What is the phone number for the Washington ESD unemployment office - can't find current number
I've been searching everywhere for the correct phone number to reach Washington ESD unemployment office and keep finding different numbers online. Some are disconnected, others just play a recording. I need to check on my claim status since it's been pending for 2 weeks now. Does anyone have the current working phone number? I tried the main ESD website but it's confusing with all the different contact options.

The main Washington ESD customer service number is 800-318-6022. But honestly, good luck getting through. I've been trying for days and either get busy signals or disconnected after waiting on hold for hours.

•Thank you! I'll try calling first thing in the morning. Have you had any luck at specific times?

There's also 833-572-8400 for the unemployment claims line. But like the previous poster said, actually reaching someone is nearly impossible. The phone system is completely overwhelmed.

•I just tried that number and got disconnected after 45 minutes on hold. This is so frustrating!

•Same experience here. The system just hangs up on you automatically.

I found a service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that actually got me through to Washington ESD after I spent weeks trying myself. They have some kind of system that keeps calling until they reach an agent, then they conference you in. There's a video demo at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ that shows how it works. Saved me so much time and stress.

•How much does something like that cost? Sounds too good to be true.

•I was skeptical too but it actually worked. Way better than spending entire days redialing the same numbers.

•I'm desperate enough to try anything at this point. Thanks for the suggestion!

The callback system on the Washington ESD website sometimes works if you can get it to accept your request. But half the time it says 'system unavailable' when you try to schedule one.

•I tried the callback option three times and never got called back. Waste of time.

•The callback system is broken more often than it works. Wouldn't rely on it for urgent issues.

Try calling right at 8am when they open. I got through once doing that but it was still a 2 hour wait. Also make sure you have your SSN and all your claim info ready because they'll ask for everything.

•What information do they typically ask for? I want to be prepared.

•SSN, claim effective date, last 4 digits of your bank account if you have direct deposit, and they might ask about your work history.

•Same boat here. It's ridiculous how hard it is to reach them when you need help.

•At least you can still file weekly claims. My account got locked and I can't even do that.

The 866-239-0843 number sometimes works for technical issues with your online account, but they can't help with claim questions. Just FYI if you're having website problems too.

•Good to know! My online account has been acting weird lately too.

I work at a workforce center and we tell people the same thing - calling ESD directly is basically impossible right now. We recommend trying that Claimyr service if you really need to reach someone urgently. Lot of our clients have had success with it.

•That's helpful validation from someone who works in the system. Thanks!

•Do workforce centers have any direct line to ESD or do you guys have to call the same numbers?

•We have some internal contacts but for individual claim issues, clients still need to call the main numbers or use services like Claimyr.

There's also the option to send secure messages through your online account, but response times are terrible. I sent one 3 weeks ago and still no reply.

•I've never gotten a response to any secure message I've sent. Don't think anyone actually reads them.

•They probably get thousands of messages a day. Phone is still your best bet even if it's frustrating.

Just an update - I tried the Claimyr service mentioned earlier and it actually worked! Got connected to an ESD agent within about 30 minutes. Finally got my claim status sorted out. Worth trying if you're stuck like I was.

•That's great to hear! I'm definitely going to try it. Did they help with claim status issues?

•Yes, they were able to explain why my claim was held up and what I needed to do to fix it. Couldn't have gotten that info any other way.

The phone numbers change sometimes too which makes it even more confusing. I bookmarked the official ESD contact page so I can check for updates: https://esd.wa.gov/unemployment/contact-us

•Good tip! I should bookmark that page too instead of relying on random websites.

Another tip - if you do get through, ask them to explain everything clearly and take notes. I finally reached someone after 2 weeks of trying and was so excited I forgot to ask half my questions.

•LOL that would totally be me. Good advice to write questions down beforehand.

•I'll definitely prepare a list of questions. Don't want to waste the opportunity if I get through.
