TWC payment request successful by phone, but when will deposit arrive?

I filed my TWC payment request via phone (Tele-Serv) on December 30th for the first time, and the system confirmed it was submitted successfully. The automated voice said something about it being processed, but I'm not sure when to expect the actual deposit in my account. This waiting is making me anxious since rent is coming up. Does anyone know the typical timeline for deposits after a payment request is approved? Is it different for first-time payment requests versus subsequent ones? Thanks in advance for any guidance!

Generally, you should see your deposit within 2-3 business days after your payment request is processed. Since you requested on Dec 30th, keep in mind that New Year's Day is a holiday, so banks don't process anything then. You'll likely see the deposit by January 3rd or 4th. First payments sometimes take a day longer than subsequent ones, so don't panic if it's not immediate. You can check your payment status on the TWC website under "Claim and Payment Status" to see when it was processed and the expected deposit date.

Thank you so much! I didn't even think about the holiday delaying things. I'll check the website right now to see if there's a status update. Fingers crossed it comes through by the 4th because my rent is due on the 5th...

In my experience, TWC is NEVER consistent with deposits! Sometimes I get mine within 2 days, other times it takes nearly a WEEK! And their stupid website will say "deposited" but my bank won't show it for another 24-48 hours. The system is completely broken. I've been on unemployment three times in Texas and it's always a guessing game when money will actually hit my account.

First time payment requests usually take a bit longer to process - typically 3-5 business days after your request date. Since you requested on December 30th, and considering the New Year holiday, I would expect to see it by January 5th at the latest. Each subsequent payment should be faster as long as there are no issues with your work search activities. One tip: If you're worried about the timing, you can often get more precise information by speaking directly with a TWC agent about your specific claim. When I was struggling to get through to them, I used a service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that got me connected to a live agent within 30 minutes instead of spending days trying to get through. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh. Much better than stressing about when your payment will arrive!

Thanks for the detailed explanation! The New Year holiday definitely complicates things. I'm going to check out that Claimyr service if I don't see the deposit by the 4th. Did you find the TWC agents were able to give you an exact date once you got through to them?

dont worry too much, my payments always come through. sometimes takes a few days tho. you should set up direct deposit if you didnt already cuz the debit card option takes extra time. also make sure u keep doing ur work searches every week (3 per week) or theyll stop ur payments

I did set up direct deposit thankfully! And I'm keeping detailed records of all my work search activities. It's just nerve-wracking waiting for that first payment to confirm everything is working properly.

Has anyone had issues with their payment status showing "pending" for more than a week? I'm in a similar boat - requested payment last week and still nothing. Just wondering if the holidays are causing general delays in the system right now?

If your payment is showing "pending" for more than a week, that usually indicates there's an issue that needs resolution. I'd recommend calling TWC directly to find out what's happening. Could be anything from a work search verification to an employer dispute or identity verification need.

When i filed my first claim back in October, it took exactly 4 business days for the deposit. The TWC website updated to show "payment processed" after 2 days, and then it took 2 more for my bank to actually show the money. After that first one though, it's been pretty consistent - request on Sunday, see the money by Wednesday morning. Hope that helps!

That's really helpful to know! I'll keep checking both the TWC website and my bank account. Sounds like I should expect it to be a bit slower this first time around.

Just a heads-up - make sure you log into your TWC account and verify there are no pending issues with your claim. Sometimes they need additional information before releasing the first payment, and they don't always notify you clearly. The payment status section will show if there's anything holding up your deposit.

I just checked and thankfully there are no pending issues showing! It just says "payment request processed" with yesterday's date. I guess that means it's working its way through the system now.

That's a great sign that it shows "payment request processed"! From my experience, once you see that status, you're usually just waiting on the banking side of things. Since you filed on Dec 30th and it's now processed, I'd expect to see it in your account by January 3rd or 4th at the latest. The holiday definitely slowed things down this week. Try not to stress too much - TWC is generally reliable with getting payments out once they're processed, it's just the timing that can vary. Keep an eye on your account over the next couple days!

Thank you so much for the reassurance! You're right - seeing "payment request processed" does feel like a good sign. I'll try to be patient and check again tomorrow. It's just that first-time anxiety of not knowing if everything is set up correctly. Really appreciate everyone's help in this thread!

I'm in a similar situation - just filed my first payment request last week and the waiting is killing me! Reading through everyone's responses here is really helpful. It sounds like 3-5 business days is pretty normal for first-time payments, especially with holidays thrown in. I've been checking my account obsessively but I think I need to just relax and trust the process. Thanks to everyone for sharing their experiences - it's so reassuring to know this anxiety is normal and that TWC generally comes through, even if the timing varies!

I totally understand that obsessive account-checking feeling! I did the same thing when I was waiting for my first payment. The uncertainty is the worst part, but it sounds like you're in good company here. From what I'm reading in this thread, it seems like most people do get their payments within that 3-5 day window for first-timers. The holiday timing definitely makes it more stressful this week, but at least we're all going through it together. Hang in there!

