Will Memorial Day delay my NYS Department of Labor unemployment payment?
I usually get my unemployment benefits deposited on Tuesday but with Memorial Day being Monday I'm worried it might be delayed. Does anyone know if NYS Department of Labor payments get pushed back when there's a federal holiday? I have bills due Wednesday and really need to know if I should expect the deposit on the normal day or if it'll be later in the week.

Federal holidays don't usually affect NYS Department of Labor payment schedules since they process through the state system, not federal banking. Your Tuesday deposit should still come through as normal. I've been collecting for 8 months and never had a delay for holidays like Memorial Day or Labor Day.

actually i think it depends on your bank too... some banks dont process deposits on days after holidays even if the state sends them out

UGH the whole system is so unpredictable!! I've had payments delayed for no reason at all, then other times they come early. NYS Department of Labor really needs to give us better communication about when to expect our money especially around holidays.
