After winning TWC appeal, how soon will payment arrive?
Just found out today that my appeal decision was finally mailed out and I WON!! 🎉 After fighting with TWC for almost 2 months over a separation issue (they initially disqualified me claiming I quit without good cause), the hearing officer ruled in my favor. The TWC website status changed to 'Appeal Complete - Decision Mailed' this morning. Anyone know how quickly I can expect to see the backpay hit my account? I'm talking about 8 weeks of benefits they've been holding (about $4,200 total). My bills are seriously piling up and I need to know if I'm looking at days or weeks before I actually get paid. Thanks!!

•Thanks for the quick response! 4 days would be amazing. Did you have to do anything special after winning or did the money just show up?

In my experience as someone who's gone through multiple TWC appeals (and helped friends with theirs), payment timing after a favorable appeal decision depends on several factors: 1. First, TWC has to process the hearing officer's decision in their system, which typically takes 3-5 business days 2. Once processed, any holds on your claim will be removed and payment will be released for all eligible weeks 3. If you have direct deposit, you'll usually see funds 2-3 business days after release 4. If you have the TWC debit card, it can take 4-7 business days So in total, you're typically looking at 5-10 business days from the "decision mailed" status until money hits your account. Make sure all your payment request certifications are up-to-date for those 8 weeks!

•Thank you for the detailed breakdown! I've been keeping up with my payment requests even though they weren't paying me. I'll keep checking my direct deposit account daily. Hopefully it's closer to 5 days than 10!

I went through this exact situation back in January! When my appeal decision was mailed, I got so excited, but then nothing happened for 2 weeks. Every time I called TWC, I just got busy signals or got disconnected after waiting for hours. It was BEYOND frustrating. I finally discovered Claimyr and it was a game-changer. It got me connected to an actual TWC agent in about 20 minutes! The agent explained that my claim needed manual review after the appeal (something they never tell you). Once I got through, they processed my payment that same day. You can check them out at claimyr.com - they have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh Hope that helps and congrats on winning your appeal!

•Thanks for the tip! If I don't see movement in my account by next Tuesday, I'll definitely check out Claimyr. Getting stuck in endless phone loops with TWC is the worst.

To add to what others have said, you should also check your Correspondence Inbox on the TWC portal. After they mail the decision letter, they typically also upload a digital copy there within 1-2 days. The letter will specify the exact weeks you've been approved for and the payment amounts. One important thing to know: if your separation issue was the only thing holding up your payments, then you should receive your backpay relatively quickly (5-10 business days as someone mentioned). However, if there were any other issues with your claim (like work search compliance, earnings verification, etc.), those might need to be resolved separately even after winning your appeal. If you don't see the payment status change to "processed" within a week, I'd recommend calling TWC to follow up.

•I just checked my correspondence inbox and there's nothing new there yet. I'm pretty sure the separation issue was the only problem since that's all we discussed at the hearing. I'll keep an eye on the inbox though - thanks for mentioning it!

Ugh TBH you just never know with TWC. I won my appeal in February and it took a FULL THREE WEEKS before I saw any money. Then some random person from TWC called me saying they needed to "verify my identity" AGAIN before releasing funds (even though I'd already done ID.me verification). Every single person at TWC gives different information!!!! Then after that it took another week. So for me it was 4 weeks total from winning appeal to actually getting paid. Meanwhile my electricity got shut off and I had to borrow money from family to keep my apartment. The whole system is broken and they don't care at all about people actually struggling.

•Oh wow, that really sucks! I'm sorry you had to go through all that. I hope my situation moves faster, but I'll try to prepare mentally for delays just in case.

Just wanted to share a tip that might help: you can check your claim status on the TWC Tele-Serv automated phone system (800-558-8321) in addition to the website. Sometimes the payment status updates there first before it shows on the web portal. Select option 2, then follow the prompts to check your claim status. The system will tell you if a payment has been processed and the date it was issued. Also, if your payment doesn't show up within 10 business days, you should definitely contact TWC. While many payments process automatically after an appeal, sometimes they need manual intervention from a TWC representative to release the funds.

•Thanks for the Tele-Serv suggestion! I didn't realize the phone system might update faster than the website. I'll start checking both. Really appreciate all the helpful advice from everyone here.

•Mine was a phone hearing. The officer didn't tell me the decision during the call - he just said I'd receive it in the mail. Guess they handle it differently sometimes? 12 days isn't terrible, I can manage that long.

Quick update request: Has your payment status changed yet? It might help others to know your timeline once this gets resolved.

•No changes yet - still shows 'Appeal Complete - Decision Mailed' on the portal. Today is only day 3 since that status appeared though. I'll definitely post an update once something changes!
