After winning TWC appeal, how soon will payment arrive?

Just found out today that my appeal decision was finally mailed out and I WON!! 🎉 After fighting with TWC for almost 2 months over a separation issue (they initially disqualified me claiming I quit without good cause), the hearing officer ruled in my favor. The TWC website status changed to 'Appeal Complete - Decision Mailed' this morning. Anyone know how quickly I can expect to see the backpay hit my account? I'm talking about 8 weeks of benefits they've been holding (about $4,200 total). My bills are seriously piling up and I need to know if I'm looking at days or weeks before I actually get paid. Thanks!!

congrats on winning! it varies but mine took 4 business days to get deposited after winning my appeal last year. might be different now tho

Thanks for the quick response! 4 days would be amazing. Did you have to do anything special after winning or did the money just show up?

In my experience as someone who's gone through multiple TWC appeals (and helped friends with theirs), payment timing after a favorable appeal decision depends on several factors: 1. First, TWC has to process the hearing officer's decision in their system, which typically takes 3-5 business days 2. Once processed, any holds on your claim will be removed and payment will be released for all eligible weeks 3. If you have direct deposit, you'll usually see funds 2-3 business days after release 4. If you have the TWC debit card, it can take 4-7 business days So in total, you're typically looking at 5-10 business days from the "decision mailed" status until money hits your account. Make sure all your payment request certifications are up-to-date for those 8 weeks!

Thank you for the detailed breakdown! I've been keeping up with my payment requests even though they weren't paying me. I'll keep checking my direct deposit account daily. Hopefully it's closer to 5 days than 10!

Have you tried calling them? That seems way too long!

I went through this exact situation back in January! When my appeal decision was mailed, I got so excited, but then nothing happened for 2 weeks. Every time I called TWC, I just got busy signals or got disconnected after waiting for hours. It was BEYOND frustrating. I finally discovered Claimyr and it was a game-changer. It got me connected to an actual TWC agent in about 20 minutes! The agent explained that my claim needed manual review after the appeal (something they never tell you). Once I got through, they processed my payment that same day. You can check them out at claimyr.com - they have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U?si=kNxmh025COIlIzKh Hope that helps and congrats on winning your appeal!

Thanks for the tip! If I don't see movement in my account by next Tuesday, I'll definitely check out Claimyr. Getting stuck in endless phone loops with TWC is the worst.

To add to what others have said, you should also check your Correspondence Inbox on the TWC portal. After they mail the decision letter, they typically also upload a digital copy there within 1-2 days. The letter will specify the exact weeks you've been approved for and the payment amounts. One important thing to know: if your separation issue was the only thing holding up your payments, then you should receive your backpay relatively quickly (5-10 business days as someone mentioned). However, if there were any other issues with your claim (like work search compliance, earnings verification, etc.), those might need to be resolved separately even after winning your appeal. If you don't see the payment status change to "processed" within a week, I'd recommend calling TWC to follow up.

I just checked my correspondence inbox and there's nothing new there yet. I'm pretty sure the separation issue was the only problem since that's all we discussed at the hearing. I'll keep an eye on the inbox though - thanks for mentioning it!

Ugh TBH you just never know with TWC. I won my appeal in February and it took a FULL THREE WEEKS before I saw any money. Then some random person from TWC called me saying they needed to "verify my identity" AGAIN before releasing funds (even though I'd already done ID.me verification). Every single person at TWC gives different information!!!! Then after that it took another week. So for me it was 4 weeks total from winning appeal to actually getting paid. Meanwhile my electricity got shut off and I had to borrow money from family to keep my apartment. The whole system is broken and they don't care at all about people actually struggling.

Oh wow, that really sucks! I'm sorry you had to go through all that. I hope my situation moves faster, but I'll try to prepare mentally for delays just in case.

Just wanted to share a tip that might help: you can check your claim status on the TWC Tele-Serv automated phone system (800-558-8321) in addition to the website. Sometimes the payment status updates there first before it shows on the web portal. Select option 2, then follow the prompts to check your claim status. The system will tell you if a payment has been processed and the date it was issued. Also, if your payment doesn't show up within 10 business days, you should definitely contact TWC. While many payments process automatically after an appeal, sometimes they need manual intervention from a TWC representative to release the funds.

