PA UC payment delayed after holiday - no pending deposits showing on Money Network card

I submitted my PA unemployment claim this past Monday at midnight (literally 12:00am). Since Monday was the Presidents Day holiday, I figured my payment would show up either today or tomorrow. But I'm checking my Money Network card and don't see anything - no pending deposits, no activity at all related to this week's claim. The PA UC website isn't showing any issues with my claim, but the money just isn't there. Is the holiday delaying things more than usual? How long should I expect to wait before I start worrying? My rent is due next week and I'm cutting it close.

Holiday always mess up the deposits. give it till friday b4 u start freakin out

Thanks, that's a relief. Just stressing because I've never filed right after a holiday before.

PA UC payment processing typically takes 2-3 business days after filing. Since Monday was Presidents Day (a federal holiday), Tuesday would be considered the first business day after your filing. The payment system doesn't count holidays or weekends as business days. Most payments after a holiday get processed with a 1-day delay, so you'll likely see it tomorrow or Friday at the latest. One thing to check - did you complete your work search activities for the week and report them correctly? Sometimes that can hold things up if there's an issue there.

Yes! I did my work search and reported all 3 activities correctly. I'm hoping it shows up tomorrow then. Do you know what time of day they usually deposit? Like is it always morning or could it be anytime?

When I had UC last year the deposits were always super random times. Sometimes 3am sometimes noon. No pattern at all lol

THIS HAPPENS EVERY SINGLE HOLIDAY!!! The UC system in PA is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE about communicating payment delays. They never bother to post notices saying "hey due to the holiday expect delays" - they just leave us all hanging and wondering if something's wrong with our claims! I've been on and off unemployment for 3 years and EVERY holiday it's the same story. And just wait until there are TWO holidays in the same month - total chaos!!

That's frustrating! You'd think they'd at least have a banner on the website or something warning about the delays.

I was having this exact same issue last month after MLK day. I got so frustrated trying to reach someone at PA UC to figure out what was happening with my payment. After getting busy signals for two straight days, I finally used Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get through to an agent. They got me connected in about 20 minutes and the agent confirmed my payment was just delayed due to the holiday processing schedule. You can see how it works in their video: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2 Might be worth trying if you don't see your payment by Friday and want to confirm there's no issues with your claim.

Holiday payment processing varies depending on when you file your weekly claim. Here's what typically happens with PA UC payments around holidays: 1. Claims filed before the holiday weekend usually process as normal but may be delayed by 1 business day 2. Claims filed on the holiday (like yours on Monday at midnight) typically start processing on the next business day (Tuesday) 3. The Money Network card typically shows pending deposits about 24-48 hours after processing begins Since you filed right at midnight after the holiday, your payment is likely in the Tuesday processing batch. I'd expect it to appear tomorrow (Thursday). If you don't see anything by Friday morning, then you might want to contact UC to check if there's an issue. For your rent situation, you might want to have a backup plan just in case there's an unexpected delay.

Thank you for breaking it down so clearly! That makes sense. I'll wait until Friday before I panic, and I'll see if I can talk to my landlord about a possible grace period just in case.

My sister works for Pennsylvania UC and she says they're always swamped after holidays. The payment system gets backlogged because everyone files at once when the system opens back up. I bet you'll see it tomorrow. Not much you can do but wait unfortunately.

UPDATE: My payment just hit my Money Network card about an hour ago! So it took from Monday midnight filing until Thursday afternoon to show up. Thanks everyone for your help and reassurance! For anyone else searching about holiday delays - expect an extra 1-2 business days after a holiday weekend.

Great news! Thanks for updating the thread - it's helpful for others who might search for this issue in the future. The post-holiday delay is pretty consistent in PA's system.
