If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

I'm in a similar situation! I did yard work for a neighbor and wasn't sure how to report it. The ESD website is SO confusing. Did your benefit amount get reduced by exactly how much you earned from the subbing job? That's what I'm worried about - if I report $50 for mowing a lawn, do they just subtract that from my weekly benefit?

0 coins

Yes, that's exactly how it works. If your weekly benefit is $650 and you earn $50 mowing lawns, you'll receive $600 for that week. Remember though, you need to report gross earnings (before any taxes), not what you actually take home.

One additional note - make sure you're also listing this work as one of your job search activities for the week! Many people forget that work you actually perform (even part-time or one-day) counts as a job search activity. This helps you meet your 3 required activities per week.

Wait, I can count the substitute teaching as one of my job search activities? I had no idea! That's super helpful since I was scrambling to get all three in this week.

The ESD system is DESIGNED to be difficult to navigate. They WANT people to give up so they don't have to pay out benefits. I've been through 3 claims over the years and every single time they find some ridiculous reason to put you in adjudication. Last time they claimed I didn't provide enough job search evidence even though I uploaded everything correctly!!! Took 12 weeks and threatening to contact my state representative before they finally paid me what they owed. The whole system is broken and nobody in Olympia seems to care.

i don't think its a conspiracy but ya the system is definitely outdated. my friend works at dshs and says esd is using computer systems from like 1995 lol

FINAL UPDATE: My claim was approved today and all my pending payments were released! $4,870 total for the 4 weeks. Such a massive relief. For anyone else stuck in adjudication, definitely check your notices for any fact-finding questionnaires and make sure to respond to those ASAP. That was the main holdup for me. Thank you all again for your advice and support during this stressful time!

UPDATE: I wanted to thank everyone for their help! I went to WorkSource and got connected with their Dislocated Worker program. They're helping me enhance my resume and connected me with some temp agencies that work specifically with admin assistants. I also applied for food benefits and energy assistance. I also managed to get through to ESD using that Claimyr service someone mentioned above. The agent was super helpful and confirmed I can't get an extension but said I should continue filing weekly claims even after my benefits run out (something about keeping my claim active for tax purposes and in case any emergency extensions get approved later). Still stressed about money but at least I have a plan now. Thanks again everyone!

That's great news about the Dislocated Worker program! And yes, continuing to file weekly claims is smart - it maintains your claim status and proves ongoing eligibility should any extensions become available. Good luck with your job search!

My cousin works at a staffing place and says the admin market is picking up for summer when people take vacations. Dont give up!!

This whole system is designed to make people give up!!! i had a friend who got disqualified for 7 weeks straight and he just stopped filing because it was so frustrating. dont give up!!!

UPDATE: I finally got through to someone at ESD today! Turns out there was an employer response questioning my availability for work because I had mentioned potentially taking some classes during my exit interview. The ESD agent put me in for adjudication review and said I should continue filing weekly claims while they investigate. She said it could take 3-4 weeks for the adjudication to complete, but that I should receive all back payments if it's decided in my favor. I'm still going to file an appeal just to be safe (within the 30-day window). Thank you everyone for your advice and support!

wow good detective work! how did u actually manage to get through to someone? i've been trying for days

I actually tried that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier. It worked exactly as described - took about 90 minutes but I actually got to speak to a real person. Worth it considering I'd wasted hours trying to get through on my own.

I work at a WorkSource center and can confirm the main ESD unemployment claims number is now 833-572-8400. The 6022 number is still active but primarily for employer services and informational purposes rather than claim support. For "able and available" issues specifically, you might also want to check if you received a questionnaire in your eServices account. Sometimes they send those instead of requiring a phone call. Look under "Pending Issues" in your account dashboard. If you have one, filling it out completely might resolve the issue without needing to call. If you do need to call, the best times are typically Tuesday-Thursday between a:30-10:30am or 2:30-4:00pm when call volumes tend to be lower.

Thank you for the insider info! I just checked my eServices account again and you're right - there was a questionnaire that I completely missed. It was under a tab I hadn't noticed before. Really appreciate your help!

UPDATE: I finally got this resolved! For anyone with the same issue - the new number is indeed 833-572-8400. I called at 8:15am and selected option 2, then 3 as suggested above. Wait time was about 35 minutes, but I finally spoke with someone who could help. Turns out the "able and available" flag was because I mentioned a doctor's appointment in my weekly claim. The agent cleared it after I explained it was just a one-time appointment that wouldn't affect my availability for work. Payment should be processed within 48 hours. Thanks everyone for your help! This forum saved my sanity.

Great news! Thanks for updating the thread with what worked. That will definitely help others who search for this issue in the future.

So glad you got it figured out! The whole system is so confusing and it's ridiculous how one little thing can hold up your benefits for weeks.