I'm new to this community and currently going through my first TWC claim process myself. Reading through everyone's experiences here has been incredibly helpful! I just wanted to add that I've found it useful to screenshot the "payment request processed" status page when it appears - it gives me peace of mind to have that confirmation saved. Also, for anyone else dealing with first-payment anxiety, I've been keeping a simple log of when I requested, when it showed as processed, and when I expect to see the deposit. It helps me feel more in control of the situation. The waiting really is the hardest part, but this community makes it feel less isolating. Thanks to everyone for sharing their timelines and experiences!

Welcome to the community! That's such a smart idea about screenshotting the status page - I wish I had thought of that. Having that visual confirmation would definitely help with the anxiety. I love the idea of keeping a log too, it makes the whole process feel more manageable when you can track the timeline. You're absolutely right that this community makes the waiting feel less scary - everyone here has been so helpful and reassuring. It's nice to know we're all supporting each other through these stressful first-time experiences!

I'm going through the exact same thing right now! Filed my first payment request on December 29th and have been anxiously checking my account every few hours. Reading through all these responses has been such a relief - it's good to know the 3-5 day timeline for first payments is normal, and that the holiday is causing delays for everyone. I didn't realize that the website showing "payment request processed" was such a positive sign. Mine updated to that status yesterday, so hopefully that means I'm in the same boat as you and should see the deposit by the 4th. The rent stress is so real - mine's due on the 6th so I'm cutting it close too! Thanks for asking this question, it's exactly what I needed to read today.

I'm so glad this thread is helping you too! It's crazy how many of us are going through the exact same first-payment anxiety right now. The timing with the holidays really couldn't be worse when you're already stressed about rent. But seeing everyone's experiences here - especially that "payment request processed" is a good sign - has definitely calmed my nerves. Fingers crossed we both see our deposits by the 4th! It's such a relief to know this waiting period is totally normal and that we're not alone in obsessively checking our accounts every few hours. Here's hoping both our rent situations work out smoothly!

I went through this exact same situation a few months ago and completely understand the anxiety! For first-time payment requests, TWC typically takes 3-4 business days after processing to deposit funds. Since you filed on Dec 30th and it's showing as processed, the New Year holiday definitely added an extra day to the timeline. I'd expect to see your deposit by January 4th at the latest. One thing that helped me was setting up text alerts with my bank so I'd get notified immediately when the deposit hit rather than constantly checking my account. Also, just a tip for future payments - if you request on Sunday mornings, you usually see the money by Wednesday. The first payment is always the most nerve-wracking, but TWC is generally reliable once everything is set up correctly. Hang in there!

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and that timeline! Setting up text alerts is such a smart idea - I'm definitely going to do that right now. The constant account checking is exhausting and stressing me out even more. It's really reassuring to hear from someone who went through the exact same first-payment anxiety and came out fine on the other side. The tip about Sunday morning requests is super helpful too - I'll remember that for next time. You're right that this first one is the most nerve-wracking because you just don't know if everything is working properly yet. Thanks for the encouragement!

I just went through this same process last month and can totally relate to the anxiety! Filed my first payment request on a Friday and didn't see the deposit until the following Thursday - exactly 4 business days later. The key thing I learned is that TWC processes payments in batches, usually overnight, and then it takes 1-2 additional days for your bank to actually show the funds. Since you filed on Dec 30th and it's showing as processed, you're definitely on track. The holiday just threw an extra wrench in the timing. I'd say you'll almost certainly see it by January 4th. One thing that really helped my peace of mind was calling my bank to confirm they don't hold ACH deposits from government agencies - some banks do, which can add another day. But since you set up direct deposit, you should be good to go. The waiting is brutal, but you're so close!

That's such a helpful breakdown of the process - I didn't realize TWC processes payments in batches overnight! That explains why the timing can seem so unpredictable. I'm definitely going to call my bank today to check about ACH holds from government agencies - that's something I never would have thought to ask about. It's so reassuring to hear from someone who just went through this exact timeline last month. The 4 business day timeframe seems to be pretty consistent from what everyone is sharing here. Thanks for mentioning that detail about banks potentially holding government deposits - that could save me a lot of unnecessary worry if there's an extra delay I wasn't expecting!

I'm new to this community and just wanted to share my recent experience since it might help! I filed my first TWC payment request on December 28th and was in the same anxious boat as everyone here. The deposit actually showed up in my account this morning (January 2nd) - so it took 3 business days excluding the holiday. What really helped me was logging into the TWC website every morning instead of obsessively checking my bank account multiple times a day. Once I saw "payment request processed" on their site, I knew it was just a matter of waiting for the banking system to catch up. For anyone still waiting, I'd say if your status shows as processed and there are no pending issues on your claim, you're definitely in good shape. The first payment anxiety is so real, but it sounds like most of us are getting our deposits within that 3-5 day window even with the holiday delays!

0 coins

That's amazing news that you got your deposit this morning! Congratulations and thanks for sharing the timeline - 3 business days is actually faster than I was expecting based on what everyone else has been saying. You're absolutely right about checking the TWC website instead of obsessing over the bank account - that's such a healthier approach and I'm going to switch to doing that. It's so encouraging to hear from someone who literally just went through this exact process and came out successfully on the other side. Your experience gives me a lot of hope that mine will show up soon too since my status also shows as processed with no pending issues. This community has been such a lifesaver for managing the first-payment anxiety!
