i tried both lol. called my rep first, they were nice but nothing happened for like a week. then i used that phone service thing someone mentioned and actually got through to UC. turns out there was just a dumb issue with my work history dates that took the lady like 3 mins to fix. my claim was processed 2 days later. so yeah id try the rep but dont just wait around for them to fix it
One important thing to understand about PA UC claims under review: there are different types of issues that cause reviews, and some can be resolved more quickly than others. Identity verification issues, employer disputes, and work search compliance reviews all fall under the generic 'under review' status but have different resolution processes. When contacting your representative, be sure to explain any specific communications you've received from UC that might indicate the nature of the review. This helps them direct your case to the appropriate department.
That makes sense. I haven't received any specific communications about why I'm under review - that's part of what's so frustrating. I'll definitely be contacting my rep tomorrow and will try that Claimyr service too if I don't see movement soon. Thanks everyone for the advice!
I got so tired of waiting that I emailed my state representative's office and explained my situation. They have liaisons that work directly with the UC office and can sometimes expedite claims. Within a week of contacting my rep, I suddenly got a call from UC and my claim was processed the next day. HIGHLY recommend trying this!!!
UPDATE: So I finally got through to UC yesterday after trying that Claimyr service someone mentioned below (it actually worked!). The agent told me my claim had an "open issue" related to my separation reason that wasn't showing up on my dashboard for some reason. My employer had coded me as a voluntary quit when I was actually laid off! The agent sent a fact-finding form to both me and my former employer, and said once they get both responses, they can make a determination. At least now I know what's happening instead of being completely in the dark. Thank you all for your help and suggestions!
This is very common and explains the delay. Make sure you complete and return that fact-finding form ASAP and include any documentation that proves you were laid off (like a layoff notice, emails, etc.). The employer has 7 days to respond, then UC will make a determination. Since there's a conflict about your separation reason, be prepared for the possibility of an appeal hearing if your employer maintains you quit voluntarily.
My cousin had this happen and it turned out his employer somehow contested his claim months after it was approved and they tried to claw back the money which caused the NSF. Check your dashboard to see if any new issues appeared on your claim!
Update us once you get this resolved! I think a lot of people would benefit from knowing how you fixed it since this seems to be happening more frequently lately.
Will do! I managed to get through to Treasury this morning using the Claimyr service someone suggested above. They confirmed it was a system error during batch processing and said they'll reissue the payment within 2-3 business days. The agent also suggested switching to the Money Network card temporarily until they resolve all the direct deposit glitches. Thanks everyone for your help!
I remember this tax thing... my neighbor was telling me about it last summer when we were talking about my daughter's college financial aid forms... she got a check for like $1,200 from it but that was way back in 2021 I think? She said it just showed up in her mail one day without her doing anything special. Hope that helps!
To follow up on my earlier comment - I did eventually get my refund, but only after filing an amended return with help from a tax preparer. I had to provide my 1099-G from unemployment and specifically reference the American Rescue Plan Act exclusion. It took about 4 months to process after that. The annoying part was paying for tax help for something that should have been automatic!

Has anyone tried using the UC Connect app? I had similar issues last year but found the mobile app was sometimes more reliable than the website for recovering login information. Also, for partial benefits, you need to make sure you're using the right claim type. Regular UC works for most reduced hours situations, but if your employer is using a Work Share program, there's a different process.

UPDATE: I managed to get through to PA UC! Here's what worked: 1. Used the PIN reset line (888-313-7284) first thing Monday morning at 7:58am 2. Got my PIN reset 3. Used the chat function on the website to recover my username 4. Was able to login and file my partial benefit claims for the past 3 weeks The agent told me that with partial benefits, I need to file every week even if my hours fluctuate. As long as I earn less than my weekly benefit rate plus the partial benefit credit (about 30% extra), I'll receive something. Thanks everyone for your help!
