What is the phone number to Washington ESD unemployment office?
I've been trying to find the right phone number to call Washington ESD about my unemployment claim but I keep getting different numbers online. Some say 833-572-8400, others mention different numbers. Which one actually works? My claim has been pending for 2 weeks and I really need to speak to someone about what's going on with it.

The main Washington ESD customer service line is 833-572-8400. But honestly, good luck getting through. I've been calling for days and either get busy signals or sit on hold for hours before getting disconnected.

•That's exactly what I was afraid of hearing. How long have you been trying to get through?

•About a week now. I call first thing in the morning when they open at 8am but still can't get through.

Yeah 833-572-8400 is correct but the wait times are insane. I finally got through last month after calling literally 50+ times in one day. They're just overwhelmed with call volume.

•50 times?? That's crazy. There has to be a better way to reach them.

•I actually found something that helped me get through way faster. There's this service called Claimyr that calls Washington ESD for you and gets you connected to an actual agent. Check out claimyr.com - they have a demo video at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ that shows how it works.

•Never heard of that before. Does it actually work or is it just another scam?

I tried calling 833-572-8400 yesterday and got through after about 2 hours on hold. The key is to call right at 8am when they open, not later in the day when everyone else is calling.

•2 hours on hold is still pretty rough but at least you got through eventually. What did you need help with?

•Had to verify some employment information for my claim. The agent was actually really helpful once I got connected.

There's also a separate number for technical issues with your online account - 855-682-0785. But that's only for website problems, not claim issues.

•Good to know! I've been having trouble logging into my SAW account lately.

Just wanted to follow up on that Claimyr thing I mentioned earlier. I was skeptical at first too but it actually saved me so much time and frustration. Instead of calling dozens of times myself, they handle all the calling and just connect me when they get an agent on the line. Worth checking out if you're tired of the runaround.

•How much does something like that cost? Sounds too good to be true.

•It's not free but honestly worth it compared to the stress and wasted time of calling yourself. They focus on getting results rather than being the cheapest option.

•I might have to try this. I've been calling for my mom who doesn't speak English well and it's been impossible to get through.

Pro tip: If you do call 833-572-8400, have all your information ready - SSN, claim confirmation number, etc. The agents move fast and don't like waiting while you look stuff up.

•This! I got disconnected once because I couldn't find my claim number fast enough.

•Exactly. They're dealing with hundreds of calls per day so efficiency is key.

I've had better luck calling later in the week, like Thursday or Friday. Mondays are absolutely brutal for getting through to Washington ESD.

•Makes sense. Everyone probably calls on Monday after weekend issues pile up.

•I'll try calling tomorrow then. My claim has been stuck in adjudication for 3 weeks now.

Don't forget you can also try messaging them through your online account, but response times are even worse than phone calls. I submitted a message 2 weeks ago and still haven't heard back.

•Same here. The messaging system seems pretty useless for urgent issues.

For what it's worth, I used that Claimyr service someone mentioned and got connected to Washington ESD in about 20 minutes. Way better than the hours I was spending trying to call myself. Definitely recommend if you're at your wit's end with the phone system.

•20 minutes?? That's amazing compared to what everyone else is saying about wait times.

•Yeah, they basically do all the waiting for you and call you back when they have an agent ready. Super convenient.

Another option is to try calling your local WorkSource office. They can sometimes help with basic questions or at least point you in the right direction.

•Good idea. I forgot about the local offices. Do they handle unemployment stuff too?

•They can help with some things but for claim-specific issues you'll still need to talk to Washington ESD directly.

Just keep trying the main number 833-572-8400. I know it's frustrating but eventually you'll get through. Took me about a week of consistent calling but I finally got my issue resolved.

•Yeah it was rough but worth it in the end. My benefits got straightened out and backpay came through.

Has anyone tried calling really early, like 7:45am before they officially open? Sometimes you can get in queue before the rush hits.

•I don't think their phone system opens until exactly 8am. Tried calling at 7:30 once and got a recording.

•Yeah, 8am sharp is when the lines open. But definitely call right at 8:00 for your best shot.

If your issue is urgent, you might also try contacting your state representative's office. They sometimes have direct lines to Washington ESD that can help expedite things.

•Really? I had no idea state reps could help with unemployment issues.

•Yeah, they have constituent services that can sometimes help navigate bureaucratic issues. Worth a shot if you're really stuck.

Bottom line: 833-572-8400 is the right number but be prepared for a long wait or multiple attempts. The Washington ESD phone system is just overwhelmed. Those third-party calling services like Claimyr might be worth it if you value your time and sanity.

•Thanks everyone for all the advice! I'll try calling early tomorrow morning and if that doesn't work I might look into that Claimyr thing.