Thanks for the Tele-Serv suggestion! I didn't realize the phone system might update faster than the website. I'll start checking both. Really appreciate all the helpful advice from everyone here.

did you have ur hearing over the phone or in person? when i had mine they told me right there that I won but that it could take 10-14 days to process payment. ended up being about 12 days for me. but ya their system is slow AF

Mine was a phone hearing. The officer didn't tell me the decision during the call - he just said I'd receive it in the mail. Guess they handle it differently sometimes? 12 days isn't terrible, I can manage that long.

Quick update request: Has your payment status changed yet? It might help others to know your timeline once this gets resolved.

No changes yet - still shows 'Appeal Complete - Decision Mailed' on the portal. Today is only day 3 since that status appeared though. I'll definitely post an update once something changes!

Hey Kaylee! First off, congrats on winning your appeal - that's a huge relief after 2 months of fighting! I went through something similar last fall and wanted to share what I learned. After my "Decision Mailed" status appeared, it took exactly 6 business days for the money to hit my account via direct deposit. The key thing is that TWC has to update their system to remove all the holds, then process each week individually. One thing that really helped me was setting up text alerts through the TWC portal if you haven't already - I got notified the moment my payment status changed to "processed." Also, just a heads up that your first payment might be slightly delayed compared to future ones because they have to calculate any federal/state tax withholdings on the lump sum. But $4,200 is going to feel amazing when it finally comes through! Keep us posted on your timeline - it really helps others in similar situations.

Thanks Andre! 6 days sounds reasonable and I really appreciate you sharing your exact timeline. I hadn't thought about the tax withholding potentially slowing things down - good point to keep in mind. I'll definitely set up those text alerts, that's a great tip! Will post an update as soon as I see any movement. This community has been so helpful during this stressful process.

Congrats on winning your appeal! 🎉 I just went through this same situation in February. From the time my status changed to "Appeal Complete - Decision Mailed" to actually receiving the backpay took 8 business days. Here's what happened in my case: Days 1-3: Status stayed the same, no changes Day 4: Got a correspondence message in my TWC inbox with the official decision letter Days 5-6: Payment status changed to "processed" for each individual week Day 8: Money hit my direct deposit account The waiting is brutal when you're behind on bills, but it sounds like you're in the home stretch! One thing that helped me stay sane was checking both the website AND calling the Tele-Serv line (800-558-8321) since sometimes one updates before the other. Also make sure you keep doing your weekly payment requests even though you're waiting - I almost missed doing one and it would have delayed everything. Hope you see that money soon! $4,200 is going to be such a relief when it finally comes through.

Thank you so much for the detailed day-by-day breakdown! That's exactly the kind of timeline I was hoping to see. It's reassuring to know that even if nothing changes for the first few days, things can move quickly once the system gets updated. I've been keeping up with my weekly requests religiously - definitely don't want to mess anything up at this point! Your timeline gives me hope that I might see the money by early next week. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience!

Congrats on winning your appeal! 🎉 That's such a huge victory after fighting for 2 months. I actually just went through this exact same thing in January - won my appeal for a separation issue and was waiting on about 7 weeks of backpay. From my experience, once you see "Appeal Complete - Decision Mailed" it typically takes 5-8 business days for the money to actually hit your account. What happened in my case was: - Days 1-2: No change in status - Day 3: Got the decision letter uploaded to my correspondence inbox - Day 5: Individual week statuses changed from "disqualified" to "processed" - Day 7: Money was in my direct deposit account The $4,200 is going to feel incredible when it finally comes through! Just keep checking both the website and the Tele-Serv phone line daily since sometimes one updates before the other. And definitely keep doing your weekly payment requests even while you're waiting - that's super important. You're so close to the finish line! Keep us updated on when you see movement, it really helps others going through the same thing.

Thanks for sharing your timeline Axel! It's really helpful to see the pattern - seems like most people are seeing 5-8 business days which is consistent with what others have said. I'm on day 3 now so hopefully I'll start seeing some movement in my correspondence inbox soon. The waiting is definitely the hardest part, especially when bills are piling up, but hearing everyone's success stories gives me hope. I'll keep checking both the website and phone system daily and will definitely post an update once things start moving. Really appreciate everyone in this community sharing their experiences!

