If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

My advice would be to really think hard about whether quitting is worth it. Even if you technically qualify based on work history, proving good cause for quitting is really difficult. Washington ESD will scrutinize every detail.

Yeah I'm starting to realize quitting might not be the best option. Maybe I should try to work things out at my current job first.

0 coins

That's probably wise. Unemployment benefits are really meant for people who lose their jobs through no fault of their own.

If you do end up needing to contact Washington ESD for any reason, definitely consider using that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier. I spent literally days trying to get through on the phone before finding out about it.

0 coins

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind if I need to call them.

The silver lining is that historically these high unemployment phases don't last forever. Usually 12-24 months max before recovery begins.

0 coins

Easy to say when you're not waiting for unemployment benefits to pay rent.

0 coins

True, just trying to provide some perspective. The immediate problem is still getting claims processed.

0 coins

Bottom line - this economic downturn caught Washington ESD unprepared and now we're all paying the price with delayed claims and impossible phone lines.

0 coins

They should have learned from 2008 and 2020 to build better surge capacity.

0 coins

exactly, this isn't the first recession they've dealt with

Just to summarize for anyone else reading this: File as soon as possible after your last day of work, have your employment history ready, and don't overthink it. The Washington ESD system will guide you through the process.

0 coins

Perfect summary! That covers all the main points from this discussion.

Glad this thread was helpful for everyone. Good luck to all who need to file claims!

Also remember that if you have questions after filing, you can always call Washington ESD or use services like Claimyr if you need help getting through. Don't let confusion stop you from getting the benefits you're entitled to.

0 coins

Absolutely. It's good to know there are options if I need help navigating the system.

Lim Wong

Exactly. The important thing is to file your claim and then work through any issues that come up.

One more tip - set up direct deposit when you file your claim. Paper checks take longer and can get lost in the mail. Direct deposit is usually processed within 2-3 business days.

0 coins

Good to know. I definitely want to get paid as fast as possible once I'm approved.

Final reminder that benefit amounts can change if you have any earnings during the week. Even small amounts of work need to be reported on your weekly claim or you could face an overpayment later.

0 coins

yeah i had to pay back money because i didnt report some odd jobs i did. they eventually find out everything

0 coins

I'll make sure to report everything. The last thing I need is to owe them money back.

0 coins

remember to keep filing your weekly claims even if you think you might have found work. dont skip weeks unless you're absolutely sure about the job. missed weekly claims can complicate things

0 coins

This is important. You can always report work and wages on your weekly claim, but if you skip filing and then don't get the job, it can create issues with your claim continuity.

Bottom line: 26 weeks maximum within your benefit year in Washington. No extensions currently available. Plan accordingly and keep doing your job searches to maintain eligibility. The system isn't perfect but it's what we have.

Thanks everyone for all the explanations. This makes much more sense now than when I started this thread!

Glad we could help. The ESD website really doesn't explain this stuff clearly at all.
