PA UC W2 forms for 2024 - are they available online yet?

Has anyone been able to access their 2024 W2 forms from PA unemployment yet? I've been checking my dashboard for weeks and don't see anything. Tax season is coming up fast and I need to get my return filed ASAP for my kid's college financial aid. Last year I remember getting them in late January, but nothing's showing up in my account yet. Do I need to request it somewhere specific or are they just running behind this year?

They're called 1099-G forms, not W2s. Employers send W2s, government agencies send 1099-G forms for unemployment compensation. PA UC usually has them available by January 31st, but sometimes it can take until early February. You can access them by logging into your dashboard and clicking on the 'View 1099-G Tax Forms' link under the Services menu. If you don't see that option, try clicking on 'Additional Services' first.

Oh geez, you're right. I meant 1099-G! Been juggling too many tax forms I guess. Thanks for the correction and info. I'll keep checking through early February then.

I just checked mine yesturday and its not there for me either!!! So frustrating bc I always file my taxes early to get my refund. Last year they were super late with there 1099s too and I had to wait till almost valentines day. Has anyone actually SEEN their 2024 form posted yet??

Same boat here. Nothing yet. PA UC is always so slow with everything 🙄

If you need your 1099-G urgently, you can actually call the UC service center and request them to mail you a copy. They told me that's sometimes faster than waiting for the online version to appear.

HA! Good luck getting through to UC on the phone! I tried calling 37 times yesterday and kept getting busy signals or disconnected!!

I had the same issue last year and spent DAYS trying to get through to someone at UC. After like 200 calls and getting nowhere, I found this service called Claimyr that got me through to an agent in under 20 minutes. They have a demo video that shows how it works: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2. I used it to get my 1099-G issue sorted. Their website is claimyr.com if anyone's desperate to talk to someone at UC without the endless busy signals.

Thanks for sharing this! If they're not up by the first week of Feb, I might need to try that. My FAFSA deadline is coming up fast.

There's also another option many people don't know about. If you need your 1099-G information before it's available online, you can calculate it yourself by adding up all the payments you received during 2024. The UC system reports exactly what you received, so your payment history will match what will be on the form. Just make sure you're only counting payments that were actually issued in 2024 (not claims filed for earlier weeks that might have paid out in January). To access your payment history: 1. Log into your UC dashboard 2. Click on "View Payments" 3. Set the date range for January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024 4. Add up all payments received This total is what will appear on your 1099-G in Box 1. Remember that federal taxes withheld (if you opted for that) will appear in Box 4.

That's super helpful! I didn't think of doing that. I did have taxes withheld so I'll need to figure that part out too, but at least I can get a head start. Thanks!

last year i never got mine online at all! had to request paper copy by mail. system is so broken sometimes. the phone lines are a joke too.

Did you verify that your mailing address was correct in the system? A lot of people miss that step and then their forms get sent to old addresses.

Just wanted to update - I checked this morning and my 1099-G is now available online in my PA UC account. Looks like they're starting to roll them out. Everyone should check their accounts again.
