimes they send notices about payment holds or issues that end up in spam.

•Just checked and nothing there either. This is really strange.

If all else fails, you can request a paper check be mailed to you. It takes longer but at least you'll get your money.

Jamal Wilson
•How do I request that? Is there an option in the online portal?
0 coins
GalaxyGuardian
•You have to call Washington ESD to request it. Which brings us back to the phone problem everyone's having.

Same issue here! Payment shows as issued Monday but still no deposit. Glad I'm not the only one dealing with this.

•Have you tried calling Washington ESD or your bank yet?

•Called my bank first - they said no deposits were rejected. Going to try that Claimyr thing people mentioned to get through to Washington ESD.

Pro tip: if you can't get your deposit resolved quickly, some banks will advance you the money if you show them proof that Washington ESD issued the payment. Worth asking about.

•That's actually a great idea. My credit union might do that.

•Some banks do this but it's not guaranteed. Depends on your relationship with them and account history.

UPDATE: My deposit finally showed up this morning! No explanation from Washington ESD but it's there. Hope everyone else gets theirs soon.

•Lucky! Still waiting on mine. How many days was yours delayed total?

Oliver Zimmermann
•About 4 days from when it was supposed to be deposited. Just showed up randomly.

This is why I always keep a small emergency fund even when on unemployment. These random delays are too stressful otherwise.

Final update from me: Got through to Washington ESD using Claimyr and they said there was a processing error affecting deposits issued Monday-Tuesday. They manually released mine and it should be in my account tomorrow. Worth the small fee to actually talk to someone who could fix it!

•Good to know it actually works. The regular phone system is completely worthless for getting help.
