What time of day does Washington ESD unemployment get deposited into bank account?
I just filed my weekly claim yesterday and it shows as processed, but I'm wondering what time deposits usually hit? My rent is due tomorrow and I'm cutting it close. Does anyone know if Washington ESD deposits come through overnight or during business hours? I have direct deposit set up through my credit union.

Usually see mine hit around 2-3 AM on Tuesday or Wednesday depending on when you filed. Most banks process ACH transfers overnight so you should see it by morning if your claim was approved Monday.

•Thanks! That gives me some hope. Filed Sunday night so hopefully it shows up tomorrow morning.

•Same here, mine always comes through around 3 AM on Tuesday. Set up account alerts and you'll know right away.

depends on your bank too. Chase and Wells Fargo usually post around midnight to 2 AM but smaller banks might be later in the morning

•I have a local credit union so maybe that's why I haven't seen a pattern yet. Still figuring this out.

•Credit unions are usually pretty fast actually. Mine posts Washington ESD deposits same time as my paycheck used to come through when I was working.

The Washington ESD processes payments Monday through Friday during business hours, but the actual deposit time depends on your financial institution. Most direct deposits hit between midnight and 6 AM on the day after processing. If you filed Sunday for the previous week, and it was processed Monday, you should see funds Tuesday morning.

•This is exactly right. Washington ESD sends the payment file to banks Monday-Friday, then it's up to your bank when they post it to your account.

•Good to know about the processing schedule. I was wondering why weekend claims don't seem to get processed until Monday.

honestly if you're waiting last minute for unemployment to pay rent you might want to call Washington ESD and make sure there's no issues with your claim. I had mine delayed for weeks because of an adjudication issue I didn't know about

•How did you get through to them? I've tried calling before and it's always busy or disconnects.

•I used this service called Claimyr that gets you through to an actual person at Washington ESD. Found it at claimyr.com and there's a demo video at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ showing how it works. Super easy to use.

•Never heard of that but anything's better than spending hours on hold just to get disconnected!

My deposits come through Tuesday around 1 AM like clockwork. Been on unemployment for 4 months now and it's always the same time. Bank of America if that helps.

•Lucky! Mine varies between 1-4 AM depending on what's going on. Sometimes comes Wednesday if there's a delay.

•Good to know it's consistent once you get into a pattern. Still new to this whole process.

If you're really worried about timing, you can check your payment history on the secure Washington ESD website. It'll show when payments were issued even if they haven't hit your bank yet.

•Oh that's a good tip! I'll check that later tonight to see if anything shows up.

•Yeah the payment history is helpful. Just log into your account and look under payment information. Shows dates and amounts.

•Haha that's dedication! I just check my phone when I wake up naturally.

•That's pretty specific timing! Makes me feel better that there's some consistency to expect.

PSA: If your deposit is more than a day late, definitely call Washington ESD. Could be an issue with your weekly claim or job search requirements that you need to address.

•This happened to me last month. Turns out I missed logging one of my job searches and it held up my whole payment.

•Good point about the job search thing. I've been keeping track but maybe I should double check my entries.

•The job search requirements are no joke. You need three job search activities per week and they have to be detailed in WorkSourceWA.

Mine used to come Tuesday mornings but last few weeks it's been Wednesday. No idea why the change happened.

•Could be your bank changed their processing schedule. I'd call them to ask about ACH deposit timing.

Kaiya Rivera
•That's weird that it would change randomly. Hopefully mine stays consistent once I figure out the pattern.

If you need to talk to someone at Washington ESD about payment timing or issues, that Claimyr service someone mentioned actually works. I was skeptical but it got me through to an agent in like 10 minutes when I couldn't get through for weeks on my own.

•How much does it cost though? If I'm already broke waiting for unemployment I don't want to pay more fees.

•It's worth it if you really need to talk to someone. Way better than spending all day trying to call and getting nowhere.

•I might try that if my deposit doesn't show up tomorrow. Thanks for the recommendation!

Usually Tuesday morning between 12-6 AM depending on your bank. Washington ESD sends the payment file Monday night and banks process overnight.

•Exactly this. It's not Washington ESD that controls when it hits your account, it's your bank's processing schedule.

•That makes sense. I'll keep an eye out Tuesday morning then. Thanks everyone for the help!

Just wanted to add that if you ever have payment issues, calling Washington ESD directly can take forever. I tried for weeks to get through about a delayed payment and finally used Claimyr to connect with an agent. They have this automated system that calls Washington ESD for you and gets you connected to a real person. Game changer honestly.

•I've heard good things about that service. The Washington ESD phone system is absolutely terrible to navigate.

Most people see deposits Tuesday morning but it can be Wednesday if there's any kind of delay or if you filed late in the week. Don't panic if it's not there Tuesday, just check Wednesday morning too.

