If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

That's definitely the right move. When you call, make sure you have your tax return, NY-1099G form, and filing confirmation number ready. Ask specifically about the unemployment tax exclusion status, not just the general refund status. Sometimes the representatives only check the main refund system unless you ask about the unemployment portion specifically.

Got it, I'll make sure to ask specifically about the unemployment tax exclusion. Thanks for the tip!

last year my buddy had to file an admended return to get his unemployment tax back... might be worth asking about that too when u call

0 coins

This is accurate in some cases. If you filed your taxes before the unemployment tax exclusion was implemented for the tax year, you might need to file an amended return. However, for 2025 taxes, the exclusion was already in place when filing began in January, so amended returns should only be necessary in special circumstances or if there was an error in how your unemployment income was reported.

Just wanted to add one more thing - if your landlord is threatening eviction due to late rent, make sure to get documentation from NYSDOL about your pending payments. New York has temporary protection if you can prove you're waiting on unemployment funds. Ask the agent for a "Notice of Pending Unemployment Benefits" when you speak with them. You can present this to your landlord to potentially get more time.

Thank you! I didn't know about this protection. My landlord has been somewhat understanding so far, but having official documentation would definitely help.

UPDATE: I finally got through this morning! Called right at 8:00am like suggested and asked for a Tier 2 payment specialist. Had to wait about 25 minutes, but finally spoke to someone helpful. Turns out my account was flagged for "quarterly review" which they're doing to random accounts. The agent cleared the hold while I was on the phone and said I should see all three payments in my account within 2-3 business days. She also sent me the benefits notice documentation to show my landlord. Thanks everyone for your help!

Great news! Glad you got it sorted out. The quarterly reviews are frustrating but at least you know what happened now.

Update: just got mine!! check ur accounts people, finally showed up this morning

Just checked and mine came through too! What a relief. Still wish they'd communicate better about these delays though.

This happens literally EVERY THREE MONTHS like clockwork. I've been on NY unemployment since last May and I swear they do this on purpose to mess with people. One time my payment was delayed TWO WEEKS and I had to borrow money from my parents to pay rent. Then when I finally got through to someone they acted like it was no big deal and couldn't tell me why it happened. The whole system is designed to frustrate people into giving up on benefits they deserve!!!

While delays are frustrating, they're typically not intentional. The NYSDOL processes thousands of claims daily, and occasional system issues or verification delays can affect payment timing. If you experience a delay longer than 7 days, you should always contact them directly as it could indicate a specific issue with your claim that needs addressing.

When I was waiting for my waiver decision, I finally called and learned there was a problem they never notified me about. After struggling to get through on the phones, I used Claimyr to get connected to an agent in about 20 minutes. The agent discovered my application was missing a signature on page 3 (which I had no idea about). I resubmitted that day and had my approval within a week. Sometimes calling is the only way to find out what's really happening with your case. Check out their demo at https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE to see how it works.

I'm going to try calling tomorrow. Maybe there's something wrong with my application that I don't know about. It's just so frustrating that they don't proactively notify you about these issues!

One final tip: if you do call, make sure to request that the agent documents the call in your case notes. This creates a paper trail showing you're actively following up. If you reach the 12-week mark with no resolution, you can escalate to a supervisor and reference your previous inquiries, which strengthens your case for expedited review.

That's really helpful advice! I'll definitely ask them to document the call in my case notes. Thanks for the tip about escalation too - hopefully it won't come to that, but good to know my options.

I had this exact situation back in February. After weeks of trying to call with no success, I tried using Claimyr (the service someone mentioned above), and it actually worked. Got through to someone who told me my claim had a "pending review" status due to my former employer contesting the reason for separation. Once I talked to the agent, they removed the hold and I received all my backpay within 3 days. Definitely try to get through to a human - either through persistent calling, your state rep, or a service like that.

Thank you! That's really helpful to know. I'm thinking my former employer might be causing the delay too. They weren't happy when they had to lay me off. I'm going to try getting through to someone ASAP.

Just wanted to check back - were you able to make any progress with your claim? Sometimes if your work history includes multiple employers in your base period, that can also cause delays as they verify information with each one.

I finally got through using that Claimyr service someone recommended! The agent found that there was an employer response issue AND a random flag for additional review on my account. She cleared both and said I should see all my backpay within 3 business days. I'm so relieved! I'll update once the money actually hits my account.

That's great news! The backpay should include all weeks from your initial filing date through the most recent certification, as long as you certified for each week. Make sure to keep certifying while waiting for the payment to process.
