Need help sending NJ info to NY unemployment - stuck and frustrated!
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle. I need to send some information from New Jersey to New York unemployment. Has anyone dealt with this before? I'm not sure how to go about it or who to contact. Any advice would be really appreciated!

I found a way to solve cross-state unemployment information transfer, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8E58ekwSNE

Ugh, dealing with unemployment across state lines is such a headache. I had to do something similar last year. Have you tried calling the NY unemployment office directly? They might be able to guide you through the process.

Thanks for the suggestion! I've been trying to get through to them, but the lines are always busy. It's so frustrating š«

Pro tip: call right when they open. Like, set an alarm and everything. Sometimes you can get through faster that way.

That's a good idea! I'll give it a shot tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed š¤

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

Yeah, it's legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

Idk man, seems kinda sketchy to pay for something that should be free...

I get where you're coming from, but trust me, after weeks of trying to get through, this was a lifesaver. Sometimes you gotta spend money to save time.

Have you checked if theres an online portal where you can submit the information? Sometimes its easier to do stuff online than trying to reach a human on the phone.

I've been in the same boat, trying to deal with cross-state unemployment issues. It's a nightmare! š¤® Here's what I learned: ā¢ First, gather all your NJ employment documents. You'll need them. ā¢ Try to find a direct email for the NY unemployment office. Sometimes emailing is faster than calling. ā¢ If you do call, be prepared to wait. Like, for hours. Bring snacks lol ā¢ Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. It might come in handy later. ā¢ Check if there's a specific form for out-of-state info. Some states have these. Good luck, OP! The system is broken, but don't give up!

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely start gathering my documents. Do you know if there's a specific email for NY unemployment?

Quick question - are you currently living in NJ or NY? That might affect how you approach this.

I'm currently in NY, but my previous job was in NJ. That's why I need to send the NJ info to NY unemployment.

Ah, gotcha. Yeah, that complicates things a bit. Definitely focus on contacting NY unemployment then, since they'll be handling your claim.

Have you tried reaching out to your local representative? Sometimes they can help cut through the red tape when dealing with government agencies.
