This isn't exactly right. I made $52K and got my refund two weeks ago, but my neighbor makes $48K and still hasn't received hers. I think they're also looking at whether you had other state unemployment in the mix or just NY. Pure NY claims seem to be processed faster.

ya its frustrating but my tax guy said they always do batches and theres usually some logic to it, just not always obvious. last year they did it by last 2 digits of ssn.

No notification at all - it just appeared in my bank account this morning. The only reason I knew to check was because of this thread! You might want to keep an eye on your account if you're in a similar situation.
