What is the phone number for unemployment Washington ESD - can't find it anywhere
I've been searching everywhere for the main Washington ESD phone number to call about my unemployment claim but I keep finding different numbers that either don't work or just play a recording. My claim has been pending for 2 weeks and I really need to talk to someone. Does anyone know the actual number that gets you through to a real person? I've tried the general customer service line but it just hangs up on me after being on hold forever.

The main Washington ESD customer service number is 800-318-6022 but good luck getting through. I've been trying for days and either get disconnected or the system says they're too busy to take calls.

•Thanks! I'll try that number. How long did you usually wait on hold when you did get through?

•When I actually stayed connected, it was usually 45 minutes to over an hour. Most of the time I just got hung up on though.

There's also 833-572-8400 for technical issues with your account, and 800-246-9763 for employers. But honestly the phone system is completely overloaded. I spent 3 hours yesterday trying to get through about my adjudication and never reached anyone.

•Is the technical support line any better for getting through? My issue might be more technical since my weekly claims aren't showing up properly.

•Not really, it's the same overloaded system. You might have better luck early in the morning like 8 AM sharp when they open.

•I tried the 8 AM thing and still got disconnected after 20 minutes. This system is broken.

I was struggling with the same problem last month - couldn't get through to Washington ESD no matter what number I called. Then someone told me about Claimyr.com which actually calls FOR you and gets you connected to an ESD agent. I was skeptical but tried it and got through in like 15 minutes. They have a video demo at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ that shows how it works.

•Wait, so they actually call Washington ESD for you? How does that work exactly?

Aria Park
•Yeah, you give them your info and they handle all the calling and waiting. When they get an agent on the line, they connect you. Saved me hours of frustration trying to get through myself.

•That sounds too good to be true. Is it legit? I'm desperate but don't want to get scammed.

•I thought the same thing but it worked for me. They're not asking for your SSN or anything crazy, just basic contact info so they can call you back when they get an agent.

ugh the phone situation is ridiculous!! I've been calling for THREE WEEKS about my disqualification letter and can't get through to anyone. How are we supposed to appeal or get help if they won't answer their phones???

•Have you tried using the secure messaging system in your eServices account? Sometimes that works better than calling.

•I sent a message 10 days ago and haven't heard anything back. This whole system is a joke.

For what it's worth, here are all the Washington ESD phone numbers I've collected: 800-318-6022 (general), 833-572-8400 (technical), 800-246-9763 (employer line), and 855-682-0785 (job search services). None of them are easy to get through to but those are the official numbers.

•Thank you for the complete list! I'm going to try them all starting first thing Monday morning.

•I've tried all those numbers multiple times. The job search services one might be a little less busy if your question is about WorkSourceWA requirements.

This is exactly why I hate dealing with government agencies. They make it impossible to reach them and then wonder why people are frustrated. I've wasted so much time trying to call about my pending adjudication.

•I feel you. It's like they designed the system to discourage people from calling for help.

Lucas Notre-Dame
•Right?? And then they expect us to just wait indefinitely while our bills pile up.

Pro tip: if you do get through, have ALL your information ready - claim number, SSN, employment history, whatever you think they might ask for. Nothing worse than finally reaching an agent and then having to put them on hold while you find paperwork.

Ava Kim
•Good point! What specific information should I have ready? I don't want to mess up my one chance if I get through.

Layla Mendes
•Definitely your claim number, social security number, recent employer info, and any correspondence numbers from letters they've sent you. Also have your calendar ready in case they want to schedule a phone interview.

I actually got through last week using the 800-318-6022 number but I called at exactly 8:00 AM on Tuesday. Took about 30 minutes on hold but I did reach a real person. They helped me with my weekly claim issue pretty quickly once I got connected.

Ava Kim
•That gives me hope! Was there anything specific you did or just lucky timing?

Alicia Stern
•I think it was mostly timing. I called right when they opened and didn't hang up even when it said they were experiencing high call volume.

•I'm going to try that exact same approach tomorrow morning. Tuesday at 8 AM sharp!

