The system is showing zero for everyone who stopped claiming before December 2021. It's some kind of calendar year programming error. If you claimed through December 31, your form is fine. If you stopped before then (like you did in September), it shows zero. Complete trash programming but that's NY unemployment for ya! 🗑️
LPT: Skip the frustration and use claimyr.com when you need to reach ny unemployment. just did it yesterday for this exact issue and got my corrected 1099 being mailed to me. talking to a human fixed everything in 10 mins after days of trying to call myself.
yeah their systems don't talk to each other. the right hand doesnt know what the left is doing. you got emails saying you were eligible but then their audit system flagged you. classic NY unemployment mess.
Theres a whole underground economy of scammers who specialize in unemployment fraud. They buy peoples personal info on the dark web, file claims, then route the $ to money mule accounts. Im a fraud investigator (not for NY) and these cases take MONTHS to resolve. Sorry ur going thru this.
Not exactly the same but my friend had a similar issue with her 1099-G showing more than she received. Turns out unemployment had been sending payments to her old closed bank account for 3 months. When she finally got through to someone, they reissued all her payments. Definitely call and escalate!!
Wooooow 5 months is criminal! I'm going on 6 weeks and already panicking. Is there anything specific she did that finally got things moving? I've uploaded every document they asked for but still nothing.

EXACTLY the same thing happened to me - I even added up all the withheld amounts from my supplement payments and it came to like $600+ that isn't showing on my 1099. I managed to get through to someone (took forever) who explained that these withholdings are handled differently and we should just use the 1099 as is.

You guys are WAY overthinking this. Just use whats on the 1099-G. The IRS and unemployment talk to each other. If there's a problem they'll let you know. I had the same concern last year and everything went through fine.

•lol fair point. But in this case they do share the data properly. It's one of the few things that actually works right.