Congratulations on winning your appeal! 🎉 That must be such a relief after fighting TWC for 2 months. Based on what I've seen in this community, you're looking at roughly 5-10 business days from the "Decision Mailed" status to actually seeing the money in your account. Since you mentioned you've been keeping up with your payment requests (which is crucial!), the process should be pretty straightforward. TWC needs to update their system to remove the disqualification holds, then process each of those 8 weeks individually. With direct deposit, once they release the funds, it typically shows up within 2-3 business days. I'd recommend checking both the TWC website and that Tele-Serv phone line (800-558-8321) daily since sometimes one updates before the other. Also keep an eye on your correspondence inbox for the official decision letter - that usually shows up within the first few days. $4,200 is going to be such a game-changer when it hits! Hang in there, you're in the home stretch now. Would love to hear an update once you see movement - it really helps others going through similar situations.

Thanks Lauren! I really appreciate the encouragement and practical advice. You're right that it's such a relief after those 2 long months of stress. I've been checking the website obsessively but hadn't thought to also check the Tele-Serv line daily - that's a great tip since it sounds like one might update before the other. I'll definitely keep an eye on my correspondence inbox too. The 5-10 day timeline you mentioned aligns with what most others have shared, so I'm feeling cautiously optimistic. Will absolutely post an update once I see any movement - this community has been so supportive and I know others are going through similar situations. Fingers crossed I'll have good news to share soon!

Congratulations on winning your appeal! 🎉 That's fantastic news after such a long fight. I went through something very similar last year - won my appeal after being initially disqualified for "voluntary quit" when I was actually laid off. From my experience, you're looking at about 7-10 business days from seeing "Appeal Complete - Decision Mailed" to actually getting the money. Here's what helped me during the waiting period: 1. Check your TWC correspondence inbox daily - the official decision letter usually appears there before you get the physical mail 2. Keep doing your weekly payment requests religiously (sounds like you're already on top of this!) 3. Use both the website AND the Tele-Serv phone line to check status since they sometimes update at different times 4. Be patient with the first few days - the system needs time to process the decision and remove all the holds The backpay amount ($4,200) will likely come as one lump sum rather than individual weekly payments, which is actually nice when you're catching up on bills. Just be aware that taxes will be withheld from the full amount. You're so close to the finish line now! The hardest part (the actual appeal) is behind you. Keep us posted on your timeline - it really helps others in similar situations know what to expect.

Thanks Carter! Your experience sounds almost identical to mine - also initially disqualified for "voluntary quit" when it was actually a separation issue. It's so frustrating how they make these determinations without proper investigation! Your 7-10 day timeline is consistent with what everyone else has shared, so I'm feeling more confident about the timeframe now. I didn't realize the backpay would come as one lump sum - that's actually perfect for catching up on all these overdue bills! Good point about the tax withholding too, I should factor that in when planning how to allocate the money. Really appreciate you taking the time to share such detailed advice. This community has been incredible during this whole stressful process. I'll definitely post an update once I see any movement!

Hey Kaylee! Huge congratulations on winning your appeal! 🎉 That's such a massive victory after 2 months of fighting TWC. I actually went through this exact same situation back in October - also had a separation issue where they initially said I "quit without good cause" when I was actually terminated. From my experience, you're looking at about 6-8 business days from the "Decision Mailed" status to seeing that beautiful $4,200 in your account. Here's what my timeline looked like: - Days 1-2: No changes, just the "Decision Mailed" status - Day 3: Official decision letter appeared in my correspondence inbox - Day 5: Payment status changed from "disqualified" to "processed" for each week - Day 7: Money hit my direct deposit account A few tips that really helped me: 1. Check both the website AND call the Tele-Serv line (800-558-8321) daily - sometimes one updates before the other 2. Set up text alerts if you haven't already - you'll get notified the moment anything changes 3. Keep doing those weekly payment requests even while waiting (sounds like you're already on top of this!) The waiting is absolutely brutal when bills are piling up, but you're SO close now! The hardest part (winning the appeal) is behind you. That $4,200 is going to feel incredible when it finally hits. Keep us posted on your progress - it really helps others going through the same thing!

