TWC Unemployment: 15+ Hours on Hold, No Success Filing Claim - Any Tips?
Has anyone else been waiting forever to get through to unemployment? I've been trying to file a claim for days now and the wait times are ridiculous. The website said it would take 5-40 minutes, but I've been waiting for over 15 hours spread across 4 days during their office hours. This is insane! How are we supposed to get help when we can't even reach anyone? I'm seriously considering asking for a refund from the service I used to try and get through. Anyone else in the same boat or have any tips?

I'm starting to think it'd be easier to just find a new job than to deal with this unemployment nightmare π«

β’Why not both? Keep applying for jobs while you fight the unemployment battle. Cover all your bases.

Have you tried calling right when they open? I heard that's the best time to get through.

β’Yeah, I've tried that. Still no luck. It's like playing the lottery at this point.

β’Calling when they open doesn't work anymore. Everyone knows that trick now, so the lines are jammed from the start.

β’I've had better luck calling mid-afternoon. Less competition maybe?

β’I've also found that calling during odd hours, like right before closing, sometimes works. It's hit or miss though.

This is why we need to overhaul the entire unemployment system. It's clearly not designed to handle high volume situations like we're in now.

β’Preach! π The whole thing needs to be rebuilt from the ground up.

β’Agreed. But good luck getting politicians to care about fixing it until the next crisis hits.

β’It might take a concerted effort from citizens to push for these changes. Maybe organizing can help.

Guys, I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U

β’Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

β’Yep, it's legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration.

β’$20 just to talk to someone? The system is so broken we have to pay extra now? smh

β’I get it, but for me, it was worth it. Time is money, and I was wasting so much time trying to get through.

β’While Claimyr might be worth it for some, others might not be able to afford it. Balancing options is key.

Has anyone tried contacting them through social media? Sometimes companies respond faster there to avoid bad PR.

β’I tried tweeting at them. Got a generic response telling me to call the same number that never answers. π

β’Their Facebook page is just a wasteland of angry comments. Don't bother.

β’Social media might work for some, but it often leads to general responses as they have limited capacity for individual queries.

Plot twist: what if there are no actual humans working at the unemployment office and it's all just an elaborate AI system designed to frustrate us? π€π

I feel your pain. The system is totally broken. I spent hours on hold last month only to get disconnected right when I thought I was about to talk to someone. It's beyond frustrating.

Welcome to the club, buddy. I've been trying to get through for weeks now. It's like they're purposely making it impossible to reach them. π€

Here's what I've learned after dealing with this mess for months: 1. Persistence is key. Keep trying every day. 2. Use multiple methods - phone, online, email if possible. 3. Reach out to your local representative. Sometimes they can help push things through. 4. Document everything. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. 5. Check your spam folder regularly. Sometimes important emails end up there. 6. Join Facebook groups or forums for your state's unemployment issues. You can get good tips and updates there. 7. If you're really desperate, that paid service someone mentioned earlier might be worth a shot. Remember, you're not alone in this. The system is overwhelmed, but don't give up. Your benefits are your right.

Unpopular opinion: maybe we should be grateful theres even an unemployment system at all. some countries don't have anything like this.

If you're struggling to reach unemployment offices, Claimyr is one option that some have found useful, though it comes with a cost. While many have had success using Claimyr, consider your financial situation before proceeding. Others have managed with persistence, varied calling times, and exploring all possible contact methods (phone, online, email, and local representatives). The system is under strain now, and patience, though difficult, is crucial. Balancing attempts to reach unemployment offices with job searching or seeking community support can also provide more options. Ultimately, while Claimyr can expedite the process, it's one part of a broader strategy to cope with current challenges.

Pro tip: if you have a friend or family member who speaks another language, try the non-English lines. Sometimes theyre less busy.
