New York Unemployment: Can I visit a physical unemployment office to complete my application?
Trying to complete my unemployment application but getting nowhere with the phones. Been trying for 2 weeks straight. Anyone had any luck going to an actual unemployment office in person? Getting desperate here since my savings are running low.

Hate to break it to you but the physical offices have been closed since covid. They never reopened them to the public. Everything is phone and online only now 😤

I found a way to actually get through on the phones! Used this service called claimyr.com - it costs $20 but they dial and wait on hold for you, then connect you when a real person picks up. Here's a video about how it works: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

•100% legit, got through in like 2 hours. better than calling for weeks straight and getting nowhere

•Just tried it myself, actually worked! Worth the $20 considering I was about to lose my mind calling everyday 💯

Been dealing with NY unemployment for months now. Here's what I've learned: First, the physical offices are closed to the public. Don't waste your time trying to go there. Your best options are: 1. Keep calling early morning (7:30am sharp) 2. Use claimyr.com if you're willing to pay $20 (worked for me) 3. Try the online chat feature between 2-4pm when it's less busy 4. Email them through the secure message system Document everything - dates, times, reference numbers. If you get through, ask for a callback number or extension. And whatever you do, don't give up. The system is frustrating but persistence pays off.
