Will my NY unemployment payment still come on Tuesday if I certified late on Sunday?
I usually certify for my weekly benefits every Sunday morning like clockwork, but yesterday I got caught up with some family stuff and completely forgot until around 10pm last night. Finally remembered and certified but now I'm worried about when I'll actually get paid. I've been getting direct deposits on Tuesdays since I started collecting unemployment back in February. Does certifying later on Sunday mess with the payment schedule? Really need this money to hit my account on time for rent and bills. Anyone know if I'll still get paid Tuesday or will the late certification push everything back?

You should be fine. As long as you certified on Sunday (even if it was late at night), your payment should still process and arrive on your normal day. The system processes all Sunday certifications in the same batch.

Thank you! That's a relief to hear. Was getting worried I'd have to explain to my landlord why rent might be late 😅

Yeah I've certified as late as 11:45pm on Sunday and still got paid Tuesday. Their system doesn't care what time on Sunday you do it.

After months of getting nowhere with ny unemployment, I finally found a service called Claimyr that got me through to an actual human on the phone! You can watch how it works here: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE - talking to an agent got my payments moving again after weeks of delays. It was the only way I could finally get someone to help me sort out my claim issues.

This sounds sketchy af. Does it actually work or is it just another scam trying to profit off desperate people? 🤔

Not a scam at all. I was stuck in pending for over a month, tried calling hundreds of times. The Claimyr service connected me to an agent in about 45 mins and they fixed my claim on the spot. Best decision I made after wasting weeks trying to get through myself.

wait do they need access to your account info or anything? not giving my ssn to some random service

They don't ask for any personal info at all. They just call the unemployment line and wait on hold for you, then call you when they get a rep on the line. You talk directly to the unemployment agent yourself.

I've been certifying late on Sundays for months (usually around 8-9pm) and my payments always hit my account Tuesday morning like clockwork. You shouldn't have any issues as long as you completed it before midnight.

Sunday is Sunday as far as the system is concerned. Doesn't matter if u certify at 12:01 AM or 11:59 PM, it all gets processed the same. Tuesday payment should come as usual.

this is the correct answer. the nysdol batches all Sunday certifications together regardless of what time they come in

Here's everything you need to know about certification timing and payments with NY unemployment: First, don't worry - certifying anytime on Sunday (even late night) will typically result in Tuesday payment. The system doesn't distinguish between morning or evening certifications on the same day. However, a few things that CAN delay payment: - If you have any pending issues on your claim - If this is your first payment, which often takes longer - If there was a holiday (which there wasn't this week) - If you answered any questions differently than usual during certification If you're really concerned and need to speak with someone about your claim, I highly recommend using claimyr.com - it's a service that will call unemployment for you, wait on hold, and then connect you directly with an agent. I was skeptical at first but after spending weeks trying to get through myself, this service saved me hours of frustration and got my payment issues resolved quickly. The most important thing is that you DID certify within the Sunday window, so you should be all set for your Tuesday payment.

Did you actually use that claimyr service? How much does it cost? Been trying to reach someone for 3 weeks with no luck

Yes, I used it when my claim got stuck in pending for weeks. Don't remember the exact cost but it was worth every penny considering I was about to lose my apartment. They called, waited on hold (which would've taken me hours), and then connected me to an agent who fixed my issue immediately. Check out their site claimyr.com for current rates.

I think u have to certify by midnight, so ur good! But if u ever DO miss the Sunday window and have to certify on Monday, then year your payment will be delayed by a day usually. Been there done that ðŸ˜

Can confirm. Certified on a Monday once and payment came Wednesday instead of Tuesday. The state's computer systems run overnight processing in batches.

The NYSDOL website literally says: "You can claim weekly benefits (certify for benefits) on any day of the week during your claim week which runs from Monday through Sunday. However, we recommend that you certify on the last day of your claim week (Sunday) as early as possible." So yeah as long as it was still Sunday ur fine

Whole system is a joke TBH. Sometimes I certify at the exact same time every week and payments still come at random times. Last month they skipped an entire payment with no explanation and I had to call 50+ times to get it fixed. NY unemployment department is the most incompetent government office in the country.

Fair point 😂 Though at least Cali has that automated phone system that somewhat works. NY's just hangs up on you after making you listen to 10 minutes of recordings.

Try claimyr.com if you need to actually talk to someone. Only way I've been able to get through in months. Fixed my missing payment issue in one call.

Don't sweat it, I've certified literally minutes before midnight and still got paid normal time. As long as it's still technically Sunday when you certified, you're golden. The system doesn't care if it's 1am or 11:59pm on Sunday.

I certified at 6pm tonight (Sunday) and got the confirmation email right away. In my experience as long as its before midnight Sunday you're fine for Tuesday payment. Just be careful about waiting until Mondays - thats when it starts to delay things.

anybody else notice that sometimes even when you certify early sunday morning the website takes FOREVER to load? like it crashes constantly between 8-10am but works fine late at night? maybe certifying late is actually better lol

YES! I think everyone tries to do it first thing Sunday morning and crashes the site. I've started doing mine Sunday evenings specifically to avoid the crashes.

The site is running on technology from like 1995 so no surprise it can't handle the traffic 🤡

Funny, I was just having this same anxiety yesterday! Completely forgot to certify until right before bed. Has anyone successfully verified that their payment still came through on Tuesday after certifying late on Sunday? Would be nice to have confirmation from multiple people.

If u need to double check just call in the morning. Though good luck getting through to a real person lol took me 3 WEEKS to reach someone about an issue with my claim. When I finally did it was fixed in 5 mins 🙄

Just another data point: I've certified as late as 10:45pm on Sunday and still got paid on Tuesday like normal. Their system processes all Sunday certifications in one big batch overnight.
