PA UC dashboard verification loop - email/phone number 'not on file' error after successful login

So frustrating!! I logged into my PA unemployment account yesterday with no problems. Today I tried to log in, entered my username & password correctly, and it takes me to the verification page (which never happened before). When I click 'send verification code' it claims I don't have an email or phone number on file!!! How is that possible when I've been filing my weekly claims for 2 months?? My email is definitely on file because I get notifications from them. Anyone else have this happen? I'm worried I'll miss my filing window and lose my benefits this week. Already tried clearing browser cookies and using a different device - same error.

Did you figure out how to fix it? I'm supposed to file by tomorrow and I'm starting to panic

This is a known glitch with the PA UC verification system that happens when they do backend updates. Three things you can try: 1. Wait 4-6 hours and try again (sometimes their system needs time to sync) 2. Try logging in between 7-8am when server load is lower 3. Use the "Forgot Username/Password" option to reset your credentials, which sometimes refreshes your contact info in their system One important note: Even if you miss your regular filing day due to this technical issue, PA UC allows you to file within 14 days of your regular filing date. You'll need to explain the system error prevented timely filing, but they routinely approve these cases.

Thank you!!! I'll try the password reset option right now and if that doesn't work I'll try again early tomorrow morning. Good to know about the 14 day window too - that makes me feel a little better.

i bet they deleted ur contact info on purpose they did that to my cousin too they just want u to give up and not get benefits PA UC IS THE WORST

That's not accurate. The system has glitches but they don't deliberately delete contact information. I work in IT and these kinds of synchronization issues happen in many large government systems. The verification system and the main account database sometimes get out of sync during updates.

I had this exact issue! The password reset didn't work for me because it tried to send a reset link to... wait for it... the email they claimed wasn't on file! Complete circle of frustration. I ended up spending 3 days trying to get through on the phone before I found out about Claimyr (claimyr.com). They connected me to an actual UC rep in about 20 minutes. There's a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2 The rep had to manually update something in my account to fix the verification loop. Apparently when they migrated some accounts to a new security system, contact info didn't transfer properly for some people.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've been trying the phone for hours with no luck. Is that service legit? I'm desperate at this point so might try anything.

Yeah it's legit. My sister-in-law used it first and told me about it. The UC rep I talked to was definitely a real PA unemployment person who fixed my account.

This is a common issue that has been happening more frequently since PA UC implemented their new identity verification system in January 2025. Here's what's happening behind the scenes: The verification system operates separately from the main UC account database. During their regular maintenance windows (usually Tuesday nights), these systems sometimes get out of sync. When this happens, the verification system can't "see" your contact information even though it still exists in the main system. In addition to the suggestions above, you can also: 1. Try the UC Connect chat feature on the website during business hours 2. Email uchelp@pa.gov with subject line "Verification Error - Contact Info Not Found" and include your name and last 4 of SSN 3. If truly urgent, visit your local PA CareerLink office in person In my experience helping claimants, this issue typically resolves within 24-48 hours even without intervention, but having a rep manually refresh your profile is the fastest solution.

Thank you for explaining! The UC Connect chat says "all agents are busy" every time I try. I'll try emailing them right now with that subject line. Really appreciate the detailed explanation.

I had this stupid verification loop thing happen twice to me!!! First time I panicked and drove 45 mins to the CareerLink office and waited 2 hours. Second time I just waited a day and it fixed itself lol. The whole PA UC system is held together with duct tape I swear.

UPDATE: I got it fixed! Used Claimyr this morning and got through to a rep in about 25 mins. The lady on the phone said my account got flagged for "identity verification" during a system update but the notification email about it got sent to my old email address from 2 years ago! She reset something on her end and had me try logging in while on the phone with her. It worked! She also filed my weekly claim for me since I was past my regular filing day. Thank you all for the help and suggestions!

Great to hear you got it resolved! For anyone else reading this thread with the same issue - make sure your contact information is up to date on BOTH the main dashboard AND the separate contact preferences page. They're actually stored in different databases, which is why these sync issues happen.

Just wanted to add another potential solution that worked for me when I had this same issue a few weeks ago. If you're using a VPN or your internet provider has recently changed your IP address, PA UC's system sometimes flags your login as suspicious and forces verification but then can't access your contact info due to security protocols. Try logging in from a different network (like mobile data instead of wifi, or vice versa). Also, make sure you're accessing the site through the official pa.gov domain and not through any bookmarked shortcuts that might be going through cached pages. The verification system is definitely buggy but I've noticed it tends to work better during off-peak hours (early morning or late evening). Glad to see @GalaxyGazer got it sorted out!

That's a really good point about the VPN/IP address issue! I never would have thought of that. I was actually using my work VPN when this first happened to me. Going to save this tip for future reference. It's crazy how many different things can trigger these verification loops in the PA UC system.

This thread is incredibly helpful - I'm bookmarking it for future reference! I haven't had this specific verification loop issue yet, but I've had other glitches with the PA UC system that make me think it's just a matter of time. For anyone dealing with this, one thing I learned from a CareerLink counselor is that you can also submit a "technical issue report" through the PA UC website under the Help section. It doesn't get you immediate help, but it creates a paper trail that shows you tried to file on time but couldn't due to system errors. This documentation can be really important if there are ever questions about late filings or missed deadlines. The fact that @GalaxyGazer's issue was caused by a notification going to an old email address from 2 years ago really shows how fragmented their system is. Definitely going to double-check all my contact info is current!

That's such a smart tip about submitting the technical issue report! I wish I had known about that when I was dealing with this - would have saved me so much stress about missing deadlines. The documentation aspect is really important, especially with how unpredictable the PA UC system can be. Thanks for sharing that info from the CareerLink counselor. Going to make sure I have that bookmarked too in case I run into issues in the future.

I'm dealing with this exact same issue right now! Been trying to log in for the past 3 hours and keep getting the "email/phone number not on file" error even though I literally got an email from PA UC yesterday about updating my job search activities. It's so maddening when you know your information is in their system but their verification process can't find it. Reading through all these responses gives me hope that it's fixable though. Going to try the password reset option first, then maybe the Claimyr service if that doesn't work. Really appreciate everyone sharing their experiences and solutions - this community is a lifesaver when dealing with PA UC's technical disasters! @GalaxyGazer glad you got yours resolved! Definitely going to check that my contact info is updated in both places like @Aisha mentioned.