Has anyone tried that Claimyr service that was mentioned earlier? I'm curious if it actually works or if it's just another way to waste money when you're already broke from being unemployed.

•I used it about a month ago when I couldn't get through about my standby status. It actually worked - they got me connected to an ESD agent in about 20 minutes. Was worth it to me since I'd already wasted hours trying to call myself.

•Ok that's two people saying it worked. Maybe I should check out that video demo they mentioned.

•I'm still skeptical but at this point I'm willing to try anything. Been trying to reach ESD for over a month about my overpayment notice.

The phone system has been terrible since COVID started and they've never fixed it. I remember when you could actually get through to someone without spending your entire day on hold. Now it's like winning the lottery just to reach a human.

•Exactly! It used to take maybe 15-20 minutes to get through. Now it's hours if you're lucky enough not to get disconnected.

•And they wonder why people get frustrated and give up on their claims. The system is designed to wear you down.

I work in customer service and I feel bad for the ESD agents too. They're probably just as frustrated as we are dealing with an overwhelmed system. But that doesn't help us get our claims resolved.

Ava Kim
•That's a good point. I'm sure the agents are doing their best with what they have to work with.

•Maybe, but they need to hire more people or fix the phone system. This has been going on way too long.

For anyone still trying, I've had the best luck calling the 800-318-6022 number right at lunch time around 12:30 PM. Seems like fewer people are calling then and I've gotten through twice using that timing.

Ava Kim
•Interesting! I wouldn't have thought lunch time would be better. I'll try that if the early morning approach doesn't work.

•That's actually smart thinking. Most people probably call first thing in the morning or right after work.

Just want to add that if you're calling about job search requirements, the WorkSourceWA offices can sometimes help too. They have their own phone lines and might be less busy than the main ESD number.

•Good tip! My issue is more about claim status but I'll keep that in mind for future reference.

•What's the WorkSourceWA number? I have questions about my job search log.

•It varies by location but you can find your local office number on the WorkSourceWA website. They're usually more accessible than the main ESD line.

UPDATE: I just tried the Claimyr service and got connected to a Washington ESD agent in 18 minutes! Finally got my adjudication issue resolved. I should have tried this weeks ago instead of wasting so much time calling myself.

Ava Kim
•That's awesome! I'm definitely going to check them out. Did they ask for a lot of personal information?

Sophia Russo
•Just basic contact info so they could call me back when they got an agent. Nothing that felt sketchy or unsafe.

•Ok you've convinced me. Going to try Claimyr tonight. Thanks for the update!

been calling for 6 weeks about my pending payment and nothing. this is ridiculous how long do they expect us to wait??

•6 weeks is way too long. Have you tried contacting your state representative's office? Sometimes they can help with ESD issues.

•no i didn't know that was an option how do i find my representative?

•You can look it up on the Washington State Legislature website. Enter your address and it'll show your district and representatives.

The key with any of these numbers is persistence. Don't give up after one busy signal or disconnect. I usually set aside a whole morning and just keep redialing until I get through. It sucks but sometimes that's what it takes.

•That's dedication! I don't know if I have the patience for that but I might have to try it.

•I did that for 4 hours straight last week and never got through. Sometimes the system is just completely overloaded.

Thanks everyone for all the numbers and tips. I'm going to start with trying the 8 AM approach tomorrow and if that doesn't work I'll check out the Claimyr option. This thread has been more helpful than anything I found on the official ESD website!

I've been dealing with the same frustrating phone situation for weeks now! After reading through all these comments, I'm going to try a combination approach - start with the 8 AM sharp method on the main 800-318-6022 line, and if that doesn't work after a few days, I'll give that Claimyr service a shot. It's encouraging to see multiple people had success with it. Has anyone tried calling later in the evening, like after 4 PM? Sometimes government offices are less busy toward the end of the day when people are getting off work.

•That's a smart combination approach! I hadn't thought about trying later in the evening - that's actually a really good point about people getting off work. The ESD lines are open until 4:30 PM on weekdays, so calling around 3:30-4:00 PM might catch that sweet spot when the morning rush has died down but before they close. Let me know how the 8 AM method works out for you first though - I'm planning to try that myself this week!
