Will ny unemployment be delayed if I certified on Monday instead of Sunday?

You're fine. I've done this a couple times. Your payment will probably be delayed by a day or two, so instead of Tuesday you might get it Wednesday or Thursday. The system processes Sunday certifications in the main batch, and later ones get picked up in subsequent batches.

It will be delayed a bit. I certify on Mondays sometimes and usually get paid Thursday instead of Tuesday. Not a huge deal but plan accordingly if you have bills due!

ALWAYS CERTIFY ON SUNDAY!!! Seriously tho, the system is designed to process Sunday claims first. Monday claims take longer. not the end of the world but definitely gonna push ur payment back by at least 1-2 days. mark ur calendar next time 👍

In my experience, certifying on Monday means you'll get paid on Thursday instead of Tuesday. The nysdol website actually explains this somewhere in the FAQs but it's buried in there. Basically they run the main payment batch Sunday night, and everything after that goes into later processing cycles.

Here's what happens: Sunday certification = Tuesday payment Monday certification = Thursday payment Tuesday-Saturday certification = Next week payment cycle So certifying Monday isn't a big deal, just 2 days later than usual. BUT never wait past Monday or you'll miss the entire week's payment cycle and have to wait until the following week. If you absolutely need to speak with someone about your claim, don't waste days trying to call. I used claimyr.com and it was a game changer - they kept dialing until they got through then connected me directly to an agent. Literally saved me days of frustration and got my issue resolved in one call.

They should really make this clearer on ther website! I had the same thing happen last month and FREAKED OUT thinking I'd lose my whole weeks benefits. But nope, just got paid on Thursday instead of Tuesday. You're good.

I certify on whatever day I remember and my bank always gets the deposit on Friday, no matter what. I think it might depend on your bank too.

Don't stress about it! I've certified on Monday plenty of times and it's really not a big deal. Your payment will just be delayed by a couple days - so instead of getting it Tuesday, expect it Wednesday or Thursday. The NY unemployment system processes certifications in batches, with Sunday being the main batch and later ones getting picked up in subsequent processing cycles. As long as you don't certify after Monday, you won't miss the entire week's payment cycle. Set a phone alarm for Sunday mornings going forward - I learned that trick after missing it a few times myself!
