Same thing happpened to my roomate. He said it was back pay from a week where they processed his claim wrong. Just watch ur account for the next week to make sure.

Did you miss any weeks or have any pending issues on your claim before? Sometimes they resolve those and don't tell you, then the money just shows up.

Lol typical NY unemployment... give you random money with zero explanation, then make it impossible to ask anyone about it 🙃 What a system!

Keep the money in your account but dont spend it for at least 2 weeks. If they don't take it back by then, it's probably yours. But CHECK YOUR MESSAGES in the system. Sometimes they send important info there that explains these things.

Not falling for another unemployment 'hack'... these never work
