PA UC appeal form keeps loading blank screen on mobile - driving me crazy!

Is anyone else having problems filing an appeal on their phone? I've tried FIFTEEN TIMES to submit my appeal through the PA UC portal on my iPhone and it's making me want to throw my phone through a wall! Every single time I carefully type out my whole reason for appealing (which takes forever on a phone keyboard), I hit the Next button and boom - just get a blank screen. Nothing saves, nothing submits. I've wasted hours on this already. Do I seriously have to find a computer or is there some trick to making the mobile site actually work? This system is complete garbage.

I had the same issue last month. The PA UC appeals system isn't optimized for mobile at all. I finally got it to work by switching to 'desktop mode' in my browser settings. On iPhone, tap the 'aA' icon in the address bar, then select 'Request Desktop Website'. That solved it for me.

Ok I'll try that right now. This is so frustrating because not everyone has a computer at home!

dont bother with online appeals anyway. they take forever to process. better to call them directly and do it over the phone.

I've been trying to call them for 3 days! All I get is busy signals or that automated message saying call volume is too high. How did you get through??

The appeal section of the PA UC website is notoriously bad on mobile devices. It's because they use an outdated form system that requires Flash or something similar that most mobile browsers don't support properly. I work in IT and had to help my sister with the same issue. Your best options are: 1. Use a desktop/laptop computer 2. Try the desktop site mode as suggested above 3. Use the Chrome browser specifically (seemed to work better than Safari in my experience) 4. As a last resort, you can submit appeals by mail using Form UC-46A This is unfortunately a common problem with many government websites that haven't been updated to be mobile-friendly.

No Flash isnt the issue, Flash was discontinued years ago. Its just bad programming from the state website developers. They dont test their forms on different browsers.

If you need to reach PA UC directly to file your appeal over the phone, I'd recommend trying Claimyr (claimyr.com). I was in the exact same situation last month with an appeal I needed to file quickly. After trying for days to get through the normal way, I used their service and got connected to an actual UC rep in about 20 minutes. They have a video showing how it works here: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2 The rep I spoke with was able to take all my appeal information over the phone and submit it properly. Saved me a ton of frustration.

Thank you!!! I'll check this out. At this point I'd do anything to just get this appeal filed before my deadline.

I had the EXACT same issue! Tried like 20 times on my phone & nothing worked. Ended up having to go to the library and use their computers. The whole PA unemployment system is designed to make everything as difficult as possible so people give up. It's intentional.

Going to the library is a good idea actually. I might try that if the desktop mode suggestion doesn't work. Thanks!

Have you tried clearing your cache and cookies? Sometimes that helps with weird form issues. Also make sure your phone is fully updated. I had problems with the PA UC site until I updated my iOS. The appeal forms worked for me after that.

Just tried clearing cache and cookies and still having the same problem. My phone is on the latest iOS too. This is so frustrating!

UPDATE: I finally got it working! For anyone else having this problem, the desktop site mode suggestion from @user2 worked perfectly. Had to check the 'Request Desktop Website' option in Safari and then the form submitted properly. Thank you all for the help!

Great! Glad that worked for you. It's ridiculous they haven't fixed this issue yet, but at least there's a workaround.
