What number do I call for Washington ESD unemployment help?
I've been trying to get help with my unemployment claim but I can't figure out what number to call for Washington ESD. Every time I google it I get different numbers and when I call them I either get disconnected or put on hold forever. Does anyone know the actual phone number that works? My claim has been pending for 2 weeks and I really need to talk to someone.

The main Washington ESD customer service number is 833-572-8400. But honestly, good luck getting through - I've been trying for days and either get busy signals or hung up on after waiting for hours.

•Thanks! I'll try that number. Did you ever get through to anyone?

•Nope, still haven't talked to a real person. It's so frustrating when you need help with your claim.

I tried calling that number too and waited 3 hours before giving up. There's also 800-318-6022 but that one seems to be even worse.

•3 hours?! That's insane. How are people supposed to get help with their unemployment claims?

•Right? And they tell you to call during non-peak hours but every hour seems to be peak.

I actually found a service called Claimyr that helped me get through to Washington ESD agents. You go to claimyr.com and they basically call for you and get you connected. Saved me so much time and frustration trying to get through on my own.

•Really? How does that work exactly? Is it legit?

•Yeah it's totally legit. They have a video demo at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ that shows how it works. Basically they handle all the calling and waiting for you.

•I'm always skeptical of third-party services but if it actually works...

The best time I've found to call Washington ESD is right at 8am when they open. I got through once doing that but it still took 45 minutes on hold.

•Good tip! I'll try calling right at 8am tomorrow.

•I tried that strategy too but still couldn't get through. Maybe I need to call the second they open.

This is ridiculous. How is Washington ESD so understaffed that nobody can get through? My claim has been in adjudication for a month and I can't even talk to someone about it.

•Same here! A month in adjudication and no way to get answers. The whole system is broken.

•I think they're still dealing with backlogs from all the unemployment claims. But that doesn't help us who need help now.

I actually used that Claimyr service someone mentioned and it worked great. Got connected to a Washington ESD agent in about 20 minutes instead of spending all day trying to call myself.

•Okay that's two people saying it works. Maybe I should try it.

•Yeah, it was worth it for me. The agent was able to explain why my claim was delayed and what I needed to do to fix it.

Has anyone tried going to a WorkSource office in person? Sometimes that can be faster than calling.

•I went to my local WorkSource but they said they can't access Washington ESD claims directly. They can only help with job search stuff.

•Oh that's disappointing. I thought they might be able to help with claim issues too.

The phone system is definitely broken. I've been trying for weeks to get help with an overpayment notice and can't reach anyone at Washington ESD.

•Overpayment notices are serious - you definitely need to talk to someone about that before the deadline.

•I know! That's why I'm so frustrated. The deadline is approaching and I can't get through to appeal it.

Try calling 833-572-8400 and pressing 1 for English, then 2 for unemployment claims, then 1 again. That's the path I used when I finally got through.

•Thanks for the specific menu path! I'll try that.

•Good info. Sometimes knowing the exact button sequence helps get through faster.

I heard that calling during lunch hours (12-1pm) sometimes works better because fewer people are calling then. Haven't tried it myself though.

•That's interesting. I always assumed lunch time would be busier but maybe not for government offices.

•Yeah, the theory is that most people call in the morning or after work, so midday might be less busy.

Just wanted to update - I tried Claimyr after seeing it mentioned here and it actually worked! Got connected to Washington ESD and resolved my adjudication issue. Thanks to whoever recommended it!

•That's great news! I'm definitely going to try it now.

•Awesome, glad you got your issue resolved. How long did the whole process take?

•From start to finish maybe 30 minutes. Way better than the hours I was spending trying to call myself.

For what it's worth, I also tried calling the legislative hotline to complain about not being able to reach Washington ESD. They said they're getting a lot of complaints about the phone system.

•Good idea to complain to legislators. Maybe if enough people do it they'll fix the phone system.

Jay Lincoln
•Exactly. The more pressure they get, the more likely they are to address the staffing issues.

I keep getting disconnected after waiting for 2+ hours. It's like the system just hangs up on you automatically.

Lily Young
•Same thing happens to me! I think there's a time limit before it disconnects you.

Marcus Williams
•So frustrating. All that time wasted just to get hung up on.

Has anyone tried calling the employer hotline by mistake? I did that once and got through immediately, but they couldn't help with my claim obviously.

•Ha! At least you got through to someone, even if they couldn't help.

•Right? It was nice to hear a human voice for once, even if it was the wrong department.
