NYDOL: Can't get through to an agent on 888-209-8124. Any tips?
Hey everyone, I'm having a really hard time getting through to an agent at NYC unemployment. I've been trying to call for days but can't seem to connect with anyone. The number I'm using is 1-888-209-8124. Has anyone else had this problem? Any tips on how to actually reach a human? I'm getting desperate here.

Welcome to the club, buddy. š I've been trying to get through for weeks now. It's like they're purposely making it impossible to talk to a real person.

Weeks? Try months! š I swear, it's easier to win the lottery than to get someone on the phone at NYDOL.

Ugh, I know right? It's like we're all stuck in this endless game of phone tag. Anyone else feel like they're gonna lose their mind? š¤Ŗ

I feel your pain, OP. Have you tried calling right when they open? I've heard that's the best time to get through.

Yeah, I've tried that. Set my alarm for 7:55 AM and everything. Still no luck. š

Pro tip: Try calling on Wednesdays. For some reason, I've had better luck midweek. Might just be superstition at this point tho lol

Guys, I finally found a method that works! I used this site called claimyr.com. It's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then connects you when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it actually worked for me. Here's a video explaining how it works: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

Sounds too good to be true. Are you sure it's legit? š¤

I was skeptical too, but I can confirm it's real. Used it last week and finally got through after months of trying.

I get it, but for me it was worth it. Spent way more than $20 in time and frustration trying to get through on my own.

Here's what I've learned after dealing with NYDOL for the past few months: ā¢ Persistence is key. Keep calling, even if it feels hopeless. ā¢ Try different times of day. Early morning and late afternoon seem to work best. ā¢ Use the online system as much as possible for basic stuff. ā¢ If you have to call, have all your info ready (SSN, claim ID, etc.) ā¢ Be polite to the agents when you do get through. They're swamped too. ā¢ Consider using a auto-dialer service if you're really stuck. Hang in there, everyone. I know it's frustrating, but we're all in this together. šŖ

Great advice! One more tip: if you get through and then get disconnected, call back immediately. Sometimes they can see you were just on the line and will prioritize your call.

anyone else feel like the whole system is rigged against us? like they make it so hard on purpose so people just give up?

100% agree. It's a feature, not a bug. They're hoping we'll get frustrated and stop trying to claim what we're owed.

Idk man, I think they're just overwhelmed. Remember how crazy things got during covid? Probably still catching up.

Maybe, but you'd think they'd have figured it out by now. It's been years since covid started.

Has anyone tried reaching out to their local representatives? I've heard sometimes they can help push things through.
