Still waiting for PA UC Money Network card - 2 weeks of benefits stuck!
It's been over 3 weeks and I STILL haven't received my new Money Network card! Anyone else dealing with this? My last two payments (almost $1,200) are supposedly on this card, but I have no way to access MY MONEY. I've checked my address is correct in the system. Called the PA UC number at least 30 times and just get busy signals or disconnected. I even tried the Money Network customer service but they just tell me 'the card is in the mail' and to be patient. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO PAY RENT?? Has anyone actually received their new card recently? How long did it take? I'm seriously stressing out here.

•5 WEEKS?! Are you serious? I can't wait that long! Did you do anything special to speed it up?

I received mine after about 4 weeks. The UC representatives told me that the cards are being sent from a central processing facility in Texas, which is why there's a delay. One thing that helped me was calling the Money Network customer service (1-888-233-5916) early in the morning, around 7:30 AM. I was able to get through to someone who could verify my card was in the system and had been mailed. They can also expedite delivery for a fee, though it's ridiculous we should have to pay for that. In the meantime, did you check if you can switch to direct deposit for your future payments? You'll still need the card for the existing funds, but at least moving forward you could avoid this hassle.

•Thank you! I'll try calling super early tomorrow. I didn't know about expedited delivery - at this point I might just pay the fee to get my money faster. And yeah, I've already set up direct deposit for future payments. Just need to get my hands on this stupid card!

•Actually, the Money Network FAQ page states that cards can take 7-10 business days to arrive after being processed, but they don't make it clear that the processing itself can take 2-3 weeks! The whole system is designed to delay payments, I swear. Since COVID they've made everything harder, not easier.

I'd recommend trying to reach a PA UC representative directly about this issue. The Money Network customer service can only tell you general information about the card, but UC reps can actually check the status of when your card was processed and potentially help resolve the issue. I've personally had success using Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get through to an actual UC representative instead of facing busy signals all day. They have a service that helps you get through to unemployment phone lines. I watched their video demo (https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2) and was skeptical, but it actually worked for me when I had an issue with my payments not appearing on my card. The UC rep was able to verify that my card had been mailed and gave me more specific information than Money Network did. Also, make sure you're checking your mail carefully. The cards come in very plain envelopes that can look like junk mail.

•is that claimyr thing legit? sounds kinda sketchy to pay to talk to unemployment??

•I understand the skepticism - I felt the same way. But after trying for 2 weeks to reach someone, I gave it a shot. It's basically a callback service that navigates the phone system for you. The UC representatives are still the official PA staff, Claimyr just helps you get through to them. Saved me hours of redial frustration.

•Thanks for the suggestion. I'm desperate enough to try anything at this point! Just checked out that video demo - if it gets me to an actual person who can help, it's worth it. And good tip about the plain envelope - I'll double check my mail pile.

This whole Money Network card system is a massive downgrade from the old US Bank ReliaCards. They switched to save money, not to improve service for claimants. Here's what I learned during my own card delay disaster: 1. The PA Treasury Dept handles the cards, not UC directly 2. Money Network batches card mailings weekly, not daily 3. The "7-10 business days" they quote STARTS after the batch processing 4. First-time cards take longer than replacement cards 5. They won't tell you exactly when your specific card was mailed The system is intentionally designed to be opaque. When I finally got through to UC, they said they couldn't even see when Treasury processed my card! It's absolutely absurd. I ended up filing a complaint with both Treasury and my state representative. My card finally arrived after 32 days. The envelope was plain white with a Florida return address - easy to mistake for junk mail.

•32 days?! This is insane. Why don't they make this clear on their website? I had no idea about the batch processing. I'm going to call my state rep too - this is completely unacceptable. Thanks for breaking it down so clearly.

Has anyone actually managed to get them to expedite a card? When I called Money Network about expediting, they wanted to charge me $15, but couldn't even guarantee a delivery date! Plus they needed the card number to expedite, which I obviously don't have since I NEVER RECEIVED THE CARD IN THE FIRST PLACE!! The whole system feels designed to make us give up.

•they can still expedite without the card # using ur ssn and address. that's what they did for me. paid $15 and got it 2 days later. worth it tbh

•Thank you! That's really helpful to know they can use SSN instead of the card number. $15 is nothing compared to finally getting access to my benefits.

Update from my earlier comment: I just wanted to add that you should also check your UC dashboard online. Sometimes they post important messages about card issues there. Also, when your card does arrive, be sure to immediately set up the online account for Money Network so you can track your funds. The mobile app is actually decent once you get it set up. For anyone else reading this thread with similar issues, I'd strongly recommend setting up direct deposit as soon as you're eligible. It's much more reliable than the card system.

•I've been checking my dashboard obsessively but there's nothing there about the card status. But thanks for the tip about setting up the Money Network account right away - I'll do that as soon as I get the card. And yes, I've already switched to direct deposit for future payments!

anybody know if u can pick up the card in person somewhere? waiting for mail is killing me

•Unfortunately no. Money Network cards for PA UC are only delivered by mail. There's no option to pick them up in person at any UC office or Treasury location. That would be too convenient for claimants! 🙄

UPDATE: I finally got my card today! Almost exactly 4 weeks after my first payment was issued. For anyone else waiting - hang in there. I did manage to reach someone at UC through the Claimyr service mentioned above, and they confirmed my card was in the system and had been mailed. I think the call might have helped because the card arrived 3 days later. Now I'm just relieved to finally have access to my benefits!

•Glad you finally got it! The relief must be immense. Such a broken system that we have to wait this long for our own money.
