Money Network card taking forever - May 23 payment but no card yet
I'm at my wit's end with this Money Network card situation! My claim was approved and my first payment was processed on May 23rd (showed as 'paid' in UI Online), but here we are two weeks later and STILL no debit card in the mail. I've tried calling the Money Network number but it's absolutely useless because they want me to enter my card number... which I don't have because I never received the card! It's a ridiculous loop. UI Online just shows the payment as issued. Has anyone else experienced delays getting their first Money Network card? How long did yours take to arrive? I've got rent due and I'm getting desperate.

mine took 10 days to come in the mail. check if your address is right in UI Online maybe?

•I triple-checked my address in the system and it's definitely correct. Did you have to activate it somehow before it shipped? I'm wondering if I missed a step somewhere.

The first Money Network card typically takes 7-10 business days to arrive after your first payment is issued. However, with recent postal delays, some people are seeing it take up to 14 business days. Two important things to know: 1) You don't need to activate anything before it ships - it's automatically sent after your first payment processes 2) You can actually check the status without the card number by calling 866-320-8699 and choosing the "lost or stolen card" option. When it asks for the card number, just wait silently and it will eventually transfer you to a representative who can help. If it's been more than 14 business days, they may need to cancel that card and reissue a new one, which unfortunately takes another 7-10 days. Make sure you also check if any mail is being held at your post office.

•Thank you so much for this detailed info! I didn't know about the silent wait trick - I'll definitely try that tomorrow morning. It's only been about 10 business days so maybe I'm just being impatient, but bills are piling up fast.

•THREE WEEKS?? That's absolutely ridiculous! How are people supposed to pay bills while they wait that long? The EDD system is completely broken! My sister waited 18 days for hers last month and nearly got evicted. They should have stuck with the old Bank of America cards - those actually arrived in a reasonable timeframe. Money Network is a total disaster.

I work at a community assistance center, and we've seen multiple cases of Money Network card shipping delays recently. Here's what you need to know: 1. The official timeframe is 7-10 business days, but we're regularly seeing 12-15 business days currently 2. If you need emergency access to funds, you can request an expedited replacement card (costs $10 fee deducted from balance) by reaching a live representative 3. Another option is to set up direct deposit to your bank account for future payments once you get the card To actually reach a person at Money Network, keep trying different options in their phone system. Sometimes selecting the fraud department gets you a human faster who can then transfer you to the right place.

•is there anyway to just switch to direct deposit without waiting for the card? seems stupid we have to wait for a card we don't even want just to set up direct deposit smh

I was in the EXACT same situation last month! After days of trying to reach anyone at EDD or Money Network with no luck, I found this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that actually got me through to a live EDD agent who could help with my card issue. They have this system that calls EDD for you and holds your place in line - saved me hours of redial hell. Check out their demo: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km The agent I spoke with confirmed my card was actually mailed but gave me the direct Money Network extension to check status. Turns out my card was stuck in some weird processing queue and they had to manually release it. Got it 3 days later!

•Thanks for the tip! I've been trying to call EDD too with no luck. Just checked out that demo and it looks pretty straightforward. Did they actually help with the Money Network issue specifically or just general EDD questions?

•They got me through to an EDD agent who had access to see my payment status and confirmed the card was issued. The agent gave me the direct number and extension for Money Network's EDD-specific department (different than the general customer service line). That's who fixed my card delay issue.

•Yes!! This happened to me! They held it because it needed a signature or something? Very confusing. Check with USPS!

u might also wanna make sure nobody stole it from ur mailbox. my neighbors card got stolen and they spent like $500 before she realized

•Oh god, I didn't even think about that possibility. Now I'm worried someone might have stolen it. How would I even know if that happened?

•You can check if any transactions have been made on your account by calling Money Network and verifying with your SSN and personal details. If there were unauthorized transactions, you'd need to report it immediately. But most likely it's just delayed in transit - the majority of cards do arrive eventually, just later than expected.

mine took 12 days but my cousin claims they told her 12-15 business days is normal now. so frustrating!!

The whole Money Network system is a JOKE! I waited 17 days for my card while my benefits just sat there unusable. Called almost EVERY DAY and got nowhere. When it finally came, the activation process failed twice! Had to call AGAIN and spend another hour on the phone. Meanwhile, rent was late and I got hit with a $75 late fee. EDD needs to go back to direct deposit from day one as the default option.

•17 days is insane! Did they give you any compensation for the delay or help with the late fee? I'm already looking at late fees for my utilities at this point.

•LOL compensation from EDD? That'll be the day! They didn't care at all about my late fees. Just said "sorry for the inconvenience" like it was nothing. The whole system is designed to make everything as difficult as possible.

Just to provide some updated information: I checked with our benefits coordinator this morning and they confirmed there's currently a 10-15 business day processing time for initial Money Network cards. This is longer than the normal 7-10 days due to some recent changes in their processing facilities. If you do get through to Money Network, make sure to ask them to note on your account that you've been waiting. Sometimes this can flag it for expedited processing. Also, once you do receive your card, I highly recommend immediately setting up direct deposit to avoid future delays.

•Thank you for checking on this. It's really helpful to know the current timeframes. I'll definitely set up direct deposit the second I get that card. Just got to figure out how to make it through until then.
