USCIS F2A to CR1 transfer delay after citizenship - no notification for months. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I became a US citizen back in February, but I still haven't gotten any notification about changing my visa category from F2A to CR1. My case should have been approved ages ago, but I'm still waiting. Has anyone else experienced this kind of delay? It's been months and I'm starting to get worried. Any advice on what I should do next?

I found a way to solve F2A to CR1 visa transfer delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ej4rsofitaQ

Congrats on becoming a citizen! 🎉 But man, that wait time sucks. Have you tried calling USCIS directly? Sometimes you gotta be persistent to get answers.

•Thanks! Yeah, I've tried calling but its impossible to get through. I've been on hold for hours and then get disconnected. It's so frustrating 😤

•Pro tip: call first thing in the morning when they open. You might have better luck getting through!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/eSz742AOvHc

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

•Totally legit! I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

•How long did you have to wait before they connected you?

•It took about 2 hours, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music. They just called me when an agent was ready.

Ugh, USCIS and their delays 🙄 I swear they operate on a different timeline than the rest of us. Have you considered reaching out to your local congressperson's office? They can sometimes help expedite things.

I'm in the same boat, OP. Been waiting for my category change for 5 months now. The system is so broken, it's not even funny anymore. Hang in there!

•5 months?! That's insane. I hope we both get some answers soon. This limbo is killing me.

Here's what you need to know about F2A to CR1 transfers after naturalization: 1. The transfer isn't automatic. You need to file Form I-485 Supplement A. 2. Processing times vary wildly depending on your service center. 3. Make sure all your documents are up to date. 4. Consider filing an e-request if it's been more than the posted processing time. 5. Keep an eye on your case status online. Remember, patience is key here. The system is backlogged, but they will get to your case. If you're really concerned, an immigration lawyer might be able to help speed things up.

Plot twist: what if USCIS is actually run by sloths? 🦥 That would explain the speed of their processes!

I went through a similar situation last year! The F2A to CR1 transfer took forever for me too. What helped was submitting a case inquiry online through the USCIS website after my case went beyond normal processing times. Also, make sure you have your naturalization certificate number handy when you call - that seemed to help the agents locate my case faster. Don't lose hope, it will eventually get processed! The automatic upgrade should happen once they review your file, but sometimes you need to give them a little nudge.

•Thank you so much for sharing your experience! It's really reassuring to hear from someone who's been through this exact situation. I'll definitely try submitting a case inquiry online - I didn't realize that was an option. And good tip about having the naturalization certificate number ready when calling. How long did it take after you submitted the inquiry before you heard back from them?

I'm dealing with a similar situation right now! Became a citizen in March and still waiting for the F2A to CR1 transfer. One thing that helped me was creating a USCIS online account if you haven't already - sometimes you can see status updates there before they send notifications. Also, I read somewhere that the transfer should be automatic once they process your naturalization, but the system is so backlogged right now. Have you tried checking if your priority date became current in the visa bulletin? That might give you an idea of where things stand. Hang in there - I know it's frustrating but we'll get through this! 💪

•This is really helpful advice! I'm new to this whole process and didn't know about creating the USCIS online account - definitely going to set that up today. The visa bulletin tip is smart too, I hadn't thought to check that. It's both frustrating and comforting to know so many of us are in the same boat right now. Thanks for the encouragement! 🙏
