ESD payment timing: Got first week, waiting on next two - when to expect payment?

Hey everyone, finally some progress after that long wait! My unemployment claim was approved last week after being in adjudication for nearly 2 months (ugh). I got my first payment for week ending 4/5/25 deposited yesterday ($625 after taxes). I've already filed my weekly claims for the weeks ending 4/12 and 4/19, and both show as 'processed - paid' on eServices, but no money has hit my account yet. Is there typically a delay between the first payment and subsequent ones? The ESD website is so vague about timelines. I'm trying to budget for rent next month and need to know when I can expect these funds. Thanks!

Congrats on getting through adjudication! For the first payment, there's typically a waiting week that you don't get paid for (unless they waived it for some reason), so that might be what you're seeing. After that initial payment, the regular weekly benefits usually take 2-3 business days to deposit once they show as 'processed - paid' in the system. So if they just changed to that status today or yesterday, give it until the end of the week. If it's been showing as processed for more than 3 business days, there might be an issue with your payment method or bank.

Thanks! The waiting week makes sense - they did count that for me. The status changed to 'processed - paid' yesterday morning, so hopefully I'll see it by Friday. Do they typically come as separate deposits or as one lump sum for multiple weeks?

Thanks! That's reassuring. Just anxious because I need to pay rent soon.

Glad you finally got approved! The ESD system is so weird sometimes. My payments always come like clockwork now but the first few weeks were super unpredictable.

The payment process typically works like this: you file your weekly claim, it goes into processing status, then changes to \

I didn't report any earnings, but I did answer the job search questions differently because I had interviews the second week but not the first. Could that cause a delay? I don't see any new notices.

Reporting job search activities shouldn't cause delays - that's expected and normal. If there are no notices and it's showing as \

OMG I waited FOREVER to even talk to someone at ESD about my late payments!!! I was calling literally 50+ times a day and couldn't get through. It was insane. Finally used this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that got me connected to an actual ESD agent in less than an hour. They had a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3. Turns out there was a flag on my account that was delaying all my payments even though everything showed as

sounds like a scam to me. why would you pay to talk to ESD when you can call them for free??

Not a scam - just saved me hours of calling. After 3 weeks of not getting through on the regular line and bills piling up, it was worth it to me. Just sharing what worked when I got desperate.

I might try this if I don't see the money by next week. Right now I'm still in the normal timeframe I guess, but it's stressful when you don't know exactly when it's coming.

THE WHOLE SYSTEM IS DESIGNED TO MAKE PEOPLE GIVE UP!!! I went through this exact thing last year and my second and third payments were randomly delayed for TWO WEEKS with NO EXPLANATION even though they showed as PAID! When I finally got through to someone they said it was a \

Oh no, that's what I'm afraid of! Did you end up getting all your payments eventually? I really hope this doesn't happen to me.

Yeah I finally got them but only after calling like 100 times. They backdated everything so I got paid eventually but it was WAY TOO STRESSFUL. The worst part is they act like its totally normal for payments to be random!

Just to give you some peace of mind - in most cases, once you've been approved and your first payment has arrived, the system runs much more smoothly. The vast majority of people receive their payments within the 2-3 business day window after the \

Thanks! This waiting is just nerve-wracking since I've already waited so long for the approval. I double-checked and the bank account info is correct, so hopefully it's just processing through the banking system. I'll give it until Monday before I start worrying.

my cousin works for a bank and she says ACH transfers always take 2-3 days after they get sent no matter what. even if esd sends it right away the banks hold it for processing time

Just following up - did your payments come through yet? If it's been more than 3 business days since the \

Yes! Both payments finally arrived this morning as separate deposits. You were right about the timing - exactly 3 business days after showing as processed. Such a relief! Thanks everyone for your help and reassurance!
