When does Washington ESD unemployment get deposited into bank accounts?

I just filed my weekly claim on Sunday and I'm wondering when the money actually hits my account. This is my second week claiming and last week I can't remember exactly when it showed up. My rent is due Wednesday and I need to know if I should expect the deposit by then or if I need to make other arrangements. Does Washington ESD have specific days they process payments?

Usually takes 2-3 business days after you file your weekly claim. If you filed Sunday, you should see it Tuesday or Wednesday depending on your bank.

That's cutting it close for my rent but hopefully it comes through Tuesday. Thanks!

My credit union always gets it Tuesday night if I file Sunday morning

Washington ESD processes payments Monday through Wednesday typically. If your claim is approved and there are no issues, direct deposit usually arrives within 2-3 business days. Make sure your banking information is correct in your account.

How do I check if my banking info is right? I set it up when I first applied.

0 coins

Log into your eServices account and go to Payment Method. You can verify or update your direct deposit information there.

0 coins

I've been getting mine every Tuesday like clockwork when I file Sunday nights. But if there's any issue with your claim it can delay the payment. Check your eServices to make sure there's no pending issues.

What kind of issues cause delays? My claim shows processed but I'm paranoid something will go wrong.

0 coins

Usually things like job search requirements not being met, or if they need to verify some information. If it says processed you should be good.

Sometimes the system flags random stuff for review. I had a delay once because I reported working 4 hours and they wanted to verify it wasn't fraud lol

I had issues getting through to Washington ESD when my payments were delayed last month. Ended up using Claimyr to actually reach an agent - they have this system that calls you back when an agent is available instead of sitting on hold forever. The video demo at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ shows how it works. Saved me hours of calling.

0 coins

Never heard of that before. Did they charge you a lot?

0 coins

They focus on getting you connected rather than the cost. Check out claimyr.com - was worth it to actually talk to someone about my delayed payment.

Interesting, I've been calling for days about my adjudication issue with no luck

0 coins

bank of america takes forever, usually wednesday or thursday for me even when others get theirs tuesday

0 coins

Ugh I have BofA too. Guess I better have a backup plan for rent.

0 coins

Big banks are always slower with deposits. Switch to a credit union if you can.

0 coins

Does the deposit come at a specific time of day? I keep checking my account every hour like a crazy person

0 coins

Usually overnight between like 2-6am. No point checking during the day if it's not there in the morning.

0 coins

Good to know, I'll stop obsessively checking my phone app every 20 minutes lol

0 coins

If you need the money urgently and there's a delay, you might want to check if there are any issues with your claim that need resolving. Sometimes adjudication issues can hold up payments without much notice.

0 coins

How would I know if there's an adjudication issue? My claim just says processed.

0 coins

Check your correspondence inbox in eServices. Any issues requiring attention will show up there with instructions.

0 coins

If you can't figure it out from the website, that's when calling becomes necessary. Claimyr helped me get through when I had adjudication confusion.

I've been waiting 4 weeks for my benefits to start due to some identity verification issue. The website doesn't give clear timelines and calling is impossible.

0 coins

Identity verification can take forever. Did you upload all the documents they requested?

0 coins

Yeah I uploaded everything 3 weeks ago. No response since then. It's frustrating.

0 coins

That's exactly the situation where Claimyr helped me. I needed to talk to someone about missing documents but couldn't get through the phone lines.

Pro tip: if you file your weekly claim early Sunday morning you have a better chance of getting paid Tuesday instead of Wednesday

0 coins

Good to know for next week! I filed around 6pm Sunday so maybe that's why it might be delayed.

0 coins

I always file saturday night as soon as the system lets me. Usually get paid tuesday morning.

0 coins

My payment was delayed once because I forgot to do my job search activities. Make sure you're logging your job searches if you're required to do them.

0 coins

Oh shoot I haven't been tracking those. Where do I log job searches?

0 coins

You can log job search activities in WorkSourceWA or through your eServices account. Check your requirements to see how many you need per week.

0 coins

Yeah it's usually 3 job search activities per week unless you're on standby or have a waiver.

0 coins

Washington ESD payments used to be more predictable before all the system changes. Now it seems like timing varies more.

0 coins

Yeah the new system is glitchy. Sometimes payments are super fast, sometimes they take forever for no reason.

0 coins

At least we can file claims online now instead of calling every week like the old days

0 coins

If your payment doesn't show up by Thursday, definitely call Washington ESD. Something is probably wrong that needs fixing.

0 coins

Good advice. Hopefully I won't need to call but it's good to have a timeline.

0 coins

If you do need to call, seriously consider using Claimyr. The regular phone lines are basically impossible to get through on.

0 coins

mine comes tuesday around 3am usually, but last week it was wednesday morning. i think it depends on processing volume

0 coins

That makes sense. Probably more volume at the beginning of the month when everyone's filing.

0 coins

Check your payment history in eServices to see the pattern of your previous deposits. That might give you a better idea of timing for your specific situation.

0 coins

Smart idea! I'll look at that tonight to see if there's a pattern.

0 coins

Yeah the payment history shows both the date Washington ESD sent it and when it actually hit your account

0 coins

I switched from direct deposit to the debit card option and it's actually faster. Might be worth considering if you need more predictable timing.

0 coins

How much faster is the debit card? I've never looked into that option.

0 coins

Usually next business day instead of 2-3 days. Plus you can check the balance online immediately when it's loaded.

0 coins

The debit card has fees though if you use certain ATMs. Read the fine print first.

0 coins

UPDATE: Just wanted to let everyone know my payment hit my account Tuesday morning! Thanks for all the advice about timing.

0 coins

Awesome! Glad it worked out for your rent deadline.

0 coins

That gives me hope mine will come through Tuesday too since I filed Sunday around the same time.
