Anyone know if there's a deadline for when Washington ESD has to send out the 1099-G forms? I'm still waiting for mine and getting nervous.
Final thought for anyone reading this later: keep good records of your unemployment payments throughout the year. Don't wait until tax season to figure out what you received. Makes everything so much easier.
Last thing - if you do get approved for partial benefits, remember that you'll still need to file your weekly claims every week and report any income. Miss a week and you could lose your benefits entirely.
Hope you get through and get your issue resolved! The phone system is frustrating but once you actually talk to an agent they're usually pretty helpful.
Just wanted to add - if you do end up using Claimyr, they'll call you back when they get an agent on the line so you don't have to sit by the phone waiting. Made it much less stressful for me.
One last piece of advice - if you do apply and get approved, make sure you understand the weekly claim requirements. You'll need to file every week and report any work or earnings. Missing a week can cause delays in your benefits.
This has been a really helpful thread. I was in a similar situation and wasn't sure about applying. Now I feel confident enough to give it a try. Thanks everyone!

Bottom line: You paid into unemployment insurance through your paychecks. It's your money being returned to you during unemployment, not government assistance.

•That's the clearest way to think about it - it's insurance I paid for, not a handout.
