How to get transaction history from old ny unemployment KeyBank card?
My unemployment benefits ended in February 2022 and I just realized I need my KeyBank transaction history for tax purposes. I havent used the card in over a year and when I tried logging into the KeyBank website, it says my account is locked. Called the number on the back of the card but just got stuck in an automated loop. Tried to create a new online account but the system says it cant verify my identity. I need these statements for the last tax year ASAP since I'm meeting with an accountant next week. Has anyone successfully retrieved old transaction records from their KeyBank unemployment card? The website is completely useless and I can't get through to an actual human on the phone.

I had the same exact issue last month. What a nightmare! I ended up having to physically go to a KeyBank branch with my ID and the card. They were able to print the statements right there. The closest branch was like 40 minutes away but at least I got what I needed.

•Thanks for the suggestion. No KeyBank branches near me unfortunately, closest one is 2 hours away. Did they charge you anything for printing the statements?

•No charge! At least they didn't charge me anything. The teller was super helpful after I explained the situation.

After weeks of trying to get through to someone at KeyBank, I finally found a solution with this service that calls and waits on hold for you - claimyr.com. Talking to an actual agent got my statements emailed to me within minutes. It was the best money I've ever spent considering how much time I wasted trying to call them myself. Here's a video explaining how it works: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

•wait hold up - does this actually work or is it just the usual BS? I've wasted hours on hold and I'm about to lose my mind

•Yeah it actually worked for me. They called, stayed on hold (mine was like 2 hours) and then my phone rang when they got a human. Saved me from losing it completely lol

•hmm I've been burned by so many of these 'services' before... what makes this different? 🤔

•They don't try to do anything except get you connected with an actual agent. They just handle the horrible hold times. I was skeptical too but was desperate after trying for days.

•I've used it twice. Works exactly as described. The second time my callback came in about 1.5 hours and got my issue fixed in 10 minutes after that.

I printed all my KeyBank statements monthly when I was on unemployment. Lucky I did since seems like KeyBank makes it impossible to get your records once your benefits end. Kinda sus if you ask me 👀

Try the KeyBank automated phone number and press 0 repeatedly. Sometimes that gets you to a human faster. I did it like 5 times before it worked but eventually got through.

•Thanks, I'll try that. How long did you have to wait on hold after pressing 0?

•About 45 minutes the time it actually worked. But better than the runaround I was getting before.

THE NY UNEMPLOYMENT KEYBANK SYSTEM IS LITERALLY THE WORST!!! I spent THREE DAYS trying to get my statements. Finally filed a CFPB complaint and magically got a call back from a supervisor who fixed it. Try that if nothing else works.

•what's CFPB? might try this myself

•Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. You can file complaints online and banks have to respond. They dont mess around with federal complaints.

•Filing a complaint works!! It's like magic how fast they respond when a govt agency gets involved 🤣

If you go to the ny unemployment website and login to your account, there should be a section where you can see payment history. It won't show what you spent the money on, but at least shows when payments were deposited to your card. Might help with the tax stuff.

This is a MAJOR issue with the KeyBank unemployment cards. Let me break this down with what I've learned after dealing with this for months: First, KeyBank is deliberately making this difficult. They're counting on people giving up because most won't pursue it. Here are your options: - If you still have your card and PIN, try calling 1-866-295-2955 which is a direct line to KeyBank's unemployment division - Request to speak with a supervisor immediately - the first-level agents often can't help with archived statements - File a formal request in writing for your statements under Regulation E (federal banking law) - they MUST provide transaction history for up to 2 years - If all else fails, use a service like claimyr.com that will wait on hold for you and connect you with a live agent Don't give up! They're legally required to provide this information to you. It's YOUR money and YOUR records. Good luck!

•THIS!!! They make it impossible on purpose. I literally had to threaten legal action before they sent me my statements.

•Thank you SO much for this detailed info! Didn't know about Regulation E, that's really helpful.

•Do you still have the email address? Would really appreciate it!

•It was something like uibanking@keybank.com but that might not be exact. Try searching 'KeyBank UI banking email' should come up

The NY unemployment system is straight garbage. After my benefits ended I couldn't access anything either. Ended up having to talk to my accountant about filing without the detailed statements. He said we could estimate based on my bank deposits if needed.

•doesn't that risk getting audited tho? I'd be worried about not having exact records

•My accountant said as long as you're not claiming less than what you got, it's fine. Better to overestimate than underestimate what you received.

Try downloading the KeyBank app and setting up a new account that way. Worked for me when the website kept locking me out. The app interface is slightly different and sometimes gets around the website glitches.

Don't waste ur time with their customer service. I went through this hell 3 months ago. Fastest solution = claimyr.com to get through to a rep who can actually help. It's insane that we have to pay extra just to get OUR info but it saved my sanity.

•did they need any weird info when you used that service?

•Nope, just put in my phone number so they could call me back when they reached someone. Then I handled the actual conversation with the KeyBank agent myself.

Contact your state representative!!!! I had the exact same issue and nothing worked until I reached out to my local assembly member. Their office contacted KeyBank directly and I had my statements within 48 hours. They have special channels to get through to these agencies.

Is your card expired? If it is, that might be why you can't access the account online anymore. In that case you definitely need to talk to an actual person at KeyBank. Their system is set up to make that nearly impossible tho 🤬
