Need help resetting EBT security questions to lock card - forgot answers!
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble logging into my EBT account. I forgot the answers to my security questions and now I can't access my account to lock my card. Has anyone else dealt with this? How can I reset the security questions? I'm worried about potential fraud on my account.

Ugh, been there done that. It's such a pain when you forget those security answers! Have you tried calling the EBT customer service line? They should be able to help you reset those questions.

•Yeah, I've been trying to call but the wait times are insane. I've been on hold for hours and still can't get through to anyone. It's so frustrating!

•Pro tip: call right when they open in the morning. You might have better luck getting through to someone then. Good luck!

I had the same issue last month. Here's what worked for me: 1. Gather all your identification documents (ID, SSN card, etc.) 2. Call the EBT customer service number 3. Ask specifically to verify your identity and reset security questions 4. Be patient, it might take a while but they can do it over the phone Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

•Thank you so much for the detailed steps! I'll definitely try this. Did they ask you any specific questions to verify your identity?

•Yep, they asked for my full name, DOB, last 4 of SSN, and current address. They might also ask about recent transactions on your EBT card, so maybe have that info handy too.

•This is great advice! I wish I knew this when I had the same problem last year. Took me forever to figure it out on my own 😩

Have you tried resetting your password through the website? Sometimes that can trigger a reset of security questions too.

•I tried that, but it keeps asking for the answers to my security questions to reset the password. It's like a catch-22 😫

•Oof, that's rough. Sounds like calling is probably your best bet then. Hang in there!

Hey, I found a way to get someone on the phone without waiting for hours. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's the link: https://www.claimyr.com

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

•I was skeptical at first too, but it really worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

•$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 😡

•I get it, but think about how much your time is worth. For me, not sitting on hold for 3+ hours was totally worth it.

This is why I always write down my security answers somewhere safe. Learned that lesson the hard way lol

Have you tried going to your local EBT office in person? Sometimes face-to-face is the best way to get these things sorted out.

•I haven't tried that yet. Do you know if I need to make an appointment first?

•It depends on your local office. Some take walk-ins, others need appointments. Maybe give them a call to check before you go.

I went through this exact same situation a few months ago! It's so stressful when you can't access your account. Here's what finally worked for me: I called the EBT customer service line first thing in the morning (around 8 AM) and got through in about 20 minutes. They were able to verify my identity using my SSN, address, and recent transaction history, then reset my security questions right over the phone. The whole process took maybe 15 minutes once I got connected. Make sure you have all your documents ready - ID, SSN card, and if possible, your last EBT transaction receipt. Don't give up, they can definitely help you get back into your account!

•This is super helpful! I'm going to try calling at 8 AM tomorrow morning. Do you remember if they asked for any specific details about your recent transactions, like amounts or dates? I want to make sure I have everything ready before I call.

•@b10ddae3f4e8 Thank you so much for sharing your experience! This gives me hope that I can get this resolved. I'm definitely going to try the early morning call strategy. It's reassuring to know that they can actually reset the security questions over the phone - I was worried I'd have to go through some complicated process. I'll make sure to have all my documents ready. Really appreciate you taking the time to help!

I actually work at a local DSS office and deal with these issues daily. A few tips that might help: 1) Call right at 8 AM when they open - wait times are definitely shorter then. 2) Have your EBT card number, SSN, DOB, and current address ready. 3) If you remember ANY purchases from the last 30 days (even approximate amounts/dates), have that info handy too. 4) Be patient with the rep - they want to help but have to follow security protocols. The good news is they can absolutely reset your security questions once they verify your identity. Don't stress too much about the exact wording of your old answers - the system is designed to help people in situations like yours!

•Wow, this is incredibly helpful to get advice from someone who actually works at DSS! Thank you for the insider tips. It's really reassuring to know that the system is designed to help people in situations like this. I was starting to panic thinking I might be locked out permanently. The tip about having approximate purchase info is great - I definitely remember buying groceries at Kroger last week for around $50. I'm feeling much more confident about calling tomorrow morning now. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your expertise!

I had this exact same problem a few weeks ago! What a nightmare, right? I ended up having to call the customer service line multiple times before I finally got through. Here's what I learned: definitely call right when they open at 8 AM like others have mentioned, but also have your EBT card physically in front of you when you call. They asked me for the card number, expiration date, and the 3-digit code on the back along with all my personal info. They were able to reset my security questions after verifying everything, and it only took about 10 minutes once I got connected. The rep also told me to write down my new security question answers somewhere safe this time - lesson learned! Hang in there, you'll get it sorted out soon! 💪

•This is exactly what I needed to hear! Thank you for sharing your experience and the specific details about what they'll ask for. I definitely have my EBT card handy and will make sure to have all those numbers ready. It's such a relief to know that multiple people have successfully gotten through this process. I'm feeling much more prepared now - going to set my alarm for 7:45 AM tomorrow and call right when they open. Really appreciate everyone's help and advice on this thread! 🙏
