If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

One more tip - if you're switching to direct deposit, make sure your bank account is in good standing. Some banks will reject the deposits if you have any holds or issues with your account.

Good point. I'll double-check with my bank before I submit the request.

0 coins

Yes, and make sure the account has been open for at least 30 days. Some banks have restrictions on new accounts receiving government direct deposits.

Thanks everyone for all the help! I'm going to try calling Washington ESD through Claimyr first, and if that doesn't work I'll mail the form. Really appreciate all the advice and tips.

You're welcome! Hope it works out as smoothly for you as it did for me.

0 coins

Good luck! Either way should work, but the phone method is definitely faster if you can get through.

Just remember the $999 maximum is gross, not net. After federal taxes (if you elect them) you're looking at more like $850 take home.

0 coins

Still a decent amount for temporary income replacement while job searching.

The benefit calculation seems complicated but Washington ESD generally does a good job of maximizing what you're eligible for based on your work history.

0 coins

Agreed - their system automatically calculates the highest possible benefit amount you qualify for using different base year combinations.

0 coins

That's reassuring to know they're not trying to shortchange people.

0 coins

If you do decide to quit and apply for benefits, be prepared for the adjudication process if they question your reason for leaving. I had to wait 6 weeks for them to make a decision on my claim, and that was with a pretty clear-cut case of workplace harassment.

0 coins

Yes, but it was stressful not knowing. During adjudication they contacted my former employer and interviewed me about the situation.

0 coins

This is another situation where being able to actually talk to someone at Washington ESD helps. I used Claimyr to check on my adjudication status when I was waiting for a decision.

0 coins

Bottom line: your previous 2 years of work should definitely count toward qualifying, but quitting without rock-solid documentation of good cause is risky. Maybe try to transfer to a different department or document issues before making any decisions?

0 coins

Transfer isn't really an option at this small company, but you're right about documenting everything. I'll start keeping records of incidents starting today.

0 coins

Smart approach. Having contemporaneous documentation is much stronger than trying to remember events later during an appeal.

0 coins

Make sure you have your bank account info ready for direct deposit. Much faster than waiting for checks in the mail.

0 coins

Good tip. I definitely want to get payments as fast as possible.

0 coins

Yeah direct deposit usually comes 1-2 days after you file your weekly claim. Checks take way longer.

0 coins

One last thing - if you get denied for any reason, don't panic. You can appeal the decision. The appeals process gives you a chance to explain your situation to a judge.

0 coins

Hopefully I won't need to worry about that but good to know. Thanks everyone for all the help!

oh and one more thing - if you've worked in other states recently, you might need to file an interstate claim. washington esd can combine wages from other states if needed. this gets complicated so you might need to call them about it

0 coins

I've only worked in Washington so that shouldn't be an issue for me.

0 coins

Good! Interstate claims can take much longer to process because they have to coordinate with other states.

0 coins

Based on what you've described - laid off from full-time work after 18 months at $22/hour - you should definitely qualify for unemployment benefits. The key is to file as soon as possible and make sure you file your weekly claims every week even if your initial claim is still being processed. Good luck!
