If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

The whole system seems designed to be confusing honestly. I spent hours reading Washington ESD publications trying to understand my calculation. Finally just accepted that $487 was what I qualified for.

I feel you. The bureaucracy is frustrating but at least the weekly amount is decent compared to some other states.

That's exactly why services like Claimyr exist. Sometimes you just need to talk to a real person who can explain it in plain English.

One last tip: if you're planning to file for unemployment, try to do it early in the week. The calculation doesn't change based on when you file, but it's easier to get help with questions if you file Monday-Wednesday.

Thanks for all the helpful information everyone! I feel like I understand my benefit calculation much better now.

This thread has been super helpful. Bookmarking it in case I need to reference the calculation formula later.

Update us when you hear back! I'm sure other contractors in similar situations would love to know how it works out for you.

Will do! I'll post an update once I get the determination. Hopefully it's good news that can help others in similar situations.

One more thing - if you had any 1099s from clients, make sure you have copies of those when you apply. Washington ESD might want to see them as part of their evaluation process.

0 coins

Got all my 1099s organized already. Thanks for thinking of that - definitely important documentation to have ready.

One more thing - if you're collecting unemployment and then go back to work but get laid off again within a certain period, you might be able to reopen your existing claim rather than file a new one. This can help you avoid some of the qualification issues.

0 coins

How long do you have to work before you can reopen a claim? I worked for like 2 months then got laid off again.

0 coins

I think it depends on your specific situation and how much you earned. You'd need to check with Washington ESD to see if reopening is better than filing a new claim.

The whole system is a mess. I've been trying to get answers about my disqualification for weeks and can't get through to anyone at Washington ESD. It's ridiculous how hard it is to talk to a human being when you need help.

0 coins

I've tried everything - early morning, late at night, different numbers. Nothing works. The system just hangs up on you after being on hold forever.

This is exactly why I ended up using Claimyr. Saved me from going insane trying to get through to Washington ESD.

Don't forget that even with part-time work you might still qualify for things like the job training programs through WorkSource if you want to learn new skills

0 coins

Oh that's interesting, I hadn't thought about training programs. Does that affect your job search requirements?

0 coins

Some approved training programs can actually substitute for your job search activities. Worth looking into if there's something you want to learn

Thanks everyone for all the info! This thread has been super helpful. I feel much more confident about balancing part-time work with my unemployment claim now.

Glad we could help! Just remember to keep detailed records of everything and you'll be fine

Yes, thank you all! This community is so much more helpful than trying to navigate the Washington ESD website alone

I'm seeing a lot of good advice here but also some confusion. The bottom line is that each situation is unique and you really need to talk to Washington ESD directly about your specific circumstances.

0 coins

I think you're right. I need to stop trying to figure this out on my own and get official guidance.

0 coins

That's where Claimyr could help you get through to someone at Washington ESD who can give you specific guidance about your situation.

Thanks everyone for all the helpful information. I think I have a better understanding now that I need to be very careful about the timing and requirements of both programs. I'll contact Washington ESD directly before making any decisions about applying for disability.

Feel free to reach out if you need help understanding any of the information they give you. These rules can be complex.

I really appreciate everyone's input. This has been incredibly helpful in understanding what I need to do next.
