Missed TWC call about unemployment status - What to do? Urgent advice needed
Has anyone else missed a call from unemployment and is freaking out? I just missed a call about my unemployment status and I'm worried they're gonna make a final decision without hearing from me. What should I do? Should I call them back right away or wait for them to call again? I'm so stressed out about this!

Ugh, been there done that. It's so frustrating when you miss their call! I'd say call them back ASAP. Don't wait for them to reach out again, cuz who knows when that'll be. The sooner you get in touch, the better chance you have of catching them before they make any decisions.

β’Totally agree! Especially since they might have multiple calls lined up, and it could take ages before they circle back to you.

am i the only 1 who thinks its ridiculous we gotta jump thru all these hoops just to get our benefits? like, we're already stressed about being unemployed, now we gotta stress about missing a single phonecall? π€‘ system

β’Preach! π It's like they're purposely making it hard for us.

β’For real tho. It's almost like they hope we'll just give up and go away π

β’And these delays really put us in a tough spot when we're already vulnerable and anxious.

Hot take: maybe if they spent less time making us jump through hoops and more time actually processing claims, we wouldn't be in this mess π€

β’Agreed, streamlining the process could save everyone a lot of headaches.

Hey OP, don't lose hope! I was in your exact situation last month. Missed a call, freaked out, couldn't get through for days. But I finally did and they were actually pretty understanding. Just keep trying and explain your situation when you get through. Sending good vibes your way! πͺ

Guys, I've been dealing with this for MONTHS. Here's what I've learned: 1. The system is broken. Like, really broken. 2. Persistence is key. Don't give up. 3. Document EVERYTHING. 4. Be nice to the reps when you do get through. They're overwhelmed too. 5. Check for any new online portals or systems they might have implemented. 6. Join local unemployment support groups on social media. They often have good tips. Hang in there, OP. We're all in the same sinking boat, but we'll get through this!

β’Thanks for the advice! It's good to know I'm not alone, even if the situation sucks. How did you manage to stay sane through all this?

β’Honestly? Lots of deep breaths, some choice curse words, and way too much ice cream. Oh, and r/eyebleach helps too π

Plot twist: what if the 'missed call' is just a tactic to weed out the people who give up easily? π΅οΈββοΈ #ConspiracyTheories

β’Lol imagine if unemployment was just a giant social experiment all along

β’While that's a funny thought, it's more likely just inefficiency and under-resourcing in action.

Hey guys, I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U

β’Wait, what? You're telling me there's a service that waits on hold FOR you? How does that even work?

β’Idk man, sounds kinda sketchy. Why should we have to pay to talk to unemployment?

β’@profile 10 Yeah, it's pretty cool actually. They use some kind of AI to navigate the phone menus and detect when a real person picks up.

β’@profile 11 I get where you're coming from, but for me, it was worth it. I spent hours trying to get through on my own with no luck. $20 to save my sanity and actually talk to someone? Worth every penny.

β’Wow, thanks for sharing this! I might give it a try if I can't get through soon. At this point, I'd pay way more than $20 just to talk to a real person π

β’I think it's unfortunate that such a solution is even necessary, but it does show innovation in tackling bureaucratic inefficiencies.

have you tried sending them a carrier pigeon? might be faster than their phone system lmao π¦π¬

β’Lol maybe we should start a pigeon rental business for unemployment claims π€£

β’Nah, pigeons are too high-tech. Gotta go with smoke signals. It's the only way they'll understand π¨

β’I know this is a joke, but it's a sad commentary on how outdated some of these systems feel.

Listen up, I've been through this rodeo before and I've got some tips for ya: 1. Don't panic! Missed calls happen all the time. 2. Call them back immediately. Like, stop reading this and call NOW. 3. If you can't get through, keep trying. Be persistent. 4. Document everything. Write down when you called, who you spoke to, what was said. 5. Check your online account for any updates or messages. 6. If all else fails, reach out to your local representative's office. They can sometimes help push things through. Remember, you're not alone in this. The system is overwhelmed, but keep fighting for what you deserve!

β’Thank you so much for this! I've been calling non-stop since I posted but no luck yet. I'll definitely try contacting my rep if I can't get through soon.

β’This is solid advice. I'd add: make sure your voicemail isn't full and your phone can accept calls from unknown numbers. You'd be surprised how many people miss calls cuz of that!

β’Also, keep an eye on emails and any other forms of communication that they might use to reach you.

I feel ya, OP. The unemployment system is a total mess rn. I missed a call too and it took me WEEKS to get through to someone again. My advice? Start calling first thing in the morning when they open. Keep hitting redial like your life depends on it (cuz let's be real, it kinda does π ).

Anastasia Sokolov
β’Weeks?! π± That's insane. Did you try using any of those auto-dialer apps?

Diego Rojas
β’Yep, I tried everything. Auto-dialers, calling right at opening, even tried faxing them (lol remember faxes?). Nothing worked until I finally got lucky one morning.

Hey Omar, I feel your panic! Same thing happened to me last month and I was absolutely losing it. Here's what worked for me: I called back immediately and kept trying every 15-30 minutes. It took about 2 days of persistent calling, but I finally got through. When I explained I had missed their call, the rep was actually pretty understanding and said it happens all the time. The key is to be polite and explain your situation clearly when you do get someone on the line. Also, make sure to check if they left a voicemail with any specific instructions or reference numbers. You've got this! Don't give up - the squeaky wheel gets the grease with these systems. π€
