Need help unlocking EBT PIN - Impossible to reach customer service!
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my EBT card. I need to unlock my PIN but I'm not sure how to do it. Has anyone gone through this process before? I've been trying to call but the wait times are insane. Any advice would be really appreciated!

Ugh, I feel your pain. I had to deal with this last month and it was a nightmare. Have you tried going to the EBT website? Sometimes they have an option to reset your PIN online.

•Thanks for the suggestion! I tried the website but it keeps giving me an error message. 😫 Guess I'll have to keep trying to get through on the phone.

•Pro tip: call right when they open in the morning. The wait times are usually shorter then. Good luck!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone without waiting forever. I used this site called claimyr.com. It's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then sends the call to your phone when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it saved me hours of frustration. Here's the link: https://claimyr.com

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

•I was skeptical at first too, but it really worked for me. Saved me a whole day of being on hold. Worth every penny imo.

•$20 just to talk to someone? The system is so broken 🤦♂️

•I get it, it sucks to pay. But for me, time is money. I couldn't afford to sit on hold all day.

Have you tried going to your local EBT office in person? Sometimes its easier to get things sorted face-to-face.

•Preach! 🙌 The government needs to get its act together. We shouldn't have to jump through hoops for basic services.

Here's a step-by-step guide that might help: 1. First, try the automated system at 1-877-328-9677. Sometimes you can reset your PIN this way. 2. If that doesn't work, call the EBT Customer Service number at 1-888-356-3281. 3. When you get through, you'll need to verify your identity. Have your card number and personal info ready. 4. Ask the rep to unlock your PIN. They might ask you some security questions. 5. Once unlocked, you can choose a new PIN. 6. If all else fails, visit your local DHHS office with ID and your EBT card. Hope this helps! Let us know how it goes.

Has anyone else noticed that the EBT system always seems to have issues at the end of the month? It's like they're trying to make it harder for us on purpose. 🤔

I went through this exact same thing last year! What worked for me was calling the customer service line first thing in the morning (around 8 AM) and selecting the option for "lost or stolen card" instead of PIN unlock - sometimes that gets you through faster to a human. Once you get someone on the line, they can help with the PIN unlock too. Also, make sure you have your SSN, date of birth, and the last 4 digits of your EBT card ready. The whole process took about 15 minutes once I actually got through to someone. Hang in there - I know how stressful this can be when you need access to your benefits!

•This is such great advice! I never would have thought to try the "lost or stolen card" option to get through faster. That's a really clever workaround. Thanks for sharing what actually worked for you - it gives me hope that I'll be able to get this sorted out soon. I'm definitely going to try calling first thing tomorrow morning with all my info ready to go!

I actually had success getting through by calling during lunch hours (around 12-1 PM) when most people aren't calling. Also, if you have a smartphone, try downloading the ebtEDGE mobile app - sometimes you can manage your PIN through there without having to call at all. I know it's frustrating when you need your benefits and can't access them. Another tip: if you're still stuck, try reaching out to your local food stamp office directly - they might be able to help reset your PIN or at least give you a direct number that has shorter wait times.

•Great tips about trying lunch hours and the ebtEDGE app! I had no idea there was a mobile app that might let you reset your PIN. That could save so much hassle. I'm also going to try calling my local food stamp office directly - sometimes the local offices are way more helpful than the main customer service line. Thanks for sharing these alternative options!
