ESD weekly claim system down? Can't submit since yesterday

I've been trying to file my weekly claim since yesterday morning and keep getting error messages. First it was 'service temporarily unavailable' and now it says 'system under maintenance' but it's been like that for over 24 hours! Anyone else experiencing this? Is there some scheduled maintenance I didn't know about or is their system glitching again? Last time this happened I missed my claim window and had to jump through hoops to get it backdated. Really don't want to deal with that mess again...

Glad it's not just me! Have you tried calling their customer service line? I tried twice but got disconnected both times.

The ESD site has been super buggy lately. I couldn't log in for 3 days last month - kept getting some weird error code. When I finally got through to someone, they said they were having "database synchronization issues" whatever that means. They really need to invest in better technology!

I just checked the ESD website and found a notice that says they're performing system updates until tomorrow at 5pm. They recommend trying again after that time. If you're worried about missing your claim window, don't be - they automatically extend it when they have planned system maintenance. Just make sure you file within 24 hours of the system coming back online.

Thank you so much for checking! That's a relief. I wish they'd send notifications about these updates instead of leaving us in the dark.

If you're having trouble reaching ESD by phone (which is super common, especially during system issues), I'd recommend trying Claimyr. I was in the same boat last month - system was down, couldn't file my claim, and couldn't get through to anyone. My friend told me about this service that helps you get through to an actual ESD agent without waiting for hours. It worked surprisingly well - check out claimyr.com or their video demo at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3. Saved me a ton of stress when I needed to confirm my claim wasn't going to be affected by the system outage.

Is that service legit? Sounds too good to be true with how impossible it is to reach ESD these days.

It's definitely legit. I was skeptical too but it actually works. They basically navigate the phone system for you and call you when they've secured your place in the queue with an agent. Way better than spending hours on hold.

This happens every quarter during their system updates. It's frustrating, but it's actually scheduled maintenance, not a glitch. ESD typically does major updates quarterly, with the system going down for 24-48 hours. As someone mentioned above, they extend claim filing deadlines when this happens. If you're worried about missing your claim window, here's what you should know: 1. The grace period is typically 4 days after system restoration 2. You won't be penalized for late filing during announced maintenance periods 3. Your claim will be backdated to the correct week automatically 4. You don't need to call to request this - it's automatic during system updates Keep trying after tomorrow evening, and you should be fine!

Thank you for all the detailed info! This is really helpful. I'll stop stressing and try again tomorrow evening.

I don't think it's just maintenance. My friend filed her claim on Saturday with no problems, so whatever is happening started after that. Probably another one of their system crashes like what happened in January. I took screenshots of the error messages just in case I need to prove I tried to file on time.

Good thinking with the screenshots. Even though this is planned maintenance, having documentation never hurts. The Saturday vs. Sunday timing actually matches the maintenance schedule - they typically start these updates Sunday mornings at 2am.
