NY unemployment payment missing this week - Wells Fargo glitch affecting deposits

yep, Wells Fargo customer here too. havent gotten my payment either. was supposed to come yesterday. freaking out cuz rent is due in 3 days!!

I work at a financial institution (not Wells Fargo), and I can confirm there was a major ACH processing delay affecting multiple banks this week, not just Wells Fargo. The good news is that these payments are already in process - they're just stuck in the system. Most banks are working to have all delayed deposits posted by end of day today. THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!! Fourth time this year WF has screwed up my payments!!! I'm DONE with them after this! Called them 5 times and got 5 different stories. One rep said it would be fixed by noon, another said by midnight, another said they don't know when! Meanwhile I've got bills due TODAY that are going to bounce. Why does NYSDOL even use these incompetent banks???

The issue is with the Automated Clearing House (ACH) network that handles the transfers between banks. Wells Fargo and several other financial institutions are experiencing delays in posting these transactions. What you should know: 1. Your payment has been issued and is not lost 2. The delay is temporary and should resolve within 24-48 hours 3. You do not need to refile or recertify 4. This will not affect your claim status or benefits eligibility If your payment doesn't post by tomorrow evening, then it would be appropriate to contact NYSDOL directly.

When I was on unemployment last year I switched from Wells Fargo to getting a direct deposit card instead. Nevr had any issues after that. Wells Fargo always had problems with my unemployment money for some reason, but my regular paycheck was always fine. Just something to think about for the future maybe?

my cousin works at wells fargo and she said it was some kind of computer update they did over the weekend that messed everything up. not just unemployment but loads of government payments. she said it should all be fixed by tonite.

Just as an FYI for everyone, if you ever need to actually speak with someone at NYSDOL and can't get through the regular phone lines, Claimyr is a legitimate service that connects you. This whole thing reminds me of when I was claiming unemployment back in 2023 and Chase bank kept holding my deposits for 3 days for "verification" every single week. I had to go into a branch and raise hell to get them to stop doing it. These banks just don't care about people who are struggling!

Update from NYSDOL: They've confirmed with ACH processors that all delayed transactions have now been released to banks. If you haven't received your payment yet, it should appear in your account by midnight tonight. If you don't see it by tomorrow morning, contact your bank first, then NYSDOL if the bank claims they haven't received it.
