Need help contacting agent to finish unemployment application - any tips?

Hey everyone, I'm trying to finish my unemployment application but I'm stuck. I need to talk to an agent to complete it. Has anyone gone through this process recently? Any tips on how to get in touch with someone? I've been trying for days and can't seem to get through.

Ugh, I feel your pain. The unemployment system is a nightmare rn. I spent weeks trying to get through to someone. Keep calling and eventually you'll get lucky. Good luck!

Pro tip: call right when they open. I mean literally dial the second they start taking calls. It's still a pain, but your chances are way better.

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. After weeks of trying, I was desperate enough to try anything. The $20 was worth it to finally get my application sorted.

How long did you have to wait with this service?

It took about 2 hours total, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music. The service called me when an agent was on the line.

Here's what worked for me: 1. Call early in the morning, like 7:55 AM 2. Use multiple phones if you can 3. If you get through the menu, stay on hold no matter what 4. Be prepared with all your docs before calling 5. Be super nice to the agent when you finally get one It's a numbers game, but persistence pays off. Don't give up!

This is solid advice 💯 Especially being nice to the agent. They deal with angry people all day, a little kindness goes a long way.

Have you tried reaching out on social media? Sometimes tweeting at the unemployment office can get their attention.

I second this! I got a response on Facebook after weeks of nothing.

This whole system is BROKEN. Why do we have to jump through so many hoops just to get the help we need? It's like they're trying to discourage us from claiming what we're entitled to. 🤬

Anyone know if there's a best day of the week to call? I heard Wednesdays are less busy but idk if that's true.

Hey OP, what part of the application are you stuck on? Maybe we can help you figure it out without needing to call.

Thanks for asking! I'm having trouble with the employment history section. It's not accepting my previous job info for some reason.

I had the same issue! Try entering the dates in MM/DD/YYYY format even if it doesn't specify. That fixed it for me.
