How to access KeyBank transaction history for ny unemployment deposits?
My KeyBank card for unemployment payments is showing a different balance than what I was expecting after my last two deposits. I'm trying to see exactly when and how much was loaded onto the card in December and January, but can't figure out how to access my transaction history. I created an online account but it's only showing the last 3 weeks of activity. Tried calling the number on the back of the card but got stuck in an endless automated system. Does anyone know if there's a way to see the full transaction history or get a statement for the past few months? Really need to verify these deposits as I think there might be an error with one of them. The balance is about $380 less than it should be based on what I calculated.

Log into the KeyBank account online. After you sign in, click on your account. Then look for 'View Statements' or 'Transaction History' on the menu. You can usually download statements going back at least 6 months. If you cant find it, try clicking around in the account settings or look for a calendar icon somewhere on the page.

•Thanks, I tried that but the online portal only shows me the last 3 weeks for some reason. Maybe because I just set up the online account recently?

•Same thing happened to me! Keybank's website is trash. You need to call and request statements be mailed to you for anything older than a month 🙄

•Yeah their website is super limited compared to real banks. Try calling the KeyBank customer service number during business hours (not the number on the card) and specifically ask for transaction history. The automated system on the card number is useless.

I was having the same issue with my unemployment deposits and trying to reach KeyBank was impossible. I finally used this service called claimyr.com and they got me connected to an actual person at the DOL who helped me track down my missing deposits. Best money I've spent to get this resolved - talking to a real human got everything sorted in one call. Check out this video if you're curious: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

•wait does this actually work? I've been trying to reach someone for weeks about my missing payment

•Yep! It works - they basically wait on hold for you and then call you when they get a real person. I was skeptical too but after spending hours getting nowhere I gave it a shot and actually talked to someone who fixed my issue.

•sounds too good to be true honestly... another 'miracle solution' that probably does nothing 🙄

•I get the skepticism - I felt the same way. But after 3 failed attempts to talk to an actual human over 2 weeks, this actually connected me. Not saying it fixes everything but at least you get to talk to a real agent instead of that mind-numbing hold music.

•I just tried this last week and it worked for me too! Was shocked when my phone rang and it was an actual unemployment rep and not another recording lol

You have to physically go to a KeyBank branch with your ID and the card. They can print out your complete transaction history. I had to do this when I thought money was missing last November. Turns out there were some random fees I didn't know about.

•That's good to know! Is there a fee for getting the printout? The closest branch is like 45 mins away from me.

•No fee when i went! Just bring ID and know your card number. And be nice to the teller lol - they're not the ones who made the crappy unemployment card system.

•I tried this and the branch said they couldn't help me because it's a "government program card" and not a regular KeyBank account. Might depend on which branch you go to.

Pro tip: ALWAYS transfer your unemployment money to your personal bank account as soon as it hits the KeyBank card. That way you have proper records and don't have to deal with their garbage system. KeyBank's entire unemployment card setup is a nightmare and they make it hard to track transactions on purpose IMO.

Ugh KeyBank is THE WORST for ny unemployment deposits. Their transaction history is deliberately confusing. Here's what I do - I screenshot my balance after each deposit hits, then immediately transfer it all to my regular bank. Their customer service is useless and the automated phone system is designed to make you give up.

•THIS!!! I do the same thing - document Everything because they'll never help you if there's a discrepancy later. The whole system is designed to make it hard to track your money.

There's actually a workaround! Call 1-866-295-2955 and when the automated system starts, press 0 then 0 again, then 2, then 1. It'll ask for your card number and PIN. After that say "representative" when it asks why youre calling. Takes about 20-30 minutes on hold but you'll get a human who can tell you transactions from the past 90 days. If you need older than that, you have to request statements by mail.

•I tried this and got stuck in another automated loop after pressing all those numbers. These phone systems are designed by sadists I swear

•Try it again but don't press anything until each prompt fully finishes. If that doesnt work, try replacing the last 1 with a 3. They change the menu options sometimes.

Let me share the most comprehensive answer on this because I dealt with this exact issue for MONTHS with my ny unemployment KeyBank card and finally figured it all out. First, here's why you're having trouble: KeyBank deliberately limits online access for unemployment debit cards. They have a completely different system for these cards than regular KeyBank accounts. Here's what actually works: 1) For RECENT transactions (past 30 days): Use the app or website after creating an account 2) For transactions 30-90 days old: You MUST call 866-295-2955 and navigate to a human representative who can read these to you 3) For transactions over 90 days: You must request paper statements by mail OR visit a branch in person with ID What DOESN'T work: The automated phone system, email requests, or trying to use the regular KeyBank banking features. If all else fails and you're really missing money, your best option is to get through to an actual DOL agent who can verify what they sent to your card. The KeyBank people often can't help with deposit discrepancies. I used claimyr.com to get through to a real person after weeks of failed attempts - totally worth it to finally get my missing $700 sorted out.

•How did claimyr work for you? I'm at my wits end trying to reach someone about my card.

•It was actually super simple. You pay them, they call the unemployment office and wait on hold (which took like 2 hours when I used it), then they call you when they have a live agent on the line. Saved me from having to sit through the hold music for hours. The agent I got was able to see exactly what had been deposited and when.

Keybank is required by federal law to provide you with your transaction history. If they refuse, remind them of Regulation E which governs electronic fund transfers. You are entitled to at least 60 days of history verbally and can request up to 12 months in writing. If they still won't help, file a complaint with the CFPB (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau) and they'll suddenly become very helpful lol

My unemployment experience with KeyBank was a nightmare too. have you checked if maybe there were fees? They charge for certain transactions like checking your balance at non-keybank ATMs, and it adds up. I lost like $45 to stupid fees over two months before I realized what was happening 🤦♀️

•I didn't even think about fees! Do they charge for transfers to your bank account too? That might explain the missing amount.

•They sure do! I think its like $1.50 per transfer now. And if you check your balance at the wrong ATM thats another $1-2. And God forbid you need a replacement card - thats like $12.95! They nickel and dime us when were already struggling 😡

FYI - KeyBank recently changed their policy on transaction history for unemployment cards. As of two months ago, you need to specifically ask for an "account verification letter" which shows deposits and withdrawals. Regular transaction history only shows purchases now. And they charge $5 for this letter! I know this because I just went through this whole mess. It's a complete racket.

save urself the headache and just call the actual unemployment office not keybank. keybank will transfer u around in circles for hours. i used claimyr.com to get thru to unemployment after trying for 2 weeks on my own and the agent was able to see every deposit they sent to my card and when. turns out keybank never activated one of my deposits correctly 🤡

Stop using the KeyBank card altogether if you can!!! I set up direct deposit for my unemployment to my regular checking account and its SOOO much better. You can do it through your online portal on the NY unemployment website. Takes about 2 weeks to switch over but worth it to never deal with KeyBank again.

you need to call this number: 1-833-925-9808 - it's a special direct line for KeyBank unemployment card issues. It's not the same as the number on the back of the card. They answer quicker and can pull up a full history.
