If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Direct deposit has been available the whole time, but a lot of people get automatically enrolled in the debit card program and don't realize they can switch. Some accounts have restrictions though - if you have any overpayment issues or your claim is under review they might lock you into the debit card temporarily.

just wanted to say thanks for asking this question! I had no idea I could switch and just set up direct deposit after reading this thread. should have done this months ago

Wait I'm confused - if you get fired do you still have to do the job search requirements? I thought that was only if you quit or got laid off. This whole unemployment thing is so complicated!!!

Yes, you still need to meet job search requirements regardless of why you're unemployed. NYS Department of Labor requires you to actively look for work and document your job search activities for your weekly claims.

Good luck! I was so worried when I got fired but the unemployment process was actually pretty straightforward. Just be honest about everything and keep all your documentation from your employer.

The whole system is ridiculous. I made $65K last year and only get $387 a week. Meanwhile my rent alone is $1,800 a month. How are we supposed to survive on these amounts while looking for work?

I feel you. The benefits barely cover basic expenses, especially in NYC area.

For anyone still confused about the calculation: NYS Department of Labor looks at your four highest quarters of earnings in your base period, adds them up to see if you qualify, then uses ONLY your single highest quarter to calculate the weekly amount. So if your highest quarter was $13,000, you'd get roughly $250 per week (13,000 ÷ 26 ÷ 2). The exact formula has some variations but that's the basic idea.

This whole situation is so frustrating!! The economy is clearly in bad shape but they're not doing anything to help people who can't find work. I've applied to over 200 jobs and gotten maybe 5 interviews. How are we supposed to survive on just 26 weeks when there are NO JOBS out there?

I feel you, it's really tough out there right now. Are you making sure to log all your job search activities? NYS Department of Labor requires documentation of your search efforts.

Keep in mind that even during recessions, you still need to meet all the regular requirements - filing weekly claims, documenting job searches, being available for work. The economic conditions don't change those basic UI rules. Make sure you're staying compliant while waiting to see if any extensions become available.

The NYS Department of Labor system is so frustrating!! I've been waiting 4 weeks for my claim to be approved and they keep asking for more documentation. First they wanted my separation letter, then they wanted proof of my previous wages, now they want something else. It's like they're trying to make it impossible to get benefits!

0 coins

That sounds like your claim went into adjudication, which can definitely take longer. What reason did they give for the separation? Some circumstances trigger additional review.

just keep filing weekly even if not approved yet thats what i did
