Will unemployment checks be late this week in Washington ESD?
Just wondering if anyone knows if unemployment payments are going to be delayed this week? I usually get my direct deposit on Tuesdays but haven't seen anything yet and I'm starting to worry. My claim status still shows active and I filed my weekly claim on Sunday like always. Is Washington ESD having any system issues or delays right now?

Mine hit my account this morning around 8am, so I don't think there's any general delay. When did you last certify?

•I certified Sunday night around 11pm. Maybe it just hasn't processed yet?

•Yeah it can take 24-48 hours sometimes. Should show up by tomorrow morning.

Check your account on the Washington ESD website to see if there are any alerts or if your claim went into adjudication. Sometimes they flag claims randomly for review which can delay payments.

•Good idea, I'll log in and check right now. Haven't gotten any letters or notices.

•Also check your SecureAccess Washington account - sometimes notices show up there first before they mail anything.

I've been dealing with delayed payments for weeks now. Washington ESD is impossible to reach by phone - I've been trying to call for days but just get busy signals or get hung up on after waiting hours. If you're having trouble getting through to them, I recently found this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that actually got me connected to an agent in like 15 minutes. They have a video demo at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ showing how it works. Saved me so much frustration.

•How much does that cost? I'm already strapped for cash waiting for my payment.

•It's worth it when you consider how much time you save. I was literally spending 6+ hours a day trying to get through.

•Is that legitimate? Sounds too good to be true tbh

•Yeah it's legit, they just help you get through the phone queue faster. Still talk to real Washington ESD agents.

Payments are usually on time unless there's a holiday or your claim has issues. Did you work any hours last week that you reported?

Abigail bergen
•No I didn't work at all last week. Been unemployed since December and filing every week.

•Then it should process normally. Give it until Wednesday before worrying.

For what it's worth, I haven't heard of any system-wide delays this week. Most people I know got their payments on schedule. Your delay is probably claim-specific.

•That's actually reassuring, means it's not a big system problem at least.

•Check if you need to complete any job search activities. Sometimes they hold payments if you're behind on that.

•Oh good point, I'll check my job search log too.

Have you tried calling the Washington ESD customer service line? 833-572-8400 is the main number but good luck getting through...

•I tried calling yesterday and today but keep getting disconnected after being on hold.

•That's exactly why I used Claimyr - cuts through all that phone queue nonsense and gets you to an actual person who can check your account.

•Might have to try that if my payment doesn't show up soon too

Just to clarify - when you say 'this week' do you mean this payment cycle or literally this calendar week? Because payment timing depends on your claim effective date.

•I mean for this week's certification. I filed my weekly claim Sunday for last week and usually get paid Tuesday.

Ahooker-Equator
•Got it. Yeah Tuesday/Wednesday is normal timing so you're still in the window.

Mine was delayed last week because I forgot to answer one of the certification questions properly. Had to call and get it fixed. Check your online account for any red flags or incomplete info.

•I'll double check my answers from Sunday. Thanks for the tip!

•Yeah sometimes one wrong click can mess up the whole thing. Super annoying.

THE WHOLE SYSTEM IS A JOKE!! They expect us to survive on nothing while they take their sweet time processing payments. And don't even get me started on trying to reach someone by phone - it's like they don't want to help unemployed people!

•I feel your frustration but yelling doesn't help. The system has issues but most claims do process on time.

•easy for you to say when your rent is due and your payment is MIA

•This is exactly the kind of situation where Claimyr helped me - when I was stressed about a missing payment and couldn't get through normally.

I always get nervous when my payment is even a day late. Last time it happened it was because my employer disputed my claim and it went into adjudication for weeks.

Abigail bergen
•Oh no that sounds terrible! How did you find out about the dispute?

Jamal Brown
•They sent a letter but by the time I got it I'd already missed two weeks of payments. Check your mail!

Quick update for everyone - I just checked my account and the payment posted about an hour ago! Must have just been a processing delay. Thanks everyone for the advice and reassurance.

•If yours is still missing from last week definitely try calling or use that Claimyr service to get through faster.

For future reference, Washington ESD usually posts payments between Monday night and Wednesday morning depending on your bank. Direct deposit is faster than the debit card usually.

•Good to know! I have direct deposit set up so that probably helped.

•Yep, the KeyBank debit card can take an extra day or two sometimes.

•Yeah don't panic right away, seems like normal processing delays happen pretty regularly.
