called the ny unemployment helpline and after TWO HOURS on hold they told me that yes, Columbus Day will delay payments by one business day. So if you normally get paid Monday, expect Tuesday. If Tuesday, expect Wednesday, etc. Hope this helps someone else not waste their day on hold!

protip: if u have cashapp or chime, they sometimes release the pending deposits early even on holidays. Saved my butt during Memorial Day when regular banks were delayed.