Thanks so much Louisa! Your timeline is super helpful and gives me a lot of hope. It's crazy how similar our situations are - the "quit without good cause" determination when it was actually a termination seems to be a common mistake TWC makes. I'm currently on day 3 since seeing the "Decision Mailed" status, so based on your experience I should hopefully see the decision letter in my correspondence inbox soon! I'll definitely set up those text alerts - that's a great suggestion I hadn't thought of. The waiting really is brutal especially with all these bills, but hearing everyone's success stories and timelines is keeping me sane. I'll absolutely keep everyone updated once I start seeing movement. This community has been such a lifesaver during this whole nightmare process! 🙏

Congratulations on winning your appeal! 🎉 That's such amazing news after fighting for 2 months. I went through a very similar situation earlier this year - also had a separation issue where TWC initially ruled I "quit without good cause" when I was actually let go due to restructuring. From my experience, you're looking at about 5-8 business days from the "Decision Mailed" status to actually seeing the money in your account. Here's what my timeline looked like: - Days 1-3: Status remained "Decision Mailed" with no changes - Day 4: Official decision letter showed up in my correspondence inbox - Day 6: Individual week statuses changed from "disqualified" to "processed" - Day 8: Full backpay deposited via direct deposit A couple things that really helped me during the waiting period: 1. Check both the TWC website and the Tele-Serv phone line (800-558-8321) daily since they sometimes update at different times 2. Make sure you keep doing your weekly payment requests even while waiting (sounds like you're already on top of this!) 3. Thanks Oliver! Your timeline is really reassuring and matches what most others have shared - seems like that 5-8 day range is pretty consistent across different cases. I'm currently on day 4 since my "Decision Mailed" status appeared, so based on your experience I should hopefully see the decision letter pop up in my correspondence inbox any day now! It's encouraging to hear from someone who had the exact same "quit without good cause" issue when it was actually a company restructuring situation. TWC really needs to do better initial investigations before making these determinations! I've been checking both the website and Tele-Serv line daily like you suggested, and definitely staying on top of my weekly payment requests. The waiting is tough but knowing I'm so close to the finish line helps. I'll keep everyone posted once I start seeing movement - this community support has been incredible! 🙏

Congratulations on winning your appeal, Kaylee! 🎉 What a huge relief after 2 months of fighting with TWC. I actually went through something very similar last summer - also had a separation issue where they initially claimed I "voluntarily quit" when I was actually terminated due to budget cuts. Based on my experience and what I've seen others go through, you're typically looking at 5-10 business days from when you see "Appeal Complete - Decision Mailed" to actually getting that money in your account. Here's what helped me during the waiting period: 1. Check your correspondence inbox daily - the official decision letter usually shows up there within 2-3 days 2. Monitor both the TWC website AND call the Tele-Serv line (800-558-8321) since sometimes one updates before the other 3. Keep doing your weekly payment requests religiously (sounds like you're already on top of this!) 4. Consider setting up text/email alerts through your bank so you know immediately when that deposit hits In my case, it took 7 business days total from "Decision Mailed" to money in my account. The backpay came as one lump sum which was perfect for catching up on all those overdue bills! Just remember that taxes will be withheld from the full amount. You're in the home stretch now - the hardest part (winning the actual appeal) is behind you! That $4,200 is going to feel amazing when it finally comes through. Thanks AstroAlpha! Your 7-day timeline gives me a lot of hope since I'm currently on day 4. It's really helpful to know that the backpay comes as one lump sum - that'll definitely make it easier to tackle all these overdue bills at once. I hadn't thought about setting up bank alerts for the deposit, that's a brilliant idea so I don't have to obsessively check my account balance! Good point about the tax withholding too, I'll make sure to factor that in when planning how to allocate the money. This whole experience has been such a nightmare but this community has been incredible with all the support and practical advice. I'll definitely post an update once I see any movement - hopefully soon! 🤞

Congratulations on winning your appeal! 🎉 That's such a huge victory after 2 months of stress. I went through something very similar back in September - also had a separation issue where TWC initially ruled against me saying I "abandoned my job" when I was actually laid off due to company downsizing. From my experience, you're looking at about 6-9 business days from the "Decision Mailed" status to seeing that money hit your account. Here's how my timeline played out: - Days 1-2: Status stayed "Decision Mailed" with no changes - Day 4: Decision letter appeared in my correspondence inbox - Day 6: Payment status changed from "disqualified" to "processed" for each week - Day 8: Full backpay deposited into my account via direct deposit A few things that really helped me stay on top of it: 1. Check both the TWC website AND the Tele-Serv automated line (800-558-8321) daily - they don't always update at the same time 2. Set up account alerts with your bank so you get notified the instant that deposit hits 3. Keep doing those weekly payment requests even while waiting (sounds like you're already handling this!) That $4,200 is going to be such a relief when it finally comes through! The hardest part is definitely behind you now. Keep us posted on your timeline - it really helps others who are going through the same situation. You've earned this victory! 💪
