What's the number to the Washington ESD unemployment office - can't find current contact info
I've been searching everywhere for the current phone number to reach Washington ESD unemployment office and I'm getting different numbers on different websites. Some are disconnected, others just ring forever. I need to check on my claim status but can't figure out which number actually works. Does anyone have the real current number that actually connects you to someone?

The main Washington ESD customer service number is 833-572-8400, but good luck getting through. I've been trying for weeks and either get busy signals or sit on hold for hours before getting disconnected.

•Thanks! I'll try that number. How early do you call to have better luck getting through?

•I start calling right at 8am when they open but even then it's hit or miss

That 833 number is correct but there's also 800-318-6022 for technical issues with your account. Both are pretty much impossible to reach though.

•I tried both numbers yesterday and couldn't get through on either one. This is ridiculous.

I actually found a solution for this exact problem! I was spending hours trying to reach Washington ESD and getting nowhere. Someone told me about Claimyr - it's a service that calls unemployment offices for you and gets you connected to an actual agent. Check out claimyr.com, they have a video demo at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ that shows how it works. Saved me so much time and frustration.

•Interesting, never heard of that before. Does it actually work for Washington ESD calls?

•Yeah it worked great for me. They handle all the calling and waiting, then connect you when they get through to an agent. Much better than sitting on hold for hours.

•Sounds too good to be true but at this point I'm desperate enough to try anything

•Same here! My claim has been stuck in adjudication since last month and I can't reach anyone to find out what's happening.

Try calling the employer services line at 855-829-9243 - sometimes they can transfer you to regular customer service and the wait times are shorter.

•That's actually clever, didn't think of trying a different department first

•Yeah it doesn't always work but worth a shot when the main lines are jammed

I've had success calling right at lunchtime around 12:30pm. Seems like fewer people are calling then and I've gotten through a couple times.

•Really? I always assumed lunch would be busy too. I'll try that tomorrow.

•It's hit or miss but definitely better odds than calling first thing in the morning when everyone else is trying

THE WHOLE SYSTEM IS A JOKE! I've been calling for MONTHS trying to get my overpayment issue resolved and can't reach a human being. These phone numbers are useless when no one ever answers!

•I feel your pain. The customer service situation is absolutely terrible right now.

•It's like they don't want us to be able to contact them! How are we supposed to resolve issues if we can't talk to anyone?

Quick tip - if you do get through, ask for a direct callback number. Some agents can schedule you for a callback instead of making you call back.

•That's good to know! I never thought to ask about callbacks.

•Not all agents offer it but some do, especially if your issue is complex and might take multiple calls to resolve

I heard from my cousin that Claimyr thing actually works pretty well. She used it last month when she was having issues with her weekly claims not going through. Said it was way easier than trying to call herself.

•How much does something like that cost though?

Nina Fitzgerald
•I'm not sure about the cost but she said it was worth it just to avoid the headache of calling over and over

•Yeah I'm definitely going to check out that Claimyr site someone mentioned earlier

For what it's worth, the 833-572-8400 number is definitely the right one for regular unemployment claims. The other numbers floating around are either old or for specific departments.

•Good to confirm that. I was getting confused with all the different numbers people were posting online.

•Yeah stick with the 833 number for general claims issues, just be prepared for long wait times or busy signals

Update: I tried that Claimyr service someone mentioned and it actually worked! They got me connected to a Washington ESD agent in about 30 minutes. Way better than the 3+ hours I was spending trying to call myself.

•That's awesome! I might have to try that too since regular calling isn't working for me.

•Definitely recommend it if you're stuck like I was. The agent was able to clear up my claim issue right away.

Sometimes I wonder if they deliberately make it hard to reach them. Like they're hoping people will just give up and stop calling.

•Honestly wouldn't surprise me at this point. The whole system seems designed to frustrate people.

•Right? And then when you finally do get through, half the time they tell you to call back because they can't help with your specific issue.

Pro tip: Have all your information ready before you call - SSN, claim confirmation number, recent work history, etc. Nothing worse than finally getting through and then having to hang up because you don't have what they need.

•Yeah I keep a little cheat sheet with all my unemployment info so I'm ready whenever I get lucky enough to reach someone

The automated system is pretty useless too. Half the time it just tells you to go online, but online doesn't help when you need to actually talk to someone about a specific problem.

•So true. The automated options never seem to match the actual issue you're having.

Austin Leonard
•Exactly! It's like they designed it to discourage people from actually reaching a human agent.

Just to summarize for anyone still reading - the main Washington ESD number is 833-572-8400. Expect long waits or busy signals. Alternative approaches include calling at off-peak times, trying the employer services line first, or using a service like Claimyr to handle the calling for you.

•Thanks for the summary! This thread has been really helpful. I'm going to try a few of these suggestions.

•Good luck! Hopefully one of these approaches works better for you than just calling the main number over and over.