•Thanks for the reassurance. I'm probably overthinking this but rent stress is real!

been on unemployment for 6 months now and my deposits are always Tuesday between 1-3 AM. BECU credit union. Pretty reliable timing once you get used to it

•That's encouraging to hear. I'm with a credit union too so hopefully similar timing.

One thing to watch out for - if there's a bank holiday on Monday, everything gets pushed back a day. So Tuesday deposits become Wednesday deposits that week.

Kaiya Rivera
•Oh good point about holidays. I hadn't thought about that affecting the timing.

Santiago Diaz
•Yeah Martin Luther King Day messed up my timing last month. Always check the holiday schedule.

Bottom line: if you filed Sunday night and it was processed Monday, you should see money Tuesday morning. If not Tuesday, then Wednesday. If still nothing Wednesday, time to call Washington ESD and figure out what's wrong.

•Perfect summary! I'll check Tuesday morning and not worry unless it's not there by Wednesday. Thanks everyone!

•Exactly. And if you do need to call, definitely consider using that Claimyr service instead of trying to get through the regular way. Saves so much time and frustration.

•Same here! This whole thread answered questions I didn't even know I had. The timing info is really reassuring - I was worried mine might be delayed but sounds like Tuesday/Wednesday is totally normal. Good luck with your rent tomorrow @Kaiya Rivera!

•Hope your rent situation works out! I just went through this same stress last month. One tip - if you're cutting it close with rent, some landlords are understanding about unemployment timing if you explain the situation and show them your approved claim status. Mine gave me an extra day when I showed the pending payment in my Washington ESD account.

•This is such great advice for anyone new to the system! I wish I had found a thread like this when I first started filing. The uncertainty about timing is probably one of the most stressful parts when you're depending on these payments. @Kaiya Rivera - crossing my fingers your deposit comes through Tuesday morning so you can make rent without any drama!

•Just wanted to add my experience as another data point - I'm with KeyBank and consistently get my Washington ESD deposits at 4:47 AM every Tuesday. It's oddly specific but I've tracked it for months now! The consistency is actually really helpful for budgeting. @Kaiya Rivera hope yours comes through right on schedule tomorrow morning! And thanks everyone for mentioning Claimyr - definitely keeping that in my back pocket in case I ever need to call Washington ESD.

•I'm with BECU and have been tracking my deposits for the past few months - they consistently hit at 2:30 AM on Tuesdays. The timing has been super reliable which really helps with planning. @Kaiya Rivera, since you mentioned you're with a credit union, you'll probably see similar consistency once you get into the pattern. Credit unions tend to be pretty good about processing ACH transfers quickly. Fingers crossed your deposit shows up bright and early tomorrow morning!

•Really appreciate everyone sharing their specific timing experiences! I'm with Spokane Teachers Credit Union and this gives me hope that credit unions are generally reliable with these deposits. The consistency everyone's describing is reassuring - sounds like once you figure out your bank's pattern, you can pretty much count on it. @Kaiya Rivera hope you wake up to good news tomorrow morning! And if not, at least now we all know about that Claimyr service as a backup option for getting through to Washington ESD.

•This has been incredibly helpful! I'm also new to unemployment and was worried about the unpredictability, but seeing everyone's experiences with consistent timing is really reassuring. I'm with a local credit union too, so hopefully I'll see similar reliability. The tip about checking your payment history on the Washington ESD website is great - I didn't know you could track when payments were issued separately from when they hit your bank. @Kaiya Rivera really hoping everything works out with your rent tomorrow! And thanks to everyone who mentioned Claimyr - definitely good to know there s'a reliable way to actually reach someone at Washington ESD if needed.

•This whole conversation has been a lifesaver! I'm also dealing with the stress of timing unemployment payments with bills. Just wanted to add that I'm with Sound Credit Union and my deposits usually hit around 3:15 AM on Tuesdays - very consistent once you learn the pattern. @Kaiya Rivera really hope your deposit comes through tomorrow morning! The rent stress is so real when you re'waiting on these payments. If it doesn t'show up by Wednesday morning, definitely use that Claimyr service everyone s'been recommending rather than trying to call Washington ESD the normal way.

•Adding to the credit union experiences - I'm with Verity Credit Union and my deposits consistently arrive at 1:45 AM every Tuesday. It's been like clockwork for the 3 months I've been filing. @Kaiya Rivera since you re'also with a credit union, you should definitely see it by tomorrow morning if everything processed correctly on Monday. The good news is credit unions tend to be faster than big banks with ACH deposits. Keeping my fingers crossed for you! And yes, definitely save that Claimyr info - the Washington ESD phone system is basically impossible to get through otherwise.
